Ok, a little history to set the stage so to speak. Been to only six Chiropractors in my life of which two were high school buddies and college roommates back in my hometowns, Canyon/Amarillo… Both were awesome. Then moved to Abilene, saw two, one only once because he was absolutely horrible and the only one I went to for ten years, enough said. Dr Walker came highly recommended by five coworkers… So when I could stand up straight a couple of years ago after falling went to him. I have to say he’s by far the best I’ve EVER been too(sorry Todd and Rusty) He works on you until you are property adjusted and only recommends you come back when it’s absolutely needed. As for the reviews I’ve read about his staff, those folks must have moved on or Dr Walker addressed it because the two ladies that work in the front office now or the last two years are AWESOME! They are polite, friendly, caring and always get me right in, or even work me in if I happen to walk in when they can. Always with a smile too. Don’t put too much into the bad reviews about his staff, I’m very picky about doctors and the staff and have NEVERHAD A BADEXPERIENCEWITHDRWALKER nor HISSTAFF!

Disclaimer– I have wanted to see Dr Walker because I heard great things about his skills as a chiropractor. I have NEVER actually seen him as a patient, so this review is strictly pertaining to his office staff and policies. Review: I am a full time student in vet medicine. My schedule has very limited breaks during the middle of the day and is open all Friday afternoon I am free. I have called to try to get scheduled and the office has very limited and specific new patient appointment times. And if you can’t make those times, well then you can’t be a patient. I explained my situation and how limited my schedule was and the office staff(on more than one occasion that I have I inquired) had a «too bad, not our problem» attitude. I asked if maybe they could make an exception and schedule me somewhere other than these specific new patient time, and they refused. Even tho the schedule was wide open during the times I was requesting they wouldn’t see me BC they only see new patients during those specific time windows. Hey, genius, why don’t you combine two of those OPEN regular appointment spots to make a new patient spot and earn my business?!! Nope, that’s too hard. So guess what, I took my business elsewhere! All in all, if a business has zero flexibility and doesn’t care to try to earn my business then I go somewhere where I am appreciated!

We like Dr Walker and his treatments. The front office is very unprofessional. Not helpful, condescending and thinks it funny when people are in pain. Having just been in a car accident with another family member, we made an appointment to be treated. The front office was more worried about getting paid and pushing us to use a lawyer.(Their lawyer.) We have insurance and have always paid when we are treated. We made the appointment, checked in a little early and waited 45 minutes. When they took a person to be treated who had an appointment after us I asked when we would be seen. They could not tell us and thought it was funny we would even ask. They proceeded to make jokes that they could not treat us… Really? Again they took people back who had appointments after us and gave us no reason or when we could be scene. Not a friendly or caring practice. Sad the front office is so unprofessional.

The receptionist at Walker Chiropractic just told me there’s, «a state law in Texas that requires them to charge a re-exam fee if it’s been six months since last visit». It’s been five months since mine, but they still want to charge me an extra fee(even though I told them it’s just for maintenance, and I’m not in pain). I’ve already paid them a $ 100 plus«new patient fee» with cash out of pocket(I’m uninsured). My chiropractor in Pennsylvania adjusted me after a two year absence and didn’t charge a penny more. Needless to say, I won’t be going back. Update– Dr. Walker called to explain that the new fee is a result of the«new medicare laws» and is actually required«every 3 months». As for his chiropractic care, the adjustment was okay. Definitely not the best I’ve ever had, but it helped when I was in acute pain.
