If the people at Safeway who decide what gets sold in, and who manages, each location do so based on what they think of the surrounding area, then those Safeway deciders must think that Bryans Road is the Worst Place on Earth. The selection — baked goods, prepared foods, produce, meats, seafood, and dry goods — is the worst of any Safeway I’ve ever seen. The management seems to care nothing for cleanliness, expiration dates, restocking shelves, staffing checkout lines, or anything else to do with running a grocery store in 2015. They, along with the above-mentioned deciders, should be ashamed of themselves. Seventeen minutes away, in La Plata, is a Safeway that wouldn’t win any awards in any categories even on its best day, but which is so significantly better than this one in Bryans Road, I’m convinced of my original premise: Safeway corporate thinks everyone around here is dirt, and only deserves this dirty, empty, sad excuse for a grocery store.

The experienced staff are very friendly and know you by name. The newer staff could be a little friendlier. The store tends to have most of what we need, but is lacking in the specialty items department. Often, I feel there are not enough checkers, and lines can get long quickly.

its a safeway. What more is there to say? Same inventory, decent service and convenient coffee from Starbucks.

the store is fairly nice, but don’t always carry what I’m looking for. I’ve had several problems with checkout — cashiers have made quite a few mistakes so check your receipts
