Great steak and staff! We were very hungry heading to Bryce National Park and Foster’s made our day. Had the RibEye Steak(Medium) with seasonal greens plus mash potatoes and a salad. My girl had the country fried steak and I did taste it and it was good. But my steak was so good, local meat as they advertise is what makes this steak legit. Two televisions to show news and sports, large dining area, plenty of parking as well. Off highway 12. Call before during winter months because I noticed every other day they are open.

Meh. Choices are extremely limited when visiting Bryce. We knew that we did not want to eat at Ruby’s and Foster’s seemed to be a better choice. It wasn’t horrible. I mean, it was edible but … First of all, the«special» was Country Fried Steak at about $ 2 less than regular menu price. However, the regular price includes a soup or on trip to salad bar. The special does not. So if you want soup, it will cost you an extra $ 3. So it really isn’t much of a special right? We started with the sautéed mushrooms. These were really bland and really greasy. My husband did order the country fried steak. This was breaded in what appeared to be Panko. Odd to say the least. The meat was mushy and tasteless. The gravy was thick but at least it gave the steak a bit of flavor. I had a fish sandwich. I don’t remember exactly how much it was, maybe $ 10 or so. For the price, I got a couple of Mrs Paul’s fish sticks on a small hamburger bun with a few fries. The fries were good though. We also had an Oreo pie because heck, they’re famous for their pies right? Let’s just say that maybe I should’ve tried a fruit pie. Not yummy at all. And I never say no to sweets. Our server was ok. Not much to comment about there. With one beer our total was about $ 50. Should’ve gone to Subway’s.

Giving this place 3 stars because considering our options I think this was the safest bet and definitely not bad!(2 stars if you were in the city) but there is literally NO options in Bryce! I wish we would have known this because we drove from Zion where the food and lodging options were a plenty. Salad bar was nice, we shared zucchini fries that were ok and a filet that was also ok. We ordered it medium rare and it was definitely more on the rare side. But the flavor was fine. No need for steak sauce. Veggies were cooked well and mashed potatoes and gravy hit the spot after a long day of driving. I would definitely recommend eating and/or sleeping in Zion if you have the option. If I would’ve known the choices in Bryce would be so bad I would’ve stayed there over night.

Bad meat, and cold steak with $ 25+ price. Don’t come here if you seek for a good meal after hiking.

If you’re staying nearby and don’t want a buffet meal, head over to Fosters. This is a no frills establishment, but the food is good and servers are friendly. We had the mixed appetizer of jalapeño poppers, zucchini fries, and onion rings, all of which were well cooked and tasty. We all had steak which came with a choice of a small salad or soup. 3 of us had the French onion soup which was very tasty, but needed a bit of cheese.(It was self serve at the soup/salad bar). The steaks were definitely the star of the evening, each of them were perfectly cooked, nicely seasoned and fresh. The sides were ok, nothing to rave over. We missed out on the homemade pies but they looked fantastic!

Its’ a-ok. Really not much more to say. It’s kind of food where you would say«if I cooked it myself it would taste better». But it’s not bad either. In Bryce it was really the only option for us — definitively better than the Ruby’s Inn.

Looks may be deceiving at first looks on this restaurant, but they food was excellent. You can definitely tell that this is a family owned place and everyone working there are very friendly. For appetizers, we were amazed how great the zucchini fries. With each entrée, it’s comes with a salad or soup. Soup is your best choice because it’s made from scratch, we could definitely tell. We recommend the chicken and veggies. I got the«Special Super Steak» which seemed to be the same 10 oz Top Sirloin with additional sauteed onions and mushrooms. The beef came extremely tender(rare, because how else are you supposedd to eat a good steak?) and the server said it came from Kanab. My wife got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Also excellent, juicy 4 pc chicken with a thick breading and the mashed potatoes seem freshly made. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for dinner if you’re in your way to Zion.

Yes I agree with others. The fried mushrooms are outstanding. The steak very good. The service very nice. We will be back for breakfast. After dining here I see no reason for anyone to go to Ruby’s

This one is a hard one to rate. Let’s be honest, Bryce is lacking in food options. It’s bad ratings, upon bad ratings, but you’ve likely had a long day hiking or exploring and you’re hungry!!! So here’s the bad: the service was ridiculous. It was comically bad. We never had our waters or soda refilled. I ordered mashed potatoes and she brought me fries without a word about the change. I replied, «Oh, this isn’t mine. I ordered mashed potatoes.» She responded, «The mashed potatoes aren’t quite ready.» And then she walked off without letting me know if I should expect a side of mashed potatoes later(which didn’t come). She also never offered or brought me the soup or salad that was supposed to come with my meal. And then it took forever to get our check and pay. I really wanted to try their Foster’s Pie, but there was no way I was going to wait even longer to keep receiving this kind of service. I wasn’t really upset with not having any of the sides that were supposed to come with my meal, but the lack of communication and helpfulness was very unusual. The good: I was pleasantly surprised with my chicken fried steak. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was good. Quite good, actually! The gravy was a little too thick and copious, but I happily ate it. I didn’t even try the veggies; they didn’t look appealing. But the fries were also yummy and cooked well. I dipped them in the overflowing gravy. My husband had the chicken burger and it didn’t seem amazing, but he ate most of it. If I was in the area I would still come back here. The chicken fried steak was worth it after a long day. But hopefully next time they have better wait staff.

When searching for a nice dinner spot, there are surprisingly few good choices near Bryce. In Springfield, near Zion NP, there are a bunch of gourmet places catering to foodies. Here? Not so much. One of the higher rated spots is Foster’s. Think Sizzler from 1975 in décor and menu. Service was excellent. The menu featured steaks but they have a bunch of other choices. They allowed us to bring in a nice bottle of wine from home. Iceberg lettuce salad bar was meh… A fantastic sautéed mushroom appetizer that would have been welcomed at a much finer establishment. Decent club sandwich, crappy T-bone steak, good trout dinner and an okay Reuben sandwich. Great pies for dessert. Lower your foodie expectations and have a fun casual meal near Bryce.

Well. I should have gotten food. Instead I opted for the salad and soup bar which was fairly basic. Almost too basic. The soups were ok, nothing to write home about and there was ample amount of salad greens and a few other veggies. Oh and a mac salad that was swimming in something, I guess dressing(I couldn’t taste it). I think some bread would have made this a little better and I wish I had gotten some other kind of food.

Murica! Gotta love a place that serves large portion steaks in a no frills, don’t tread on me kind of atmosphere. Glad we came to this place. There are not many palatable options in the Bryce area. Worth getting in the car for a quick drive down the street after a long day of hiking. And the pies… I want them all. Onion rings were a solid nine out of ten as well.

SO, we were at the State Park for sunset and once we came out wanted a quick meal to get us on out way back to the interstate. We stopped at the other place in town(ruby’s) were the staff was less than helpful for just a quick bite to eat. we decided to leave and go without eating when lo and behold, we came upon Foster’s. It was late, but the open sign was still on. Getting to the door, we saw they close in another r15 minutes, but went inside anyway. We were greater courteously and promptly seated. They order was taken in a timely manner and once the food came, although a bit slow, oh my was it ever delicious. Well worth the wait! Our next trip to Bryce Canyon we will DEFINITELY go to foster’s again! Thank you for the great experience even at such a late hour.

Let’s start by saying there isn’t many options in Bryce 3.5 Stars for breakfast Breakfast was good. We both had oatmeal and as a bonus it came with bananas not raisins Yum. Flavorful breads for the toast but a little over done. Coffee was good 2.5 stars overall for dinner 4 stars for service Summer our server very friendly 2 stars for food. Salad bar was very basic and not too fresh. Portions of lettuce where going brown and carrots were not that appealing either. My wife order the burger and was okay, nicely charbroiled but nothing special. My steak, though cooked nicely was a terrible cut of meat. Very fatty and sinewy, I would have expected much better quality considering all the local cattle. I’d go back for breakfast but would not return for lunch or dinner.

We got into town late as we plan to visit Bryce canyon tomorrow. Our day was longer than expected and we got to our hotel at exactly 9 pm. Unfortunately every restaurant also closed at 9. We remembered seeing Foster’s back 9 miles before our hotel and called at 9:25 to see when they closed. They said they stop seating in 15 minutes and we said we were on our way. Starting with the staff they were very kind. I’ve waitressed before and there is nothing worse than customers walking in minutes before your shift ends. However this didn’t seem to faze them as they were so nice! They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Moving on to the food. The food was very good. Was it a high end steak house? No. It was more down home cooking. Still very good although perhaps a bit pricey for the type of food. As for ambiance the tables were comfortable and the place was big. My only complaint is it was cold in there. Overall they were a god send to us. We would absolutely eat here again.

With our annual trip to Bryce we decided to stop at Fosters for a change. When in Bryce your eating options are very limited. We had: Fried Chicken UTAH Trout UTAH Trout Grilled Chicken The food was cooked well — meaning I don’t recall any GI issues. But, for the price you pay, I just think it was not as good as we had anticipated. The salad bar was very limited and the soups were almost gone(at 7:30). This is an «ok» place to eat. For the price it was disappointing.

The service was top notch! Angela was our waitress and she was the friendliest server I have ever had. Only problem I had was my fried chicken breast wasn’t completely cooked through, Angela took the proper steps to make sure everything was great! We got the New York strip and the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. The apple pie was delicious as a to-go order to enjoy later in our hotel room. Would definitely go back!

Food was good, not the best but not the worst. Definitely overpriced !!! Had the 10 oz. prime rib dinner for $ 22 and my bf had the 16 oz for $ 24. Service was good and the food came out fast. Then again we were the only ones in the whole restaurant. It was a rainy day in Bryce Canyon… I was cold and wet and expecting to walk into a warm cozy restaurant but I didn’t get that feeling. In fact idk if the restaurant had a heater at all it was cold in there the whole time. Left with a fully tummy tho.

If you find yourself having dinner at Foster’s, you’re either here to see Bryce Canyon or terribly lost. There isn’t much in the area by way of culinary delight so your best bet for food is to find one of the hotel-linked/family owned restaurants, all of which will be crowded. My family came for a late 9PM dinner at Fosters. The service was a bit slow, but trying to remember all of the state capitals courtesy of the placemats was amusing. I had the Utah Trout with a baked potato and salad. The salad is a serve yourself at the salad bar option, which is great in theory, though there was a scarcity of vegetable options and many of them were wilted. They definitely went for quantity over quality for the trout, which was bland, oily, and plentiful. The baked potato was standard, so I enjoyed it. Had a bunch of food leftover and no room for dessert, which looked good. Although Foster’s failed to impress me, when you are out in the middle of nowhere with an empty stomach, what else can you do.

Deswegen volle punktzahl!

We went here two times for dinner because there was nothing else edible to eat outside Zion National Park. We were going to eat at Subway, but thanks you Unilocal,we were able to find some type of restaurant to eat at. After logging in at least 6 – 8 miles a day, we wanted some good dinner food! The food here was pretty good, considering we were located in the middle of nowhere. I’d recommend the French-dip sandwich and the garlic bread with mushrooms. Solid.
