The burger was OK but unremarkable. The bun was thin and cheap. The fries were cold. When we told them the fries were cold they must have microwaved them because the exact same fries came back. The walls and tables are painted with chalkboard paint but only the tables are to be drawn on with chalk. My children were reprimanded for doing what appeared to be an implied invitation to draw with chalk on the wall. The experience left me nonplussed. The aftertaste in my mouth is the flavor of disappointment. Wouldn’t recommend BRGR to others or ever return to dine.

I wanted to like it so much… but it was a little lack luster. The toppings were great my only beef(pun intended) is that my burger was quite greasy. Before I was half way through the burger my bottom bun was soaked all the way through. Next time, I’m going to see if they can cook some of that greasy out next time. I’m giving you another chance BRGR joint, don’t let me down!

This is one of my go-to spots for lunch since I work out in Radnor. The staff isn’t just friendly — they are cool people who will talk to you about anything. Everyone talks about the burgers which are what they are(five guys-esque with some more unique toppings) — but I’ve been here enough to try the whole menu. Their side salad isn’t perfect but it’s unique and makes you feel relatively healthy in a not-so-healthy place. The«sloppy joint»(sloppy joe) with green chili sauce is my favorite though — it’s just different somehow. The fries could be better. I asked them why they aren’t crispy and they said that the handcut process makes it the way they are. I’m sure there’s a way around that but it’s my only real complaint. I come here consistently and always leave pleased. They deliver, but come in at least once to check out the décor /pictures of «the BRGR challenge» contestants.

BRGR joint is MDCR(that’s mediocre). Although certainly better than Five Guys, which a lot of other reviewes compare it to, the burgers at BRGR are pretty flavorless. I had mine with blue cheese and grilled onions, but there wasn’t enough of either topping. The regular fries are good, not great. I was super-excited for the mini-sized milkshake and I still think this is a great idea. However, the black raspberry – which the girl at the counter recommended – had the overly-processed flavor of slurpee. If my sweet tooth attacks at work, I would consider going back to try a mini chocolate-flavored milkshake, but I’d skip on the burger for sure.

The place, on first walking in, is really nice. The Sailor Jerry tattoo décor is really nice and the place is clean. You order at a counter and do a build your own burger type of thing that they then bring to you. I ordered a turkey burger with BBQ, cheddar, and grilled onions. My husband got a single burger with egg and cheddar. Overall, both burgers were really quite bland — the meat was OK, but not seasoned. MYBBQ sauce really helped my burger out by giving it some flavor. The egg was cooked well. The cheddar was really tasteless and kind of rubbery. The grilled onions were yummy. The buns were kind of soggy. And the fries were just meh. I’ll take McDonalds fries anyday over these. Overall, just OK hamburgers. Better than Five Guys, but nothing too amazing.

This is a solid local burger chain. The tattoo parlour-esque artwork décor is fantastic, the staff are frinedly, and most importantly, the food is reliably good. Ok, so it’s not In-N-Out or even Shake Shack, BUT the customizable and stackable burgers are better than the other similar restaurants in the area(namely Five Guys). You can add toppings to your heart’s content. Fried egg? Check. Guac? Yep. Bacon? You betcha. A heaping scoop of chili? Why not? Plus, all of your ubiquitous veggies like grilled mushrooms, sauteed onions, and LTO, and a vast array of sauces are free. No peanuts here but they do have some great sweet potato fries, which, to be completely honest, are kinda addictive so I limit myself to a small(only $ 2!!!). Just be sure to eat them as soon as they are served because they can get soggy in the brown paper bag. Besides, if you’re getting a huge burger, do you really need the additional cholesterol from boredom-relieving peanuts while you wait for your actual meal? The beef patties themselves are pretty juicy, and neither overcooked like Five Guy’s or too dry like Elevation’s. The only thing is that they won’t make a medium-rare semi-bloody burger, which is my favorite kind. C’est la vie. The bun itself is nothing special; it’s your typical, grocery store bun. I’ve also tried the turkey burger, which I found to be a little too lean for my taste but my mom swears by it(and the chicken burger). I would stick with the single cheeseburger topped with bacon, swiss, onions, mushrooms and a fried egg unless you are feeling particularly voracious, in which case you are free to stack away to your heart’s content(at least up to 11 patties). And if you’re a vegetarian, they also have a BYO salad menu and a black bean burger, although I haven’t ordered it yet. Next time!

I seriously want to not compare BRGR Joint to 5 Guys, so hopefully this review won’t reflect that. I’ve always wanted to try BRGR Joint since I heard about it — it appears to be a hangout/go-to place for ‘Nova students. I had a Lil Cheeseburger served all-the-way, with an order of sweet potato fries. Both were excellent! I wish the sweet potato fries were a bit crispier, but I’m not complaining. I went midday, so it was pretty dead, but I can imagine this place getting packed at night/on weekends. They had reasonable prices and good food, so I’d definitely come back!

I have wanted to try this place out for a couple of years after riding pass it one night from class. I finally got a chance to slip in for a burger. Upon entering BRGR joint, I was not sure what to expect judging from its galley like architecture, which occupies a narrow row home. The person who took my order was extremely pleasant. I noticed one of the toppings they offer is a fried egg, which by the way, is one of my new favorite toppings for a hamburger. I decided to keep my toppings streamline and forgo the egg. I wanted to taste my burger and not over dress it. When my burger arrived, I was surprised to see two large patties under the bun. My burger was very tasty. It was on the lean side and the bun was disproportional to the patty, but that did not bother me. The sweet potato fries were excellent. Nowadays, it seems as if there is a «burger joint» popping up everywhere. This BRGR joint can hold its own against the competition.

My co-workers and I ordered lunch from here the other day, despite the fact that I loathe hamburgers. However they do have hot-dogs and salads on the menu as well. The girls all enjoyed their various burgers and I loved my chocolate shake, although my sweet potato fries were somewhat disappointing; maybe if they were crispy they would have been better? Anyway, the food was okay(except for the fries, which my co-worker had warned me about), so we’d probably order from here again!

Reasons why I will return to BRGR Joint. 1) They make a tasty Burger. 2) Sweet Potato fries. 3) They offer Eggs and Bacon to accompany any of your burger choices(this should be a requirement at any facility that offers burgers). 4) Fresh Beef makes a world of difference. 5) The Staff is friendly and accommodating. The burger was nicely done, and not overcooked. It has a nice crisp to it, and was still juicy and delicious. It wasn’t overly messy and was pretty well contained. Now, from other reviews you will see comparisons to other burger establishments, but this place can stand on its own. It’s better than a Five Guys(their burgers can be too greasy). It’s better than Elevation Burger(their burgers are too lean and they lack toppings). So give them a shot.

Some say that The Brgr Joint is just a copy of Five Guys Burgers. I may have to agree with them, but it doesn’t make the food any less tasty. Pluses for Brgr Joint: 1) good sweet potato fries for when you want something just a little bit sweet 2) great regular fries that are great for dipping with ketchup 3) great tasting burgers 4) they deliver I’ve had them delivered to my office before but I prefer to go to the restaurant and get the fries fresh out of the bag. Once they’ve been bag-steamed, they’re pretty much toasted and not good for much of anything.

Do you trust a review of a burger joint(ha!) from the gal who ordered a veggie burger with a fried egg on top??? Judge accordingly, but whatever you say, this review can’t be stopped! Walk in, and there’s art on every corner of the wall. Art’s an eye-popper, gets your senses going even before the burger bash begins :-). I cheated and went with the recommendations of fellow Unilocalpers: 1. The fried egg topping was a must-have with whatever burger I was getting. To me, it’s like meat a potatoes: they mesh together well. I refuse to eat un-meaty omelettes anyway ;-) or eggs without a meat to complement them. 2. You can’t go wrong with fries at a burger joint. If you miss out, then, really, how could you? I ordered the regular fries, my boyfriend ordered the sweet potato fries. All I can say is «too bad you can’t mix the two?» 3. Thank goodness for a «junior meal». Ok, so I ordered the veggie(V) burger, not meat, and I’ll tell you why: ambition was the name of the game and, hey, I was already going with the fried egg! The reason for the 3 stars? Perhaps it was my overambitious nature that night: the v-burger and the fried egg were the best of friends. But I would go back and order a meat burger with everything else constant anytime!

Is this the best burger place on the mainline? No. Can you argue it? Perhaps. Comparing it to Elevation Burger in my opinion, it is a lesser. The pros: patties are big, endless toppings, countless choices of other foods(hotdogs, grilled cheese, etc.), a great location for drunk college kids, and a TV with sports games(mostly the Phillies). The cons: The buns are miniature, as well as flat, so when you end up coming down to the last few bites, you have 3x more beef than bun. The employees seem like they don’t want to be there. I won’t even mention how unhealthy it is… In conclusion, I’d much rather waste 5 gas miles to go to Elevation to get $ 4.50 than spend $ 6 – 7 at this overpriced, over-hyped, mediocre burger shack.

BRGR = YUM. First, the place is very funky in a Sailor Jerry fashion. Well done with lots of red and black. Clean, well lit and comfortable. Service is walk up, where they were friendly and helpful. One of us got the grilled cheese(yes, a kid and yes, he liked it). One got the small burger w/chili. One got the meatloaf sandwich special. 2 regular fries, 1 sweet potato fry. Food was delivered to our table fast. First bite? YUM. Burger patty is not as thick(tt is instead wider) as some other places but very tasty. I DISLIKE about Five Guys that you must unhinge your jaw toe eat your burger. Meatloaf sandwich is a special and one you should not miss if they have it. Meaty, lots of flavor with a tangy sweet BBQ sauce on a potato bread bun. Sweet potato fries are delectible as were the regular fries. Highly recommend. We’ll be back.

As far as in-it-for-the-long-haul– fly-by-night burger joints go, this one is pretty rad for three reasons: 1. Sweet Potato Fries 2. Fried Eggs 3. Grilled vegetables …and those three things offer a nice way to spice up your vegetarian burger love affair on the cheap. (Oh, and the milkshakes are pretty spectacular too. actually, milkshakes + sweet potato fries, who could want more?)

BRGR had me upon seeing the Sailor Jerry style artwork and the LOVE likeness of its logo. And upon taking my first bite of a stacked burger with cheddar, barbecue sauce and bacon; I wanted to take it and whisk it back to the city with me. With a fully loaded burgers(one that can even be cranked as high as 11 patties if you feel like going OMG!), and plenty of toppings(Jalapenos! A-1 Sauce! Fried egg! Quacamole!) this joint is your meat hook up! in fact the one true flaw I found in the burger was that their veggie bean burger was the only one that seemed to be seriously lacking when I chowed down. but the fact that there one of the few burger joint that has a solid build your own salad deal is pretty quick to remedy that. the regular fries are pretty slamming, but the sweet potato ones might just be your salvation! and if your looking for shakes they definitely have some, including a pretty wicked flavor of the month1

Jim H, a fellow Unilocaler, tipped me off to a local foodie show that featured BRGR Joint in an episode. The food looked very similar to Five Guys. So, I checked Unilocal to see what people had to say. After reading Tim B’s review, it became difficult not to form preconceptions about this Bryn Mawr restaurant. So, I made plans to meet my brother here for lunch. After looking around for parking for a few minutes, I went inside and awaited my brother’s arrival. He drove right by the place. The exterior does not stick out from its surroundings. The first thing I noticed was the urban décor. The interior was way cooler than Five Guys. I ordered the turkey burger and sweet potato fries. My brother ordered a cheeseburger and regular fries. We split the food. Although the fries may come in a cup, the food food tasted nothing like the aforementioned Virginia-based burger chain. It’s much better. Also, the customer service was through the roof. I had a question about my sandwich and the staff handled it very professionally. Two different employees also approached us to make sure we were happy. BRGR is also peanut free, making it the complete antithesis to Five Guys. The Joint far exceed my expectations and blew away my preconceived notions. I’m a big fan.

Had lunch here while in the area. The burgers were pretty good, very«Shake Shack”-ish…though not quite there… The sweet potato fries were a great idea, but were a bit charred in parts and dry. I would come back to have a burger though.

The inside is awesome. They have a massive«tattoo» mural on the left side as you walk in with a subtle pirate theme. On a friend’s recommendation tried the regular BRGR(two patties) with bacon, cheese and an egg on top. The egg did it. Really tasty burger. They have the option to get sweet potato fries which I love. Coke Zero on fountain.(Maybe I’m weird but it’s rare to find and I love it.) They also have a mean fresh made black bean burger. Try it out.
