We ate here after shopping at Cabelas. I had fried catfish with cole slaw and fries. The catfish and cole slaw was good but the fries were bad. They were flat thick cut and not very good. My wife had the grilled lemon pepper trout and she said it was great. The main negative was our waitress. She was very inattentive. She forgot my cole slaw, never refilled my water glass, and I had to ask for ketchup and tater sauce. Otherwise it is a solid choice.

Worst service anywhere. Went in one day and waited over 10 minutes to order drinks. Waiter never came by. We left. Went in the next day. Same thing. We left again. Won’t be a third time.

Dirty knife, brown scrambled eggs. Reordered. New eggs came with a 12 in Hair in them. Floors were very slick. Yuck. I expect more from Cracker Barrel. I specifically looked up Cracker Barrel and GPSed it for a good breakfast. FAIL.

It’s Cracker Barrel. If you have been to one, you have been to all of them. The server didn’t seem to feel the need to refill our drinks regularly but the food was delicious. I also don’t think it was necessary for my order to be made fun of, I came for the chicken n dumplins, I will order the chicken n dumplins with side dishes of dumplins. Yeah, I will probably go back but most likely just order to go.

Loved our server, Zachary W. So sweet and attentive. Short wait for our table and got our food quickly. Our new favorite breakfast place.

I’m going to chock the whole awful experience to a completely unrealistic restaurant, designed for maximum profit, at the expense of their employees and their customers who are going to need coronary surgery after eating here more than a few dozen times. Our waitress was as nice as could be expected but I swear she must have had 30 tables by herself. Initially told we would have a 15 minute wait, was 30. Once we actually got to the host stand, 30 minutes after we arrived, we actually had to wait another 15 minutes before we were taken to be seated. This was pretty maddening basically standing in the middle of the walkway waiting for our table which was supposedly ready to go. Then once they finally got it cleared, they changed their plans, and put us at a different table that still had people at it. Yup, add another 5 or so minutes before they gave up on that idea and put us at the empty table that was originally ours, this is while now standing in the middle of a completely packed dining room. Maybe if they added alcohol to the menu, it would make waiting 50 minutes much more palatable, although I would have probably needed an entire bottle or two of wine to make this visit a positive one… The food wasn’t terrible, but for such insultingly unhealthy dishes, I definitely expected it to taste better. Actually pretty bland and definitely doesn’t taste like real Southern food which is not cooked using vegetable or canola oil like ours was. The last time I went to one of these was about 12 years ago back in South Carolina, and there is no comparison to that one and the completely contrived attempt at some sort of authenticity in this train wreck of a restaurant. Will not be going back, and I wouldn’t wish this place on anyone…

Had the fried catfish with all the fixings. Food was freshly prepared and served hot. Our waiter Noland was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Will be returning soon.

I had high hopes for Cracker Barrel. I was not to fond of the food. Turkey bacon was the best thing on the menu. No flavor to the food. I love the country store though!

Stay away, walked in to order to go and waited 35 min for food. That’s just the beginning after being brought my food the server insisted the chicken was cooked to perfection. Upon arrival to my house I opened the container to find a raw, yes completely pink, piece of chicken covered in BBQ sauce. When I took my meal back they insisted did they could not give me a refund because I paid with debit, which we all know is a form of plastic cash. Worst dining experience of my life stay away.

The service at this place is terrible. Not even half full and they can not keep our drinks filled. Brought biscuits without plates. Who knows what will be next. Poor compared to others.

Last night, I was craving fried catfish, mac and cheese, and greens, a meal that I ate quite often growing up in Mississippi. I didn’t want to drive far(Austin/San Marcos) to get it, so I ordered it to go from Cracker Barrel. I haven’t eaten Cracker Barrel very often and wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how great my meal was. The catfish was big, crispy, and juicy. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy and the turnip greens were as good as my mom’s, yummy and filled with lots of flavorful meat. I was very satisfied and will definitely be ordering this again!

soup and salad for $ 4.99, hit the spot for lunch, they were out of their lunch special before 1pm, chicken pot pie. Also had their chicken fried steak, it was pretty good for a chain restaurant. Service was courteous and nice, not a big fan of chain restaurants, but would recommend this place.

Cracker Barrel restaurant is often a hit or a big miss! I really want to love this restaurant but it is not that good, it was just okay. Most of the time the service is also sub par but when we went there for dinner last week, the service was great! Our server is fantastic, got all of our orders right and was so attentive refilling our drinks and condiments. Food is still the same tho! Food is okay although the serving size is good. Their little country store have so many cute items and pretty blouses but they are so expensive too! Overall, it is just an average 3 star restaurant.

The food is always fine here, I go to Cracker Barrel for the ambience and the shop anyways. Our hostess, Tyler, bless her heart must be having a rough day. She must be the most unhappy person in the building. It was a little amusing, actually, how unapproachable she was. Despite a wait for our drink order, our server Aimee made up for the experience. She was giddy and polite. Thanks girl!

Great service on thanksgiving. I must say for the person saying that the instant mash potatoe don’t compare to the instant. Stop Unilocaling now. Your stupid. Crackerbarrel has fresh mash potatoes. Thank you and have a happy thanksgiving

Mmmmmmm… Pioneer Brand powdered gravy mix for the biscuits and gravy I ordered-just like Grandma used to make… fun of. I think the next I don’t want to have a bad case of gastrointestinal disturbance I’ll stay at home and cook it from scratch.

Sorry CB lovers. Now I remember why I don’t go. Tried chicken and dumplings. Very bland. Not like my mom used to make. One small piece of tenderloin. That was moist however rest of plate was gravy and dough. I am sure this is a tried and true recipe loved by many but not my cup of tea. To me chicken and dumplings has big pieces of carrots and or celery and the dumplings are cooked on top of the simmering gravy and look like muffins. My mom made them out of bisquik. Salad crispy and broccoli was good. Always corn muffins good as well. I think both Shirley’s pork chop was dry and Jeff’s meatloaf dry as well. It is always cool though to walk around the Country Store. Waitstaff good. So the 2 stars is for food alone.

This place has gone to the dogs… I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was bone dry. Biscuits were rocks and my greens were terrible.
