It takes one really bad product to make the good stuff not so good… I like the salsas. They’re fine but that weird queso stuff, what is that? I got a little excited and bought 2 jars thinking it had to be good but was I wrong! I gave it a double take, just to make sure then it and an unopened jar went right in the trash. That’s like 7 bucks I threw away. I had to read the label and it’s not even cheese, it’s corn starch. If it tasted good I could overlook the corn starch and the weird texture. Ah, the texture, I just remembered what it reminds me of: as a kid I had this stuff that came in a tiny garbage can called«Slime». That is exactly the texture of that«queso» — you should respect your consumers a little more. Panning that off as cheese is an insult.

They have great salsas and dips made locally. They are a good value at regular price, but check out the discounted area to try somw new items. If you like salsa this is a must visit business.

This review is specifically for D.L. Jardine’s Habanero Salsa(XXX Hot). It is the very BEST canned or jarred salsa I have ever eaten — and I am over 60 years old and have eaten many gallons of salsa in my lifetime. This salsa is hot but not so hot that you cannot enjoy the flavors and textures. Even though it is a bit too high in sodium, the flavors alone trump the excessive sodium content and allow me to award this product 5 stars. I received this as a gift and am now looking for a store that carries the product. I called Jardine and they said Whole Foods carries it — so Whole Foods, here I come!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for these guys yet! We buy HUNDREDS of gift sets of salsa every Christmas to send out to clients… and we get them all here! This year they were outsourcing all of the mailing of the gift sets… the company is somewhere up north and they were awesome to work with. I’ve never met such accomodating people… wonderful customer service. Not only did they all know me by name because of the large order, Jardine’s was also communicating with them constantly so there was never any drop in communication between them and the company sending the product out! Now to the product… their salsas are delicious… really creative… this year we did the fruit salsas and they are wonderful with chips, but I could also see them poured over some cream cheese and eaten with crackers or even used in some sort of marinade for chicken… i’m thinking there are limitless ways that this salsa could be savored. Like Andrea said, they are local… and they are good people… so start eatin’ some Jardine’s salsa!
