Sweet Cakes 4 U

Stopped in here on Saturday afternoon. We ordered 2 slices of Tiramisu cake, 1 chocolate explosion cake, 1 carrot cake, a chocolate cupcake and a cookie. All of it was soooo good! Each slice tasted very fresh and moist. I loved the whip cream topping for the chocolate explosion cake. Im not a huge fan of buttercream frosting so this was perfect me. I will defiantly come back in to try some other items :)

I tried the strawberry cake slice. It was delicious. Very poor customer service. Not friendly. answered my questions with a yes or no answer. I tried being talkative mentioning I was checking the place out for the first time and got no answer back. It made me feel like my visit didn’t matter.

They’re super personable, their cakes are INCREDIBLE and their prices are spot on for what you get. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and would know because I went to 5 other cake bakeries and got shoddy treatment at BEST before walking in to Sweet Cakes 4 U and knowing instantly, by the way they greeted me genuinely, that this place had earned my business! Did I mention that their cakes are mouthwateringly delicious?! ;) I got the Tuxedo and it was the perfect balance of chocolate to vanilla.

The cakes are ok but for the price i expected more overall.

AMAZING! I cannot say more positive things about this bakery. I completely forgot to order my daughters birthday cake and in a panic, called Sweet Cakes 4 U (recommended from another person I know), they had one spot left and squeezed me in! I ordered the Raspberry and White Chocolate… OMG…The. Best. Cake. Ever. It was an enormous cake and there was nothing left of it by the end of the party. I highly recommend them!

The first stop on our Austin trip is actually this bakery! Our friend’s mom is a huge fan, admitted to even eating a whole cake herself. …and that’s why we weren’t allowed to get a whole cake haha
Just kidding, she wanted us all to pick up a slice to enjoy after BBQ.
There were samples of brownies and cinnamon crumb cake at the store and they were amazing! I was super excited to eat my cake. Unfortunately we got too fully after BBQ and did not end up eating our slices. Luckily… we got cupcakes to go along with our cakes (LOL.) and had that before BBQ. It was a delicious treat with our tea. I tried the strawberry cupcake, chocolate cupcake, and a bite of the German chocolate cake. All delicious! Wish I could have eaten/​tried more slices.

Simply amazing. Today I had a slice of their strawberry cake and can not even begin to describe how ridiculously good it was. It was super moist, strong strawberry flavor with bits of real strawberry here and there throughout the cake. Their cakes are chilled so that made it even that much more refreshing and wonderful!
The store is cheerful and clean, the ladies are nice so you MUST make a trip over there! I would definitely recommend them too if you need a cake for a special occasion.

The pineapple cake is wonderful. And the strawberry. And lemon. Buda is lucky to have this gem!

I bought my sons birthday cake from here. The staff is nice. They don’t do any themed or specialized type of cake decorating, this is just more of a traditional cake shop which was okay with me :) I had planned to add on my own decorations. The cake was fresh, and extremely good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good birthday cake.

Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! I had the cheesecake yesterday and went back today for a slice of black and white cake. Some of the best buttercream I have ever had. Cupcakes are fun, but there is something about a slice, big slice at that, that is fun. I will definitely stop next time I’m in the area. Worth the drive and such friendly ladies.

The cakes were delicious! We had chocolate and coconut cream. They were both melt in your mouth. Will be back often.

My review is purely based on their customer service and overall business practices and if I could give 2.5 stars, I would as I don’t want to penalize them too much since I’ve never tried their food.
That being said, I wanted a birthday cake for my wife and was searching for bakeries close to home, so this place certainly seemed to fit the bill. I couldn’t find a website, but they do have their menu on their Facebook page, so that works. Unfortunately for me, looking about 6 days ahead of time, their menu says to allow 1 – 2 weeks lead time for whole cakes. Now maybe this is a 1 person operation, but it seems to me (especially having been in retail food service for decades) that 1 – 2 weeks is a bit steep in terms of expecting orders to be placed.
I couldn’t find an email address anywhere, so I just sent a Facebook message asking what the options were. They obviously have cakes daily, and I do see where they claim to specialize in selling cake slices, but I thought it didn’t hurt to ask and see what the options were. I wasn’t picky; I just wanted a good cake for my wife.
Their answer, in it’s entirety, was «We will not this week. Thank you»
I guess I should feel blessed they said thank you, but to me, their answer was completely unhelpful. A true customer service approach would have been to say any of the following:
1. I’m sorry but we’re a very small operation and we just don’t have the staff to take special orders in under a week. But we’d be happy to put together a collection of delicious slices (or other baked treats) packaged together if that would help.
2. I’m sorry we can’t accommodate that request, but we’d love to make your next cake for you. Here’s the best way to reach us. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
3. I’m sorry we don’t really do small special orders but there’s another bakery in the Hays County area that does specialize in that and they are. .. .
Anything along those lines would have both encouraged me to try them later and would have left me feeling good despite them not being able to accommodate me.

Great tasting cakes — red velvet is heavenly, not too sweet, moist and tasty… the owner is so friendly too… if you are on a diet, this place will tempt you to sweets, sweets and more sweets… The place also has good ambiance even it is on the roadside. Shops like this keep Buda «breathe easy». Great sweets!

This place is amazing. Honestly the best carrot cake I have ever had. Everyone that works there is equally as sweet as the cake, very nice, helpful, free samples yummm!
My only complaint is how addicting it is! Love this place.

Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! No better way to describe it. Only pitfall of this place is that I just moved my business right next to them and boy am I in trouble LOL! My have to chunk the weight scale!

The best cake ever in Central Texas area that I have tried. I love their cakes because they are not too sweet, fresh and good price. There are triple chocolate, Tiramisu, tres leches and white chocolate frosty that I had. I will go back to try some more delicious cakes and I know they made with love! yumm^^~

So nice to have a real bakery in Buda! I’ve had quite a few of their cakes, cupcakes, and various sweet breads. Everything has been delicious and is always fresh. Anyone near this place, MUST try it.

This is a fantastic cake shop!!! Dolores made all of the cakes for my wedding reception and the guests raved about them. We had a dessert reception so we wanted variety rather than a typical wedding cake. We had Triple Chocolate, Italian Cream, Tiramisu, Carrot, and German Chocolate sheet cakes and they were wonderful. You can get sheet cakes in three sizes or round cakes to meet every need. Dolores was sweet to work with and had everything ready on time. I live in Austin but I will gladly drive to Buda for my cakes. They are worth it.

I came home from school looking for a snack, thankful to find two (although mostly eaten) cakes on the table. Italian Cream and (most possibly) The Triple «C», I was told they were made from scratch by my mother and I was given a brochure to more cakes! I can’t wait to try some others, finding the cakes I had were very amazing. c: I hope to see this bakery grow.
