Will never go here again. First experience I removed a 4’x6’ section of grass that filled maybe 3 wheel barrows for a small garden. They charged me $ 35 «minimum charge» to dispose. Second experience a few weeks later I had a small pickup truck load of brick that they charged me $ 5 to dispose of. I couldn’t believe they charge more for grass and dirt then brick! My last experience was taking 5 boxes from Christmas gifts with all Styrofoam removed to them for recycle. They charged me $ 5 again. Why charge for recycle goods? This place is ridiculous. Will not go back.

Came here to dump a broken TV. The process was quick and easy. You just pay, dump whatever in a giant bin, then leave. The only problem I had was the price, which they charged $ 45 even though it was just one TV. They told us it was the minimum fee. I suppose it would be more reasonable if I had a pickup full of trash, but I just needed to throw away a single TV. This place should accommodate for smaller loads. $ 45 to throw away a TV is ridiculous.

TDS did an AMAZING job during ACL fest! I had the opportunity to use their VIP restroom trailers as well as event ground portable restrooms. They were very clean, never ran out of toilet paper and were serviced promptly! I believe this was their first time to supply the toilets this year and they did a fantastic job! Love this company and the people who work there deserve the praise for all their hard work on such a large event! Their guys were truly on point and handled everything so well. I have already recommended their portable toilets to a handful of large event coordinators in the Austin area as well as passed Ryan’s contact info along to all my home builder clients. Job well done by the portable toilet crew!

DO NOT EXPECT TO BE CHARGED CONSISTENTLY EVER
It seems like it is whoever comes look at your load throws a number out there to see if you’ll buy it or get pissed off and drive away (which I have seen people do). Two hours ago I went and dumped off some fencing I tore down, $ 5.00. Came back with the second load, this times it is $ 45.00. Same materials, stacked about 12″ higher than first load, just different person looking at it. I was expecting $ 10-​$ 15 or so for the increased volume since it went above the bed of the truck unlike the first load.
Reason being, I was told, the second load had treated materials. Same crud as first load! The person who looked at the first load looked a lot harder than the second person who just glanced at it and shot the price at me. I even asked the first person how much it would cost to dump the posts with concrete on them and she said a minimum of $ 90 since I had to pay minimum tonnage for garbage and non-​recycleable due to the treated wood and concrete. Now this second guys says its $ 45 for the minimum since my materials is non-​recycleable garbage. Seriously… WHAT THE HELL?
This isn’t the first time it has happened but since it is the only place I have to dump bulky items I am forced to suck it up and pay. Or leave it in my yard for my neighbors and the City to complain about.
I’ve taken bushes and tree limbs plenty of time with inconsistent charging as well. First charged $ 5. Go again later the same day and its $ 15. The volume (stacked no higher than the top of the truck cab & inside the plane of the truck bed sides) was practically the same. I don’t know if the first person took into account the amount of air between the brush limbs or what but for Pete’s sake be consistent across the board.
There’s you nothing you can do about it. You can vent at the gate guys but why waste your breath. You got to dump your junk off so expect to put down what the house says you have to put down.
Oh and if you happen to have a truck with a company logo on it. Then you are now commercial customer and the minimum is going like $ 75 or $ 95 dollars if you don’t have an account. I forgot which dollar amount but it would probably change by the hour regardless.
Plus side, the guys at the dump area next to the resale shop are always helpful and usually cheer me up after the gate has managed to piss me off and rob me.

Excellent place got their little late but they let me and also even though I had a big truck after checking the recyclable content There was no charge at all everybody was very friendly and very helpful I know where to go from now on

Okay so they are a trash company that loudly proclaims that they keep all these exotic wild animals on their trash land. They also have a couple of super fancy ranch houses on their exotic animal ranch.
But you and I aren’t invited to look at the giraffes and the rhinos. And we are definitely not invited to the ranch house.
So, bottom line: you are paying for the 1%ers to have a fancy exotic animal ranch that you are not invited to. School kids can’t even get field trips. You are paying for a private rich peoples zoo.
Don’t fall for it. It’s a scam.

Overcharged… because the only truck I had was a company pickup for household trash… so instead of $ 35, they gouged me for $ 70 for less than a pickup load. No trailer… rip off.
We have been TDS customers for a long time and very happy with their service… Gardenville, TDS, Wildlife Ranch, etc… sad to say that this experience stinks worse than the trash we left behind.

These people came by door to door the weekend before last and my wife signed up to switch residential trash and recycling services while I wasn’t home.
In the week and two days since then, I have been trying to get in touch with them to give them our information and set up a start date.
First, I was on hold for over 5 minutes and never got a live person to speak with. So, I emailed and the customer service person emailed back later that day. Said that since the change was done over the weekend, that she wasn’t able to find the contract yet. She would do so, then call me back to get the start date and get my payment info.
Seemed like a great deal. It was half price for what my current residential trash service/​recycling is.
Fast forward to yesterday. I respond back to the email saying I haven’t been contacted back. Copied some of the higher ups in the company.
Got an email back from someone last night apologizing and offering to give me the first month of service for free. Just call and speak with Crystal and she can get you set up.
This morning, I called Crystal and left a message. There’s been no reply.
The contract only allows for cancellation within a week of signing, but I’m asking for them to release me now. Not like they’ve actually done anything.
The «customer service» is non-​existent. Buyer beware.

The best price around for a roll-​off dumpster. I needed the big one, 40 yards, to haul off a bunch of cedars that I cut down in Driftwood. I had planned on mulching them myself with the chipper I bought, but I quickly realized it would take me a few months, or years…
They recycle them into mulch, and you get a discount for an all brush load.

So to make more room for the little one to play, I tore down an old shed in our backyard, which was incredibly fun. I forgot how much fun destruction could be. Of course, the clean up afterward sucks and I ended up with a U-​haul trailer full of rotten boards and siding and shingles, lots of shingles. And then I drove it over to Texas Disposal Systems…
My advice:
Read the FAQ on their website before you go. They answer all your questions
Website actually says car with trailer is $ 70, but they only charged me $ 35.
Go as early as you can, like right when they open — As helpful and nice as the staff is, it’s a process to get in, and if there are several folks in front of you, it can take a while.
I don’t care if it’s the middle of summer — Cover yourself. When the wind blows, it can get nasty. Wear a long sleeve shirt, jeans and gloves.

DISCLOSURE: I’ve never been to a landfill before so I really don’t know how to rate such a place without a comparison.
My 5 stars is based on what I expected and what it actually was, in addition to hearsay. Apparently this is the best organized and cleanest landfill you’ll find close enough to Austin. I’ve heard horrible things about the one North of Austin, from good sources such as contract workers and business owners.
There’s a section for commercial trucks that get weighed going in and then weighed going out to determine how much junk and trash they are dumping.
For personal use, you go through a gate where a person comes out and measures the dimensions of the junk/​trash contents in your truck or trailer or the weight of your once have-​been-​perhaps-​once-​valuable contents.
Make sure when you are filtering trash you do not throw some metal items, 4 by 4s that are unpainted and without nails, etc. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. And it helps keep our landfills empty of things that can be re-​used. In fact, there’s a section where you can purchase items people didn’t necessarily think was trash.
Be prepared to see cockroaches, lots of them. It may be clean as far as landfills go but it attracts roaches like a rotten mango attracts flies.
A few tips:
1 — Take cash — you’ll pay less if you pay in cash versus credit card.
2 — Take workman’s gloves to pick up the stuff and chuck it in the containers below.
3 — You may also want to take sunglasses and a mask/​handkerchief to protect you from dust and cockroach remains (if you have bad allergies).

TDS has many services including garbage/​recycling service for folks outside the City of Austin Solid Waste Services service area. This review is specific to their private landfill which has convenient hours for the homeowner even on Saturday.
The landfill is located on FM 1327 (one exit south of Onion Creek), about 3 miles east of I-​35.
They have separate areas for yard waste (use biodegradable bags such as the big paper ones), trash, and metal, so consider that when loading your truck.

Please, Please do not do business with these people. As a customer for ten years, I have spent thousands of dollars with TDS having them pick up our dumpster each week at our retail store. A few months ago, some of the garbage got stuck in the dumpster. I called them and they sent the driver back out. He picked up the dumpster with the truck, lifted it upside down, and then placed it back on the pad with the garbage still inside, and then drove off. I called TDS again they refused to pick up the garbage that had gotten stuck in their dumpster. the customer «service» woman actually said «we are not going to dig around in your garbage» which was exactly what I thought I had been paying them for…
well, after fighting with them for months, my three year contract expired and I have replaced them with a company that provides a dumpster twice as big for the same price I was paying TDS. and the new company doesn’t yell at me!

I’m on the verge of being three decades old, and I had never been to a dump until this morning. Boy, had I been missing out!
Yesterday morning, we woke up determined to clear out all the demolition wreckage that had been sitting by our driveway for the past month (major bathroom remodel): I’m talking a mound of moldy sheet rock, vinyl, bathtub, toilet, trim, cardboard — it was an ugly sight. (Although, it was a great landmark for my out-​of-​town friends driving in from the airport who were trying to find the house in the dark — it’s the one with the toilet next to mailbox!)
Someone mysteriously took our old toilet away (hope you are enjoying many a good flush, whoever you are!), but we still managed to fill every square inch of my boyfriend’s 1987 Dodge Ram cab-​enclosed truck, even after I stomped up and down on the wet cardboard.
After a nerve-​wracking drive to the TDSL (the engine was straining due to the heavy load and rear view mirror visibility was limited), we drove up to the front gates to find it CLOSED. Sorry folks — even the garbage men need to take Sunday off. So, if that drive wasn’t scary enough, we went back at 6:30 this morning, through the fog, hoping not to get rear ended by an 18-​wheeler — but, we made it safely.
We emptied the truck in 15 minutes, and the total dumping charge was $ 17 dollars. A nice, older fellow took the bathtub from us, either to be recycled or stocked in their «dump store»: chairs, lawn and gardening equipment, appliances, bicycles, old signs — unfortunately, we didn’t have time to check out the goods.
Who knew?!
p. s. Another feature we didn’t have a chance to check out: Garden-​Ville, adjacent to the Landfill, is a subsidiary that makes organic gardening products including compost, soil blends, fertilizers and organic pest controls for both horticulture professionals and home gardeners.
Now, that’s true recycling.
