Awoolim Kimbap is located inside Hmart market. I love this place and the food. Can’t get enough of it. My bf and I come here every weekend since we live close by. I always order the rice punch slush to start off and order variety of other food. This place reminds me of the street food I’ve tasted while I was in Korea. but I think Awoolim is much better. More flavorful. Overall I’m a FAN! Happy customer ^^

It is located inside of the H-Mart Supermarket. They have 3 different menus with similar items, but a different cook I believe. My boyfriend and I ordered the curry tonkatsu and spicy tofu soup. It was more than enough food for the both of us. They have a variety of snacks and food that I wanted to try, but I was already too full.

I am extremely disappointed with the service here. A fellow customer had asked for separated ingredients for togo so she can eat it fresh when she gets home. However, the manager, i presume, gave it to her in a disrespectful fashion. I understand that it may have taken more time, but aren’t the needs of customers more important? Personal preferences should not be revealed to customers and even it is, it should be done in a respectful manner. The lady received the ingredients with the spicy rice cake sauce leaking from the bag. I am extremely disappointed and I recommend not going to this place. I will never come here again for the food because he does not have the common work ethics and does not know how to treat his customers. If you want similar types of food, I suggest going to(Jjang Boon Shik) which is just across the street or Han Nam Chain’s food court.

Today I went to eat kimpap and spicy rice cake. I asked for a dish but all they gave me was a plastic lid. It specifically says do not microwave but putting hot contents in the plastic is incredibly unhealthy for the consumer. I said this and the lady asked if I wanted the ingredients separately. After I paid, the owner complained the whole time in that process. I asked if he was the owner and he said he was. However I thought the branch in diamond bar was the owner and he yelled at me to go complain to him. I at first thought the young workers quit because of personal reasons. Nevertheless I now know that the«manager» has no common ethics. He needs to learn to treat his customers with respect. I am extremely disappointed and I do not want to eat food that was made by such a man. Thank you.

Went with expectations of a decent service but was met with unexceptable scorn from the manager after asking for a simple request. Not much different from many other orders Im sure and yet, from the manager, was yelled at. Not. Cool.

Best Kimbabs at the best prices!!! If you’re hungry and craving some Korean sushi rolls, the place to be. It’s a small food court in H mart and there are some tables inside and outside. They also have a variety of food from ddukbokee to fish cake soup and other soups and food as well. If you’re low on budget and want good food, go inside H Mart, get some good food and do grocery shopping after(:

This place has no regard for human allergies. Asked not to put sesame seeds due to allergic and told me to pound sand and would not make it for me. Why I do not even know. Don’t buy food here.

This Korean food eatery is located inside HMart. There is also some seating inside the grocery store but don’t expect fancy ambiance and whatnot. With that being said… MAN the food here is surprisingly good. Their kimbap(Korean sushi roll???) is unlike any kimbap I’ve ever had. They don’t put as much rice so the flavors really shine. A good starting roll is the BBQ beef roll. They also sell half sizes for ~$ 3.50 so if you’re looking for something small to eat, you can order that. Awoolim is more than just a kimbap factory. Besides the kimbap, they sell all kinds of Korean street food, such as spicy rice cake, odang, soondae, fried dumpling, fried chicken, and so forth. They even have a shikhae slush, which is really refreshing. All in all, if you are craving some Korean food, consider giving this place a try. Though it’s not its own restaurant, I’d say that the food quality is better than many of the Korean restaurants out there. The parking lot can be crowded, so it might require some patience getting a spot. There are 30 minute spots and 2 hour spots.

The fried chicken here is a must have. Allot of items available ala carte and on display. soondae, korean blood(pig) n brown rice sausage here r decent. Prices r muy bueno and I dig the communal seating. Located inside Hmart… super convenient… Ask for the fried chicken, u can thank me later.

Awoolim Kimbap Factory is located inside the H Mart Supermarket. You can see the dishes being prepared and cooked. What is a Kimbap? To me it’s basically like a sushi roll, but instead of raw fish, they put other items in it. The appearance is basically like a sushi roll Here’s the rundown: Assorted Kimbap — The flavors were Tuna, ground beef? and vegetables. My favorite was the Tuna, yes it was like eating a tuna sandwich, but with rice. lol. Don’t knock it until you try it. The ground beef didn’t work for me though. The vegetables were just okay IMO. They also have Katsu Kimbap, I might try that one in the future. Bibimbap — This was a winner for me. Delicious. A perfect match of everything in this dish. The egg being the topper(a bit over cooked) was good. Shrimp Tempura Udon — The broth was good, the udon was perfectly cooked. The shrimp tempura(served separately, not in the broth, YES!) was just okay as well. Only one piece. Fried Dumplings — This was just okay for me as well. It was fried nicely, but it was lacking in the meat area. The service was fast and helpful The price was very reasonable. Rating: 3 ½ Stars If you’re looking for a quick bite while shopping at H Mart. Come here and enjoy the various dishes they offer. It might surprise you =) 2015 Review #121

My friend and I came here to shop in hmart on our lunch break, found this place by accident and boy we are glad! Prices are super cheap compared to other restaurants around here and quality is even better. Food tasted really really good, although miso soup was bland. Can’t wait to try galbi next time! Vegetable bibimbap –6.99 $ Grilled chicken –7.99 $ Pros: Super convenient when shopping Cheap prices Good quality meat Delicious food Cons: None Not a con, but we have to stack our dirty dishes on the rack after we are done, it’s a bit off putting to see dirty dishes when entering into the eating area.

I came here specifically to try the Korean rice punch slush(shikhae slush) and OMG it was so good! It was not too sweet but super refreshing, and even had rice in it like actual shikhae! And for $ 2 – 3, it can’t be beat. I also tried the bulgogi tacos, which were amazing as well :3 you get 2 for $ 2.50 but are a bit small, so if you’re hungry you should definitely try some other things on their menu! But when I went, I wasn’t that hungry so the 2 tacos filled me up fine. Service is very quick, and everyone there is so friendly! It’s a great place for a quick bite :)

Hungry while shopping, or just hungry period? Don’t want to shop on a hungry stomach? Craving some good, authentic style Korean food without having to put up with the sit down Korean restaurant? Located right inside HMart, Awoolim Kimbap Factory has a reasonably priced menu with delicious Korean food offerings. I’ve had a few different entrees at Awoolim Kimbap Factory sit down and to go. I have to say that sit down portions are much better than to go as is the presentation. The lunch box chicken entrée is one of my favorites. Move over flame broiler, this is 10x better and the quantity is of much better value. For $ 7.50 you get a large portion of chicken, rice, miso soup and salad, vs the small $ 5 bowl you get at flame broiler. Same great bbq flavors in my opinion, if not better at Awoolim Kimbap Factory. The dinner menu changes after 7pm. I ordered the Tomkatsu chicken katsu with rice topped smothered in Korean/Japanese curry and the hot stone pot bibimbap. The Tomkatsu is a large serving and has more of an indian curry flavor to it compared to other asian curries; I like it… The hot stone pot bibimbap is as good if not better than sit down restaurant bibimbaps. Great, convenient in-grocery restaurant to have an informal lunch or dinner. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Happy it’s in the area.

3.5 Stars but the level of food and price rounds to an overall 3 Stars. LOCATION: Beach Blvd. and Malvern Ave. within the H-Mart Korean Grocery store. A convenience when shopping for K-Groceries, which is kind the format for these types of business. Parking during prime times such as lunch, dinner, and weekends make this whole strip mall«hustle and bustle» with very limited parking(bad drivers… uh…you’ll understand when you come here… plus annoyed parking hunter s=not a good stew of happiness). The updated looking subleased store is clean and presents it’s food well, though the menu is a bit annoying if you’re not use to the K-format. But at least they give you line drawings of the food for that cartoon visual feel of shopping??? FOOD: This is a bit of an odd food set up to US standards, but more like a fast food K-format. Kimbap(or Gimbap) is in appropriately in it’s name, which is a popular«seaweed rice roll», is their standard and even has the infused kind. It’s good as an average standard to reference with but the infused/altered ones are a hit and miss for me(though well liked by many). They have many other dishes that are also overall good, again consider it to be a US standard point of reference, from the Ddukboki to the Neng Myun. I do like their drinks, especially the mid grade made Shik Hye(takes a while to make it pure from scratch K-style). Get the regular size cup for the drinks since the large is almost the same. SERVICE: Knock on wood, another fortunate situation that I’ve been given. Its either been a passive K-service, which is good in old school K-standards, to really pleasant. PRICE: It’s decent but a bit higher for what it should be. If buying a lot of items, then you feel like you’re paying restaurant prices without the whole experience. For a shopping center store within a store it should be somewhat less or a bit more food… either way. MYGRAINOFSALT: I came to the opening of Awoolom/H-Mart and have see it’s success. With a LA location I’ve tried them before. Their name is self explanatory on their specialty is, but also serving a lot of the typical Korean street food. Buena Park, CA is becoming the new K-town especially with the big H-Mart add on. Even starting to over shadow the K-section of old Garden Grove. I don’t do the fast food chain thing unless someone else suggest us to go. So for me this is fast food for almost the same price for the quality. Of course as time goes by there will be less freshness and stock availability so keep that in mind…“it ain’t no Mc Kimbob: P.” Call it as it is… a fancy food court service that’s actually good, ergo why I frequent this place so much:)

I came here since I knew that I would be close by and wanted to try this location. The time I went there they were running a bit low on choices of kimbap since I only saw burdock packages along with the ddukbokki, odeng/eomuk, soondae(blood sausage), and spicy chicken legs. For $ 5 inari package, it was ok. They didn’t have any tuna kimbap so I just got inari, pretty tasty. Last call to order is at 8 when they close. Located on the left side inside H-mart. They take card.

I normally don’t write a review after visiting my first time… But I really liked this place a lot. It’s a small joint located inside H Mart, you really can’t miss it. They have so many street food choices and varieties of kimbap, I thought I was in heaven… I also tried their jjolmyun, which was pretty delicious. I am coming back here for more food man.

My boyfriend and I shared a beef kimbap and we thought it was decent. It costed $ 6, tax included. The taste of the beef was more like tuna, oddly. It was nice how they put in a good amount of meat and other vegetables. Overall, there were plenty of other things to order and the menu looked abundant in choices.

Not bad. You grab your choice of kimbab then order other menu items and pay at the cash register. They have a variety of Korean street cart foods. Kimbab choices consists of tuna, spicy sausage, beef, fish cake, and veggies. They have one that comes with a sampler of 4 kimbabs. Their menu also includes ddukboki(spicy rice cake) and fish cake yakitori. Soups are available also: soontofu, kimchi jjeegae, daenjangjjigae, and yoogaejang. Bento boxes prices range from $ 6.99−8.99. Most reviews below complain about the price it’s worth it cause you get variety. An odeng on a stick is $ 1, small ddukbohgi $ 3, soondae $ 3, along with more small dishes like mandoo. Everything’s pretty yummy. Shikae slush is okay. I don’t see what the big deal is though. To me it justs tastes like Shike with crushed ice. Pretty Refreshing but its just shikae. Small size is $ 2. I recommend trying this place if you’re grocery shopping at H Mart market. I would come often if I lived in the area.

I just wanted to try their Kim Bap see if they are as perfect as one in LA. By the time I got there it was 30 minutes before their closing time so all Kim Bap were sold out already. I ordered Chung gook jang and Don katsu. Chung gook jang(fermented soy bean soup — it is supposedly fermented like yogurt so it is quite different from Den Jang): I like it very nutty, not too mushy, not too salty, no kimchi or red pepper powder, but more of lean meat, tofu pieces and mushrooms. For its price, it is ok flavored here but definitely not the best kind that I am looking for. Don Katsu(pork cutlet): if you wanna serve you with a huge portion at a low price, order this. But overall this tastes less than ok. TI just want to try their kim bap next time I am here. The tables were sooo dirty and floor is messy, I just had to do some major table cleaning before I sit.
