First and foremost I want to say that Esther and Kiran are the most generous, friendly, and amazing servers. They were nothing short of perfect. They made conversation, answered our questions on the types of side dishes and foods served. They both made us, myself, Gloria and Abraham, comfortable on our visit. It was the first time Abraham and Gloria had been to Buena Park and to Korean BBQ as well. I am beyond relieved I chose this restraunt as their first experience in a new and foreign culture. Last Saturday was my first time out here as well and at that time as well, the staff made me feel at home at a strange place. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back and with other first timers. The food was beyond great. Recommendations for popular dishes were made, a sample of pomegranate so just and help in cooking the meat. The marinated bulgogi has to be the best part along with(spicy cucumber side) and the sweet potatoes.

Their service is good. The cold noodles(Mool Neng Myun) was spot on good. Their chewy spicy noodles w/veggies(chol-myun) was also very good. Some other dishes we had were steamed kimchi dumplings(kimchi mandoo). Pretty tasty, except the skin was very weak and kept tearing when we pulled the dumplings off the steamer paper. But taste was very good. We also had fried pork cutlet which was crisp and tastee. And SoonDae(blood sausage) which may be an acquired taste for some. FIVESTARS: But stellar out of the park good was their pan fried pork over rice, with a side cabbage slaw. It had a roasted, black bean undernote that made the dish have a bbq essence that was quite nice. Their soda is free and self serve. They have hot barley tea for free /self serve as well. Their water is filtered and tasted great. The portions are generous enough where you can share. They have a wide selection of dishes. It will be worthwile to go back and try more.

This place is awesome! I grew up in what’s now called Korea town in Los Angeles and I’ve acquired a taste for good Korean food. This little gem is as authentic as can be! The owner Mr. Park is the owner/chef and can make a killer(champon) along with various other dishes that will burst in your mouth with flavor some of the dishes I recommend are the sweet and sour pork, the beef or pork over rice, the fried or steamed dumplings and of course my favorite champon just to mention a few. One other tid-bit that you just don’t find in most maw & paw restaurants anymore is the bottomless fountain drinks, either way you can’t go wrong here because I’m able to feed my fambam of 5 for around $ 60.00??? Yeap in today’s world that alone is the bar tab. Try it you’ll like it! Cheers!

Good food & good prices! Their lunch menu is 5.99 for most items. Ordered kimchi fried rice, kimbap, ramen, kimchi dumplings, and a short rib rice bowl. I love how Korean restaurants always gives sides like kimchi, radish and others. They go so well with all their dishes. Kimchi fried rice– delicious! Comes with an egg on top. Yuuuum Kimbap– I believe it comes with 20 pieces. It was delicious as well. We had to save it for the road Ramen– it’s decent. Pretty much like packaged ramen, but it’s not bad Kimchi dumplings– I love dumplings and I love kimchi! So this is a must for me Short rib rice bowl– didn’t eat much, but It was ok to me. My boyfriend enjoyed it though I really like how this place gives free soda as well!

It’s a decent place to get some Korean food. But what makes this place different from all the other little Korean spots? The ajushi(owner) actually makes the food… yes, it’s not some Hispanic dude back there making it, it’s an actual Korean dude making your food. The last time I was there, I had the Jjah jang myung(Black Bean Noodles) and it was alright. I prefer the noodles to be much chewier, and it was just too mushy. The parking is decent, as it’s a part of a bigger shopping plaza.

Great service and opens late! Everyone there is really nice and they have huge portions. We order the japchae, the Korean wings, and the seafood noodle soup. It was way too much food for two people and we ended up having a lot of leftovers. The food was okay but it’s great for a late night dinner especially if you’re on a budget.

If you want legit Korean food at a good price and don’t care for fancy ambiance, you will love Man Doo Rang just as much as we did. Since it was a farewell meal, we wanted a meal representative of the food here that our buddy wouldn’t be able to enjoy as easily in NorCal. There were 11 in our party and we also didn’t want to wait too long to be seated since we were already starving after choir. Man Doo Rang fit the bill perfectly with zero wait time because the long table in the middle of the restaurant was available when we walked through the door. The large menu posted on the wall made deciding go even faster in my opinion. The portion sizes are HUGE, which is a good thing when the food is good. Their freshly made kimchi dumplings are a must-get. The dumplings are very delicate and not too overpowering in flavor(which I could see as easily happening with kimchi dumplings). The fried potstickers have quite thick skin but those who like their fried foods enjoyed them. Another hit was the seafood noodle soup, which has a variety of seafood in a bright red soup, which is not as spicy as it looks. This is way worth it. Another popular item is their beef or pork«topping“s with rice. The beef was good — not top quality cuts but solid, well-flavored and generous in portion. It reminded me of Gushi at UCLA, a long-standing popular spot among college students for its consistently tasty Korean BBQ and large portions. If you can handle your spice, get the dukboki with ramen. This is one of those dishes that reminds you why Korean food has a special way of making your heart happy. Yea, it’s heavy on carbs but you can always run that off the next day ;) The only thing we ordered that I thought was just okay was the jja jiang myun with buckwheat noodles(yes, I suggested buckwheat over regular noodles to be «healthier»). The sauce was not anything special and almost bland. This was easily forgotten since everyone else was so tasty. Drinks are self-serve so you can mix different sodas together or help yourself to more water if you need it for the spicy dishes. Everyone in our party left the restaurant with an excellent opinion of the restaurant, having enjoyed the different dishes and sharing which ones they liked the best. We also left with very full bellies and a happy memory of a meal with a beloved friend before her move.

Food: they serve a variety of different ethnic Asian food but mainly Korean. Ate a variety of the dishes. Reminds me of what my mom and grandma use to make me. Love the authentic feel of the ramen coming out in a beat up steel pot. They serve authentic Korean dishes that you would get at a street vendor in Korea. They offer free fountain drinks as well as water for beverages(serve yourself). Service: the service is pretty good and quick. Free wifi and the password is their phone number. I will definitely be back when I am craving some good Korean food at a good price. Definitely a great value for the amount of food. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

While mindlessly searching for new places to eat outside of my bubble, Man Doo Rang popped up on my radar along with an insatiable craving for dumplings. After weeks of tirelessly craving dumplings to no end(I even liked all dumpling related pictures on Instagram for two days), I stopped in for dumpling madness and then some. Man Doo Rang Dumpling House is an easy find. Located in the Zion marketplace plaza, parking is plenty. As you enter, you are free to sit wherever unless it gets busy. Water is already at the table with cups. I only found out after I had eaten here that fountain drinks are free, so you can just walk up and grab yourself a beverage if you want. Before I get into the meal, we got banchan. Instead of kimchi, there is pickled cabbage. The cabbage is crisp with less pickling seasonings, so it was very light and barely fermented. We also got an assortment of radishes to accompany the meal as well as a dry seasoning that I wasn’t sure what for. I later found out it was for the soondae(blood sausage). We obviously ordered a set of dumplings, but we went a little crazy when we saw the whole menu. We somehow ended up with a bit of everything. Steamed Pork Dumplings comes 10 to an order and they were a lot larger than the typical. The dumpling wrap was thin(almost transparent) and the filling was plenty. Almost every table had at least a set of dumplings in addition to their entrée and I can see why! They are so good and I’m pretty sure I can finish a whole set by myself. Soondae(Korean blood sausage) arrived to our table. I’ve always been curious about them, but haven’t had an opportunity to try them. The pork’s blood is mixed with glutinous rice and glass noodles to produce the sausage, which was an interesting texture. It was soft and chewy, but very flavorless on its own. Jajangmyun(black bean noodles). I’ve only had this once when a friend made it, but it was way too salty, haha! This one was much more balanced and way better in comparison. The noodles are thick and chewy, but our server offered to cut the noodles, which helped a lot. It was easier to mix tge sauce and eat. Ramen with sliced rice cakes. There’s really no wrong with packaged ramen as it’s just comfort food that’s cheap and quick. Chicken wings in a sauce. Yes, so much sauce! So much sauce that the crispness got a little soggy, but I liked that it was sweet and spicy. I’d like to try them without sauce next time. On another visit shortly after the first, got to try kimchi dumplings and the kimchi jigae(kimchi stew). I’m pretty sure the kimchi dumplings are vegetarian. The kimchi jigae(soup) on the other hand has bits of beef and rice cakes in the soup that we didn’t find until we reached the bottom. Very filling with rice. Maybe next time I’ll try the seafood stew! I hear that’s what they are known for.

This is the type of place you find old ppl and young kids… all in the same place! Fyi they’re not open 24 hrs on the weekends anymore as the older reviews state. But theyre open late. This is a casual korean quick bite kind of place. Their steamed dumplings are good! Their regular udon and jjajjamyun is tasty as well. My family went back and tried their seafood jjambbong and said it was really good. I believe they use seafood based soup and not pork based which most places do. Lots of seafood! They give you small cup for free soda which is amazing! Cups really small and its self serve. The owner is the cook and he comes out every once in a while to ask how everything is.

Got here for a late Friday night dinner and were seated immediately by friendly waitresses. The place was busy; not stressful/packed busy, but lively/families busy(hope that makes sense) in a cozy-sized restaurant. The service was sweet, but food was a bit of a miss tonight. We ordered the JjaJangMyun combo(noodles were soggy) and DonKatsu plate(meat was thicker than katsus should be on average). Everything else was good like the dumplings that came with the combo, the black bean sauce for the noodle, and the crunchies for the katsu. I was here once before for the JjaJangMyun for lunch and it was cooked perfectly. I wonder what happened this night. Oh well, will come back and give it another go nexttime when JjaJang crave kicks in again.

This place is in the same plaza as Zion Market, and it’s next to a dentist’s office. It’s not hard to find if you know that it’s on the edge of the plaza, and there’s plenty of parking. Coming from LA, those are the first things that come to mind when I’m considering places to go eat. My coworker and I were seated right away, and our server was super patient in explaining to us the different options and specifics we had questions for. The food came out pretty quickly, which was great for our starving tummies. We ordered beef and pork steamed dumplings, jjajangmyun, ramen soup, and something that looked like a sushi roll. The banchan was not so impressive, but I didn’t come here for that so not that big of a deal. However, the food was pretty decent but not super exceptional. A solid place for Korean comfort food if you’re in the area. I’d say 3.5 stars, but not quite 4 stars.

Ordered: calamari tempura– it was whatever’s. Disliked. Steamed dumpling– was good, not bad just veggies & meat. Fried dumpling, lacked taste. Seems like it was fried in a wonton and needed a sauce to dip. Seafood noodle soup– the dish bowl was huge! It was bigger than the size of an extra large phở. The seafood had crabs, muscles and more. I shared with 4 other people and there was still some left. It was good. Kimchi dumpling soup –was good. I would order it again. The soup had steamed eggs, rice cakes, and a good broth. Its easy to eat. Dokkbokki with ramen– it was good. I’m not sure if its spelled right the ricecakes was plain, but once mixed into the anchovies and spicy sauce, it was good. There was fishcakes and assorted veggies. The only thing it lacked that most places serve in dokkbokki is boiled egg. It’d hard to mess up dokkbokki if you have the sauce made right. Korean sausage– everyone in my table thought it was bland. We ordered it spontaneously to try something different since another table ordered it. This was a black sausage that did not taste like meat at all. It tasted like rice with no flavor and my sister tried to dip it in soy sauce and the spicy dokkbokki ramen sauce, this black sausage still had no taste after. My cousins tried eating this sausage with a daikon and vegetables to balance out the taste, but it was still plain they said. Funny, but I would not order it again. They offer free sodas, but no one in my table wanted it. Just FYI sitting inside was crowded for 7 people, so we sat outside but it was very dark. We were eating in the dark.

Man Doo Rang was recommended to me by my sis, Jayne L., after I told her about my Jjampong adventures. She told me that I needed to try the one at Man Doo Rang. I’ve been here twice, and except for a couple of minor issues, I am a fan of the restaurant. We drove up to the restaurant a few weeks ago. The only thing the sign said was«Dumpling House». Were we at the right place? The GPS said that we were. Luckily, there were no other restaurants in the vicinity, so we stepped inside to discover that we were at the right place. We have tried their Jjampong, dumplings, fried dumplings and their ramen. Service has been great every time we go there. They speak English and are very friendly. They give you water, but, as the other reviews have mentioned, soda is FREE! The portions are perfectly humongous. The Jjampong(Spicy Seafood Noodles) is one of the best that I have tried. It has lots of squid, mussels, and half a crab. Although the soup is nice and red, it is not as spicy as it looks, which is perfectly acceptable to me. Dumplings are nice, big and filled with meat. Both the fried and steamed dumplings are good. The daughter liked their steamed dumplings a lot. The minor issues? Their full name is not on their signage, and they give you a right handed pasta scoop. How the heck do you use a right handed pasta scoop and chopsticks at the same time? It’s impossible, unless you don’t use your chopsticks as you are fishing the noodles out of the large bowl. Lots of good food at an inexpensive price considering how much food they give you. I have already been back and will come back for more! Thanks again sis!
