I never got to write a review while they were in business. I used to come here almost every other weekend with my buddies and became buddies with one of the guys who worked here. Jengki or someone. I’m sorry if I spelled that horribly or made a huge mistake. He was the man! Loved his service and friendliness. Super chill guy. He told us the last time we were there, sometime around Christmas in 2014 I think that they were going to get shut down. I was so sad about the news. We absolutely love this place. I mean. you’re grilling your meat on a slab of crystal! Self-serve side dishes too. I wish they reopened. Definitely recommended if they were still around.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try out Mr. Tabletop grill because we always passed by it and wondered what it was like. So we finally came by and gave it a shot! We were accommodated right away and were surprised to see that our grill was made out of CRYSTAL. I thought that was very unique and fun to use! The servers never had to interrupt our delicious meal to replace the grill, rather they just cleaned the grill off once! The meat was decent! I go to different kbbq spots for different reasons and this time I stuck to brisket(how can you go wrong with brisket?!). The sides were self-service, meaning you didn’t have to make awkward movements and yell to get your server’s attention just to ask for more daikon or rice paper. I would come back again, if I’m too lazy to drive out to Gen or Cham Soot Gul to get my late night fix of kbbq meats!

I’m stuffed, food coma is in full effect! Mr. 6 Tabletop Grill is an all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant that is reasonably priced and doesn’t seem to have ridiculous wait times. The intersection of Beach and Malvern/La Mirada literally has a KBBQ restaurant on every corner. We came here on a Monday night and there was absolutely no wait. We also came on the Sunday night after Christmas and waited about a half an hour. This is less time than some of the others at the intersection and significantly less than in K-Town. They have different menu lists with different prices. The more expensive one includes all the meats from the cheaper one, plus a few better cuts. We selected the blue menu for $ 25.99 per person, because it includes the marinated galbi(short ribs), yummy! All menus include access to the banchan(side dish) bar. There is every banchan you could want from kimchi, glass noodles, and seeweed, to fish cakes, cucumbers, and bean sprouts. You can also get steamed egg(1 for every 2 people), and bean curd, kimchi, or fish stew. There is also white or brown rice, but I wouldn’t recommend it; rice is just filler food. Mr. 6 uses crystal grills that are suppose to concentrate heat and expedite cooking. I like it, because the meat doesn’t stick to it as much as the metal grills. However, they do have metal ones that you can request. For the price, the cuts of meat are pretty good. I’m partial to brisket first, because we’re usually starving and it cooks the fastest. I also really like the bulgogi. Our absolute favorite is the marinated galbi short ribs! All the servers are very nice and everything you request arrives super quick. If they are not too busy(or you’re doing it wrong) they will cook the meat for you too. Mr. 6 is a great place to come if you’re hungry, just kept in mind you will have a wait during peak times, but much shorter than other places. They get a big thumbs up!

Tried this place out because I was intrigued by the inconsistency of its Unilocal reviews. People seem to either LOVE this place or HATE it. All my Korean friends say it isn’t worth the money so I wanted to see for myself. I’ve tried a spectrum of Korean BBQ’s out there. From generic $ 9.99 restaurants, Cham Sut Gol, Gen, Moo dae po, Bulgogi House, Baekjong, expensive & authentic LA kbbq, and more. Me and my boyfriend have literally experienced the spectrum of kbbq food quality and service. Unfortunately, for the price this place charges, it’s quality falls terribly short. My biggest gripe is that the side dish bar is old and disgusting if it’s late at night – particularly on a weekday night. Meat quality(the most important factor in a KBBQ) is not worth the $ 20+. If you’re going to pay $ 20, get more bang for your buck at Gen or Bulgogi House. I was legitimately pissed off by the taste and weak texture of my briskets. The crystal grill is interesting at most but certainly not efficient. It gets hot way too quick and if you’re cooking something fatty like pork jowl the grease pops off at you. Sacrificing efficiency and safety for aesthetic? Not what I seek in a kbbq. The seats really annoyed me because they’re benches chained to the ground. How are bigger or smaller people supposed to be comfortable? Again, sacrificing efficiency just to be a little different. Service is good, not the best but it was good! I would honestly rather just go to Baekjong taking into consideration the amount this place charges per person. The shaved ice is not that special. I left Mr 6 desiring more for the $$ I paid.

Me and my coworkers came in here over the weekend. It was one hour prior to closing the restaurant for the day. Although we knew they were closing we went to go eat because we were all hungry. we got off work at 11:30PM, even though it was late. The servers were very caring and did their jobs. Food came out quick and it didnt taste like terrible ayce bbq. In fact it was actually really good. The six of us chatted and hungout till past the closing time but they didnt kick us out or anything! We all worked in a restaurant so we know how they feel when the customers dont leave when the restaurants closed. We tipped them more than enough and we were all happy when we left! Thanks Mr.6 bbq for a great experience!

I love the crystal stove here, the look on the outside is deceiving, but the inside is very cool and modern. It has a great design. I loved the service. Everyone was extreme attentive and helpful. They all seemed happy to be doing their job and I felt like a costumer who was cared for. I absolutely LOVED The beef brisket here! It was amazing and so wonderful. It reminded me of the glorious beef brisket at GEN. I loved how I could get my own appetizer and all the kimchi my heart desired! It was so worth $ 19.99 for dinner. I was so pleased and elated form such a joyous meal!

Food tasted gross. The new type of grill they offer make the meat taste horrible. The only good thing about this place was the shaved ice at the end. p. s. the benches on one side of the table are bolted to the ground. Not good for a big guy like me who wanted to move it back more. I felt squished and very uncomfortable eating the entire time. I will not be back!

Such a disappointing experience. I’d never heard of Mr.6 before I came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday but after reading through a few reviews I was looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately poor service and a really bad bug problem(ugh) resulted in a lacking experience for a few of us. To get this out of the way — the food was pretty decent. We ordered the $ 19.99AYCE special and they had pretty typical options for that price point. The meat was decent quality, and they had self-serve banchan which was an interesting change of pace. The crystal grills were also pretty neat, however I don’t think they were any better or worse to grill on than the traditional tabletop grill found at most Korean BBQ spots. The service however was very poor. Admittedly we had a pretty large group, but I don’t let that excuse the fact that they forgot to bring us drinks twice, screwed up our meat order and took way too long to get our check figured out. And that wasn’t even the worst part of our experience — our table in the corner had a bunch of ants crawling around everywhere. Really gross. I can see why other people may have enjoyed their experience here but ours was pretty poor. 2 stars.

Talk about useless contraptions. The super expensive crystal glass grill is useless. That and the meat quality here sucks. I was intrigued by the whole concept of the glass grill, and based on the favorable reviews, I wanted to really check this place out. Brought a group of friends visiting from out town who wanted to fill their bellies with Korean BBQ, we came here on a Friday night. Our group opted out of the AYCE menu and instead settled for the $ 150 preset course that came with a variety of meat + a bottle of beer and soju. Cool. The banchan at this place is set up like the salad bar at Sizzler– it’s a free for all, but judging from the selection, it didn’t seemed particularly fresh. Okay, I guess that was fine too because some people like serving themselves at restaurants. Out came the meat and it was pretty terrible. Certain cuts of meat were unbearably chewy– and thank God we didn’t order the AYCE version of it otherwise we would be stuck eating the entire plate. On top of that chewy meat were other cuts that were equally as distasteful. Some of the meat came out oddly colored. With that dining experience all wrapped up, half of our group grappled with stomachaches the next day. Whatever we ate gave us mean stomachaches. Don’t come here.

I was a skeptic about the crystal/glass grill, afraid it wouldn’t get the char of a regular kbbq grill, but Mr.6 did not disappoint. The pros of this place: * you get your own sidedishes, there is quite an array of things here and most of which will not disappoint — it was a bit of a turn off to see the you will be charged $ 10 sign if there are leftovers * decent quality meat — I think I have had better meat elsewhere but I didn’t mind the brisket and the pork jawol(the meat near the neck of a pig) – these are fatty but make sure you eat it with some grilled kimchi and you are all set * fast service — I went during a relatively dead lunch hour on a Monday * free soda for Unilocal check-in * red bean shaved ice grand finale– this is such a perfect way to end the meal Had the meat been of a better quality, I am almost sure we would have ordered more than two rounds. I wouldn’t mind coming back here but with the distance and me living in Garden Grove, it will probably be far and few between.

AYCE Korean BBQ spots are becoming more & more similar, but I liked Mr.6 because… (1) Banchan Bar: The set up is a buffet style and there were a lot of hot and cold side dishes available for you to chose from. I liked this because I was able to grab a lot of my favorite side dishes and a few of the other dishes that I just wanted a little bit of. They were all pretty tasty too!(My favorites were: Fish cakes, Salad, Japchae, pasta salad, and mashed potatoes). (2) Crystal Grill: It’s unique and I have to admit, the crystal grill was the reason why I decided to come here. I thought it cooked the meat evenly and I liked how the grease slid off the crystal. (3) Interior Design: Very modern and new. I liked how the the table/seating was set up so that there was not a bad seat in the house. Every seat had a grill in front of it. I also enjoyed the music playing in the background. (4) Meat quality:(Just a warning though, I only eat the beef brisket and pork belly) So, the meat quality for those two were really good. I thought the beef brisket quality was really good because it didn’t have a lot of fat on it. I also thought the pork belly here is probably my top favorite spots for pork belly. I don’t know if it’s the grill or the pork belly here that makes it so good, but it was different than other spots for some reason. What I didn’t like though was the poor customer service. They don’t have the«service bell» here, so it was difficult to wave down a server to help us.

The«About» section on Mr. 6 Tabletop Grill’s website says: «We’ve been preparing our meat among the best you can taste. We never stop until you finally happy about your foods.» Well, the meat at Mr. 6 was definitely not among the best I’ve tasted, and I’m not really that happy about my foods. I’ll start with what I am happy about though. I’m happy about the service. There’s no call button on the table as none is needed; a server will come by as soon as you need more food. I’m partially happy about the salad bar that lets me grab my own choice of banchan at my leisure. Unfortunately, after trying a number of items that didn’t impress, I decided to get a plate full of sliced pickled radish and call it a night. I’m not happy at all with the quality of the meat. The beef brisket, labeled as «prime», was not tender. The chuck steak was as tough as it sounded. The boneless short ribs, pork jowl, and marinated pork belly were some of the better items. We got the Red All-You-Can-Eat dinner for $ 19.99. The more expensive Blue menu included a couple more items. Set combos were also available but don’t come with the salad bar. Free red bean shaved iced came out at the end and was a nice palate cleanser. We stayed to chat a bit after and never felt rushed or unwelcomed by the staff. Oh yeah, our food was cooked on this crystal slab which is supposed to distribute heat more evenly for faster cooking. It seemed to have worked. However, the crystal slab, though quick and cool, doesn’t do anything for taste. The salad bar, though neat and convenient, doesn’t do much to satisfy. And the meat could use a big bump in quality if they want me to be «happy about my foods.»

Damn you Mr. 6, you got me with your banchan buffet… I should have known better. Like all buffets items all the banchan offerings were whatever so the idea of banchan buffet lost its magic at first bite. Secondly, why is your salad dressing so sour along with your chadol sauce? Geez, does sour make people fuller faster or something? Because I can’t understand why you’d made the dressing and chadol sauce so freaking tart. Also, why isn’t the chili sauce(not gochujang, but sambal oelek) not given to diners right off the bat? Miso soup, you were a waste of that tiny bowl we poured you in. Daechang, the waitress cut you too early and too thick for me to enjoy… also we were not given any sweet garlic sauce to eat you with like they give at Star/Byul BBQ& Moo Dae Po. Dipping you in chadol sauce would suffice if it wasn’t so damn sour. The other meats were pretty okay, but the other components to the meal kind of brought down the enjoyment. I did like that they offered Pork Jowl on the $ 19.99 menu though! Pinky asked what my favorites were from my meal that night… I’d have to say the self serve rice paper, pork jowl, kimchi jjigae with bits of pork, tofu & rice cake, and… the Korean shaved ice with red beans & condensed milk were my favorites. The naengmyun was okay, a bit too sweet for my tastes. Would I come back? Err maybe, maybe not… Pinky and I have just come to the conclusion that we are not able to enough meat to make the price of $ 20 per person seem legitimate. For that price, we’d rather spend a little more and splurge on ala carte KBBQ like Kang Hodong.

At first, I thought this would be a typical all you can eat type of BBQ joint but what stands out from the others is the side dish buffet style area. You get to pick your own side dishes and I like how there was a lot of variety. They also use a crystal looking cooktop to grill your meat. Interesting but I don’t know what it really does since it didn’t taste any different from the regular cooktops at other BBQ places. We got the 25.99 dinner all you can eat deal. There are only two options and we got the lowest deal one. Suggested by our waiter as a first timer to just the this deal first and if we like it and want more variety we can try the more expensive one another time. Loved that he didn’t push us to get the more expensive deal! The meats were typical Korean BBQ all you can eat but I did like the marinaded short rib. That was pretty good! They give steamed egg and a side of their stew. They were ok. The service was excellent. A lot of young workers but that’s a good thing because they were pretty fluent in English! Our waiter made sure to come by and frequently ask of we were ok or needed anything. Also, they come often to clean the cooktop. A good customer service goes a long way to make a dining experience even better. I typically don’t give four stars for all you can eat type of place but the service we got deserved that extra star!

***Six Guns and Fortune Telling! 3.5 Stars!*** Mr. 6 has six guns blazing with meat and more! 1. Discounted Child’s Menu; 2. Many Choices on the AYCE menu including Butt; 3. Banchan Bar with fresh veggies; 4. Decent Lunch Price– 17.99 for adults and 8.99 for kids; 5. Booze, Wine and Beer; and… 6. Shave Ice with Red Beans and Condensed Milk. Fortune Telling? Yes. The 99.9% crystal cook top gave me my fortune. It said I might be back! The customer service was amazing and easily 5 Stars. The Brisket and Rib Fingers were fantastic. The quality was pretty good. On the other hand, I did not care for the other meats including the pork belly and flop chuck. The shave ice could have used more red beans. Easy parking, amazing service and reasonable lunch prices have me almost a fan!

Great Service It’s the first time I’ve been to a Korean BBQ and the service added to the enjoyment of the meal. From the time we got in up to the end of our meal, we were taken cared of, very impressive. This is a relatively new restaurant. It used to be a Denny’s. They did a great job transforming it to a modern Kbbq place. Instead of the metal grills, they use a «Crystal» /Glass tray instead. It’s angled so the drippings go to a cup on the table. Cooking wise, it did a good job like the metal grills. No difference at all. I went for the lunch AYCE $ 17.99. I had 16 different kinds of meat to choose from. It had all of my favorites so there was no need to do the upgraded AYCE meal. With it, we also got the full use of the salad bar, where you can get extra banchans, sauces and soup. The waiters can bring it to you too. But I like this concept better. I get to pick and choose the ones I like in the amount I want. And I can come back as many times as I want. There were over 20 plus items you can choose from. I don’t know their names, so I’m not even going to try. But I love the variety. Here’s the run down.(In the order of what I liked) #9 Marinated Pork Belly — OMG, the was very good. Very flavorful, super tender and the char from grilling it was just amazing. I love pork and to be specific, pork belly and this was on the money! Must order dish for sure. #4 Marinated Short Ribs — Delicious. Strips of short ribs with a great marinade. Great quality of meat. #11 Marinated Spicy Pork — perfect spiciness. It was a little sweet. Great flavor. Yummy! #3 Boneless Short Ribs — another winner. The quality of the meat really shines here. Super tender and tasty. #1 Brisket — thin slices and delicious. #10 Pork Butt — it came out as a frozen circular piece of meat. Almost like a circle shaped pork chop. And it tasted like it yummy. #9 Rib Fingers — the way the waiter explained it, it’s the meat between each beef ribs. This also came out frozen, but still very tasty. You need some sauce on this one though. At the end of the meal we were offered a red bean shaved ice dessert(free). We were stuff but said yes anyways. Good thing too. That was so so good to end the meal. It was not too sweet and very refreshing. I’d come and pay just for that shave ice. Delicious! Service again is great. We were checked on frequently. Water jug was replace before we ran out. They cleaned the glass grill 7 times. The waiter explained the procedures, cooked our meats, cut them, talked to us and Smiled a lot. Great great service! A special thank you to Richard L, one of my original Unilocal Friend(he was the first or second YF I had) for recommending this place. Go read his review of this place. His reviews are awesome! Note: Open until 2am. I enjoyed my whole dining experience here. A totally different one from other Kbbq places. They emphasized Great Service. What a great concept. The food was so so good. I am definitely a fan and would recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back.

I was a Korean drama prince, without the drama. That was how I felt. That was how I was treated. And that’s was how I was served. With a clean, new and modern environment, I was taken into another world and perspective, different than the usual Korean BBQ experience. Why? I’m here to explain. I desperately wanted to try this former Denny’s space right when they had a sign that an ALLYOUCANEAT Korean BBQ was coming in. What separates me from the average person? I get elated when I see this kind of stuff. I was a kid in a candy store and started to talk about it with others around October 2013. But unfortunately, others don’t get excited as I do. After months after opening and planning, I finally chose a good day to come by for lunch $ 17.99 this past Saturday. We all know by now, instead of a steel/iron grill, they have clear stone grills here. It’s nothing special really. It may look cool, but it the does the same job as any other grill. Instead of changing the grill, the servers clean it for you with water. They cleaned it quite frequently which I liked because no one likes a black grill. But there are so many other highlights to discuss. Unlimited Side Dish Bar! I love this concept! Before the meats arrive, it’s like Brazilian BBQ where you go and get the veggie fix. I hate asking for more side dishes, so I can get what I please! I absolutely was fond of the sauce bar! Sesame oil and the brisket sauce are already given to you for starters, but as a sauce enthusiast and advocate, I always end up needing more. Asking for more sauce is another annoying aspect at most Korean BBQ places. Here, I walk right up the bar, get more of the sauce I please and walk away. Simple! They have a huge serving of the brisket sauce WITH the jalapenos! However, the hot sauce isn’t given to you at the start, but found here. At this lovely bar, you can get more rice paper, green radishes, and even rice cake for grilling! Lunch Menu $ 17.99 1. Brisket — The appetizer of meats at Korean BBQs. I always start off with the brisket. Good brisket is a good indicator if the restaurant will serve other good quality meats. The brisket here was cut thinly like how we are used to seeing it and melted in my mouth. It had a good beef flavor with the right amount of fat. As soon as I tried this, I anxiously knew I was going on a roller coaster ride. 2. Chuck Flap — It was cut very thin here. Barely any fat on it. However, remember to grill this fast because it can get well done easily. 3. Boneless Short Rib — I love short ribs. It’s my favorite cut at KBBQ restaurants. Cut into stripped cubes, it was juicy and tender. Ordered a couple of plates. 4. Marinated Short Rib — I totally missed this! I can’t believe it! But will try next time. 5. Bulgogi — I never get bulgogi. Just to watery. 6. Chuck steak — Another one I missed! 7. Rib Finger — A similar cut to the short rib. Just as tender and juicy and a great alternative. 8. Pork Belly — Not a huge fan of pork belly, but ordered it because the wife likes it. Just your typical thick cut pork belly. But if you enjoy pork, ordering this is a must. 9. Marinated Pork Belly — Did not order. 10. Pork Butt — Similar to a pork steak or pork chop with no marinade. I personally didn’t order the below items because they are typical meats accessible anywhere like at soft tofu restaurants. 11. Marinated Spicy Pork — Did not order 12. Marinated Chicken Bulgogi — Did not order 13. Marinated Spicy Bulgogi — Did not order 14. Marinated Small Intestine — Intestine lovers should order this to try it out. It had a good marinade, but not as close to Star BBQ’s in Garden Grove. I liked the intestine, but it just wasn’t as good as Star BBQ’s. 15. Marinated Abomasum — Did not order. 16. Marinated Large Intestine — Delicious. Small intestine lovers will enjoy large intestines. Not as grimy as the small intestines and a sweeter flavor especially when it’s cooked right. Koreans are notorious for drama. It’s embedded in our DNA. But here, everything was drama free. Service was exceptional. I actually felt bad because a server would consistently grill the meat for us. Our main server was SJ. He knew what he was doing. Came by constantly bringing more plates of meats, refilling out waters, and grilling for us. But the others servers came by too, doing the same exact thing! Was I royalty? It sure felt like it! This is a huge upgrade than another Korean BBQ restaurant, Woo Ga in the same shopping center. Mr. Six exceeds Woo Ga in all categories 100 times over. That place needs to take notes from Mr. Six. Sagan and Surah, who are you? We live in an era where Korean BBQ is dominating the meat industry. There are countless choices for Korean BBQ. Others regretfully stay the same and are in denial that they don’t have to change. We aren’t in the 90s anymore. Changes and new concepts thrive in this new decade. The clear winners are those who are willing to make those changes.

This place is a decent AYCEKBBQ place… the only thing that I don’t like is the price… $ 26… man that’s kinda steep for kbbq even if the quality of the meat is slightly better. So the whole crystal grill thing… I think it does help with keeping the meat from drying out since it cooks the meat at a slower pace and the meat doesn’t stick to the grill vs if you were to use a standard steel grill… So I guess it’s better… As far as the quality of meat goes, I have to admit that it’s slightly better than your standard AYCE kbbq places. And like other AYCE places, the first batch of meat is red and is of good quality and as you ask for your second, third, fourth serving… the meat starts turning more white(more fat than actual meat)… Personally I like your typical unmarinated meat. So my go to meat dishes are your standard chadol and jumuluk… And these meats at Mr. 6 were comparable to Byul Daepo(my favorite AYCE kbbq place)… What Mr. 6 is good at are their marinated meats like your marinated jumuluk and galbi… They marinate the meat very well… very tasty… and for $ 26 it’s unlimited… I think my family asked for the galbi like 6x… @_@ What I did like alot at Mr. 6 was their salad/side dish bar. I loved their cilantro salad… OMG I literally killed the whole batch that they had… I did not try their gopchang or dehchang… so I can’t really tell you how good it is vs. other places… Basically, I do think Mr. 6 is a decent AYCE kbbq place but I would much rather go to Byul Daepo because of the price… If you are into the whole marinated meat than this may be the place for you… Overall the service was good… although it kinda lagged at the end since our family was there close to 3 hours… @_@ never stayed at a kbbq that long… I can understand why the waiters would get alittle irritated at the end… Haha :)

New reigning champion of AYCEKBBQ in the OC and maybe even all of Southern Cali!!! You know those $ 9AYCEKBBQ joints that have been popping up around town? Well, this place is the polar opposite. 3 reasons this is the best AYCEKBBQ in the OC. 1) The highest quality of meats. The quality is that of non-AYCE BBQ joints. 2) Self serve ban-chan/salad bar that’s fresh and includes some interesting extras… this insures you are getting the ban-chan and side dishes that you want and not just randoms that you never touch(ask for fresh garlic on the side) 3) Cooking on crystal(although it takes a while to really heat up and seems kinda gimmicky) it seems to be more efficient and clean… not to mention kinda cool to be cooking on a thick, slab of high quality glass. They have 3 levels to choose from $ 18, $ 26 and $ 34 We went with the $ 26 and had plenty to choose from. Must try.
