AMAZINGSHOW! Feb 14, 2016, Valentine’s Day, was my first time visiting the castle with my boyfriend. It was amazing to say the least. I was able to find a discount code online so I ended up paying half of what they normally charge. The show was so so good! I was jumping out of my seat with excitement the entire time. I absolutely love how the actors and knights seem like they truly enjoy their jobs. If that was my job I would too. The meal was super delicious and really filling. The show was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I definitely recommend everyone to come here who lives in SoCal or who is visiting. It is so worth it. PS. Our server, Carlos, was awesome too!

Very very desapointed with the service. First time here. Bought tickets on line and have no idea why to wait in line. Asked the perersonel. Rude as fuck. Will never do bussines with this people again. Not worthed and the employees should be re trained. ps. This employee had the guts to gudge me after this review insulting me. Again it was my first time there. There was peple buying tickets. Ect. I was not cutting the line but confused about if I was in the right line. I asked this stupid donkey and he yelled at me. Of course he made me mad. An he still had the guts to repply and unsult me? You all are done with my business and my family business. This is a boycott. This day I spent about $ 400 and got treated like that. Guess what. I will make sure my family and friends will bever spent a dime there again. DONEWITHTHISPLACE!!!

Fun show and experience. All of the employees(serfs, wenches, knights, king, princess, squires, etc) were professional and nice. They put on a great show, although the hand to hand combat on the ground was rather silly. The food tasted pretty good and there was plenty of it, but the dishes were filthy and I paid for it later. :( The falcon show was a nice touch. The horses were gorgeous and well-fed, but were hit a few times by the wranglers(not the knights) to get them to perform certain tricks. This was distracting and bothered me. The show would have been just as great without treating the animals poorly. The way some of the workers treated the horses and the after effects of the meal brought the rating down.

Overdue review. I came here with my wife and I really enjoyed it. I never had the opportunity to come here when I was little but definitely, I would recommend it for both adults and kids as the show was impressive and brought the inner child out of me. I generally dont engage in shows like this but I was rooting for my knight to win. The chicken was a little dry but the corn and tomato soup was good. I recommend this place.

Love it! Amazing show, great costumes and good food,(considering that you don’t go to Medieval Time for the their food options). We all had fun and my grandmother got also a flower from our yellow knight! :) I love animals and watching those beautiful, healthy and well groomed horses, it was very exciting. I will definitely recommend this show for any special occasions or for some family fun.

BESURETOUPGRADE! Thank goodness we did. We were able to pass by approx. 75 people who had been waiting in line much longer than us because of it. If you’re wanting to be seated even faster, forgo taking any photos before the event with the King and Princess. The experience overall was good, interesting. Defiantly a great attraction for children. However, the food isn’t really kid friendly and I don’t believe they offer a child option. The children in our party barely touched their food, which was a really bummer. Tomato bisque and 7 – 10 year olds, just isn’t gonna fly.

I’m just getting around to reviewing this place, even though it has been quite a while. I decided to take a friend with me since she always wanted to come here, but never got around to it. The website said to arrive an hour early, but I’m now thinking that was for people who had not yet purchased tickets. The lobby provided several things to look at, like the various suits of armor, the falcon alcove, the dungeon, and numerous gift shops. When showtime finally arrived, we were escorted into the dining hall. It is essentially an amphitheater with a big jousting field in the center and separated by color. We were red and happened to be in the front row. If you want to get the good seats, book online! Shortly after we were seated, our choice of drinks was brought around(Pepsi, tea or water). Then as the lights dimmed and the king and princess began telling the backstory of the night’s tournament and each of the knights were introduced, our friendly serf(server) brought around the tomato bisque. Shortly after, the garlic bread came out. Though it would have been nice to have the bread with the bisque, I guess they were trying to space the food out so the meal lasted throughout the entire show. The bread was followed by a chicken leg, then a spare rib, and then dessert. The knights performed a series of stunts on horseback along with a brief falcon show. The show concludes with the joust and sword fight where each of the knights are eliminated from the competition. Our knight got eliminated first! –_– The food was decent, the jousting show entertaining and all around the night was fun. So what more could you ask for? The tickets were a bit pricey, but I just reminded myself that tickets to a Broadway show front row would have cost me for one person, what Medieval Times cost for two, and dinner would not have been included. How much did my friend like it? Two thumbs up! I would totally recommend Medieval Times to anyone who lives in the general vicinity of one, is vacationing near one, or just happens to be curious about what all the fuss is.

Ok, I admit. I quickly judged my mom for making reservations for this place for my stepdad’s birthday. But it’s so much fun!!! Fun for people of all ages. My little sisters had so much fun and so did my parents!!!(…I think I had more fun that they did??? Hahaha) If you come here and don’t enjoy it, you suck as a person and you don’t know how to have a good time. Our server, Chris was super funny and accommodating!

My family and I went to this show today. We all enjoyed the environment and the food! Our person we supported was the«Red and Yellow» guy. He was very good at what he did and he looked like Thor! The food was really good and the service was really good. Overall, the show filled with talented people and majestic looking horses. We were very entertained and would recommend the show for all ages. One thing to know is there is an opportunity to tip the server at the end of the show. They were on top of their game and deserved the tip.

This place is an absolute blast! The theme and fun begin as soon as you walk in! You get assigned a knight and get a paper crown, and you can even take a souvenir picture with your family, then you are sent to wait in the lobby with the other guests. While waiting there is a bar, and plenty of gift shops items to buy for the kids. As soon as show time is about to begin they have an opening ceremony that starts at the lobby which gets you in the mood. As that ends the doors open and you are seated in your appropriate color section. They take your food order and the show begins as you eat! The food itself is mediocre. Super simple, by starting you off with tomato soup, followed up with bread, roasted chicken, potato, corn, and a pastry(apple danish for me). Everything was decent other than the tomato soup being a little bland. My girlfriend wanted to be different and try the vegetarian option(even though she isn’t), replacing her chicken with a vegetable stew which she enjoyed enough. The show itself was fun and quite action packed. The stunt seemed well rehearsed and the actors had all of the crowd cheering for their respective color knights. They try to add some back story with the king and princess, but it was quite negligible. The competition between the knights was already exciting enough. After the show, all the cast was in the lobby and diners were able to take pictures with their favorite knight or even the royal family or villain of the story. The price is okay at about $ 60 for adults, especially considering it covers dinner and a show, but keep an eye out on groupon or living social for extra savings.

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always seen the commercials or the advertisements across SoCal. Instead, I jump out of airplanes, travel around the world for a baseball game, and meet the love of my life… ANDSTILL I haven’t been to one of the most popular dining/show attractions. I’ve finally completed one of my life objectives. We feast and celebrate with honor, drinks, and food at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Buena Park. Located south of the 91 Freeway and on the east side of Beach Blvd, you cannot miss the castle front, home of Medieval Times. My girlfriend and I were invited by a family relative to celebrate their birthday. I don’t know what the prices are, but there are tons of online discounts/specials you can use. If you do visit on the day of, Adults will pay $ 61.95 and children are $ 36.95. On some weekends, there are as many as three shows to choose from. During the week, its usually just one show. You will be greeted at the entrance and be placed with a crown with a color. Those colors will represent both your sitting area and the Coat of Arms of your Knight. You will have an opportunity to take a photo with his royal Majesty and his Princess Catalina. After you will be in the lobby/gift shop. This is where you’ll be waiting for awhile until your Royal Coat of Arms is called. You can see the white horses in the next area. You can grab drinks from the bar while you wait. Of course, there are tons of knick knacks at the gift shops to take home. When it is time. you’ll be called to the arena with your family. The stadium isn’t as big as I thought it was, but it can hold a lot of people. Just think of a high school gym with dirt in the middle. When you check in, you’ll have a server greeting you and your area. He/She will confirm your orders. You may be a carnivore or a vegetarian. Medieval Times will accommodate your needs, except, there are no utensils. My girlfriend and I went the healthier route. I am sure the King would throw us in the dungeon for saying that. The Vegetarian Meal offers an appetizer of Hummus, Warm Pita Bread, Carrot and Celery Sticks. Absolutely delicious and very simple. For the main entrée we had a 3-Bean Stew with Fire Roasted Tomato and Brown Rice served in an iron pot. They do give you a spoon though. I was very filled and could not finish it For dessert, we got HOT apple pastries. Our server, who I don’t have his name, was super generous, He gave our party extra food from corn to pastries. He was a great host and very cool guy. Now, the spotlight of the show: THEACTUALSHOW! Each group of the audiences will cheer for their knight to win the heart of Princess Catalina and to fight a stranger from the North. Each round each knight tests their skills and abilities. Using their swordsmanship and their trusty horse companion will be a major key to being the Knights of the Realm. There are sparks from their sword and almost seems like they could die at that moment, I would like to test my hand in that tournament, but probably would lose that hand anyway. Overall, Medieval Times is a great place to celebrate with your family. Don’t come alone! This is a family affair and you shouldn’t miss out with close ones. Its as close to a baseball or a football game. I am glad to have marked this off of my life list. However, I am not interested in the next door’s theme of pirates. Not my taste. I highly prefer one of Orange County’s fun destination at Medieval Times. Eat with your hands and live like a king for the day. Unilocal…My passion is not to write my reviews, but to share my experiences with you. Take that journey and share your story.

Despite being a SoCal native, and having done everything else amusement parky down here, this was my first time at Medieval Times, as an adult no less. I’d actually been worried it would be like all kids, but there were a lot more adults than kids even at the Sunday afternoon show. Like I would say 2 – 3 adults to every 1 kid. That said, a lot of people were behaving like kids. :) I would advise not paying full price. Discounts are everywhere whether on OC or Anaheim tourist websites, the Medieval Times website itself, Groupon/Living Social or random codes are floating out there. We paid $ 34 per adult. This is a steal for a live performance show and a three course feast. The food was actually much better than I had been expecting from the reviews. It was like really good amusement park food. You will definitely leave feeling satisfied on the food front. You start with a tomato bisque with garlic bread starter, then they give you the rotisserie well seasoned and moist chicken with buttered corn and seasoned baked potato, and you end with a flaky apple pie and coffee. You also get a drink during your meal and one refill and have the option of separately purchasing any alcoholic beverages. You eat with your hands but it is all part of the experience and they give you extra napkins during and wet wipes at the end. Kids get the same portion sizes as adults so there seemed to be a bunch of to-go bags being automatically distributed afterwards so no food goes to waste. I actually finished everything. I would advise getting their 1 hour early like everyone recommends. It isn’t so much to get a good seat because you are assigned your crown color and table number when you check-in, but so you can check everything out. There are quite a bit of photo ops and the castle to explore and flags to purchase for your respective knight’s colors to wave while you are cheering. I always wondered about the concept of assigning people to a knight and it is actually a very clever idea. It makes the audience feel like participants when called on to cheer for their knight and invested in the outcome of their knight. Like it doesn’t hurt that all the knights are all hot young fit men. I can see this place appealing to everyone though. Kids will be enthralled, women can scream for their hot knight, and men can enjoy the jousting and sword fighting. And watching the trained horses is a treat for all. This place really works for everyone and I would highly recommend doing once in your life.

So in terms of … — entertainment — definitely 5 stars! — food — ehhh i would say 3 – 4 stars. Never buy tickets at full price — there’s always some discounted offer on their website(or if its your birthday, then you get a free meal). There’s lots of parking … and if their lot is full — theres a lot more spots across the street. Once you get in — you get assigned to color that will be the knight that you cheer for and the section in the arena they will put you in — and you’ll get that as a paper crown. They will also try to get you to buy a whole bunch of stuff — pictures with the princess, flags, hats, drinks(the commemorative glass costs you $$$), things that light up, weapons/swords, pay for a shoutout during the dinner, and lots of other medieval type stuff. Once you’re in the arena, you get settled into your row(which felt like madness because they cram everyone into an area before opening the doors to the area). You meet your server who is going to bring out your feast, and then the show starts. Food: be prepared to eat with your hands because they won’t give you any utensils hahahah. like in medieval times. The feast is kinda like having thanksgiving dinner — you’ll get soup, chicken, potatoes, corn and pie. The show was absolutely amazing. I wanted to ride the horses lol. I was cheering for my knight like it was my football team — I got really loud and really obnoxious and i felt sorry for the family near us that had to endure my yelling. It was also really fun seeing the other obnoxious people in the other sections, especially the drunk adults. I did get pissed that my knight didn’t give me a flower. When they started the tournament, a net came down to separate the people from the field — cuz it was about to go DOWN. The knights were fighting for their lives. I kept yelling at my knight to watch his back — but unfortunately during round 2, the blue knight killed him(then i started yelling«cheater» at him whenever he got near me and i KNOW he heard me). Overall — yes i would do this again. Maybe not buy as much crap, but this would definitely be fun to go with a group. and get drunk. and yell at men. Men that fight. Lol

«Of all the things that men may heed ’Tis most of love they sing indeed.» ― J.R.R. Tolkien, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo Had a most excellent time at Medieval Times with my son recently. The food was surprisingly good, the entertainment exciting(alas our Knight did not win), plenty of refills of soda although the torture museum did spook my boy. Get discounts either online or through Goldstar. Don’t be a sucker and pay full price. That’s what tourists do, not locals ;-)

Man I’ve come here so much that this review is honestly a bit bias. If money and time permit I probably go about 5 times a year! The dinner probably runs you about $ 50 a person, give or take $ 10. However, there is the upgraded seating which will run you more money. It might seem like a lot of money, buttttttt old and young alike will love the show. They begin by dividing you up into sections giving you a paper crown with your color of knight. You take pictures which are optional and also unincluded in the entrance price. You then enter into the hall, where there is 2 fully stocked bars, keep sakes and a collection of swords. Once the hour strikes show time, they take you into the arena where you take a seat according to the section. A lovely«wench» then takes your drink order and brings out your meal in 3 courses. Soup, chicken, desert. The show begins you see the knights compete for honor then a plot twist occurs forcing the Knights to fight. You cheer your knight on every step of the way. Along with seeing magnificent horses and an avian friend. They do have a vegetarian option but I’ve never tried it. the food does fill you up. The ambience transports you into the medieval ages and you’re a lord watching these Noble Knights compete. If you’re from out of town or drive by… MUSTSTOP! 5⁄5. *Please tip your server!

Came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and we had a blast! Came with no expectations but went home with a big smile on our face! It was fun to have a feel of the Medieval Times, eating with simple food(half chicken with potato wedges, corn on the cob and soup), with no utensils, makes you feel like you’re back in medieval times. We were impressed with the food given that it was mass produced. Service is incredible. Performance was amazing and kept us entertained throughout the dinner. The horses are charming and talented. Tips: ~ Sign up for the Medieval Times mailing list as they always have promotion as and when ~ FREE entry & meal for Birthday girl/boy(for every regular-priced entry ticket) ~ FREE parking(ample parking space)

I have loved this place ever since I was a young child. It’s dinner and a show. And it lasts about 2 hours. There is plenty of parking in their facility, and arrive early so you have time to check-in and gather in the waiting area before getting called into your section. The food is all served to you without any utensils. That is because you must eat with your hands, like they did back during the Medieval times,(so make sure to wash your hands before entering the dinning area). They do serve food that is easy to use your hands tho. The dinner is started off with a cup of soup served in a cup with a handle so it’s easy to drink with. The main course was half of a chicken, a potato wedge, and corn on the cob. Lastly, dessert was a pastry. The show is fun! It starts out with the horses come out and do tricks. You are assigned a color when you enter the facility, that color ends up being where you sit inside the dinning area. That color is also associated with your section’s knight. They come out after the horses. They do some games on the horses, like a relay race and jousting. They then fight each other until one knight is left. That winner gets to choose a princess from his section. If you plan to go, try buying your ticket ahead of time. They usually have a discount on tickets on their website.

I haven’t been to Medieval Times since the 80s and was excited to experience it again. Bought tickets on Expedia. Had to call Medieval Times to confirm my 8:15PM dinner reservation. The parking lot was full but there was plenty of parking across the street in the old Wax Museum parking lot. Plenty of helpful employees guide you to what lines you need to be in. If you have an extra $ 20, I would upgrade to the Royal VIP package. You get to sit in the front two rows, a picture with the royal court &DVD. We were seated in the Green Knight’s(Asturius) section. Our serf server Hayden was very attentive. Made sure we got refills and delivered our food in a timely manner. They started with a tasty tomato bisque. It was followed up by some bread, large piece of chicken, corn and potato. The fun thing is you eat with your hands. A nice little apple tart is served for dessert. Throughout the meal you have knights competing on horseback and hand-to-hand. Unfortunately the blue knight won but it was a very entertaining show. It’s a nice thing to leave a tip for the servers since gratuity is not included in the bill.
