Good service. Our waiter was quick. He gave all our needs. Food is just typical American. Overall I like it. Good job!

I had my twin’s birthday party here and I was very happy with how everything turned out! I hadn’t been to a Shakey’s in probably 20 years. Walked in, the restaurant was very clean, very spacious. I had called in my order for our party of 30. Walked up to the register and paid and they started working on the order right away. The food was out within 15 minutes. I paid the extra $ 1.00 per pizza for the pan pizza instead of the original… well worth it! I ordered two of the party packages which came with pizza, chicken, and Mojo potatoes. Everything was delicious! There was plenty of food and the price was very reasonable. Our server’s name was Yaya and she was wonderful! She was very attentive and so friendly. We raved about her to the managers.
The kids had a blast with the game room and prize counter. The machines were NOT tight on spitting out the tickets! The kids won tons of tickets and there was a great selection of prizes to choose from.
The adults enjoyed themselves as well, with the game room to keep the kids occupied and the TVs all around to watch sports.
Also, the restrooms were clean! Big plus to us moms out there!
I would definitely go back to this Shakey’s for a team party, birthday party, or just dinner with the fam!

This is my second time coming here for lunch and I can say I’m sill pleased! Pizza and salad buffet with all sorts of different sides like mashed potatoes, corn, rice, & chicken! You can’t beat the prices either for the amount of food you get in return. It’s a great place to bring the kids too because they have a decent size arcade area although the prizes are on the cheapie side. Pizza is good and the salad is nice and fresh.

This place rocks! Seated us although we came in just before closing and they were all so sweet and accommodating!

Had my soccer banquet there and it was a success!!! Staff was great and accommodated about 70 people for us. Thank you Shakeys for such good hospitality.

The staff here is phenomenal. From the management team to the waitress GLORIA and the bus boys picking up even the smallest napkin or pice of trash as they comb the restaurant. I have not been to a Shakey’s in over 10 years. It is amazing to know the quality of food and customer service here still exceeds my expectations. On another note, I chose to come here even though I had reservations set for Buffalo Wild Wings and Chiles and canceled them to come here. GLORIA and the lady behind the cash register have done an impeccable job with my experience here. Thank you.

Decent priced for lunch buffet, but I wouldn’t get separate meals from Shakeys.
Lunch buffet $ 7 bucks. Plus drinks $ 3 bucks.
Comes with chicken, pizza, salad, etc.
Bad customer service due to the place being so busy during lunch hours. I think they should have more waiters rather than making their customers walk around to flag someone down.

hadn’t had it since i was a kid. decided to try out their bunch a lunch. food was decent but i think the memories in my head were too big and left disappointed. oh well, it was at least warm and filling

Great Food!!! Love the Friend Chicken…

Nothing overwhelmingly great about this place. While we were here they somehow ran out of plates so we had to wait a bit for them to wash them. The «playroom» is a bit cramped up, it’s like playing in an arcade that is in a hallway pretty much. Pizza is good, way better then Chucky Cheese’s.

Mrs. and I arrived at 1:45 PM. We noticed that the buffet was till 2:00 PM. The lady at the register informed us that they will stop stocking at 2 PM. However they would make items depending on what we wanted. We ordered a veggie pizza.
Total with tax for 2 buffets and one drink came to $ 19.95
Pros:
Very friendly employees. They checked up on us to ensure that everything was good.
Mrs. liked their variety. Pizza, chicken, mashed potatoes, salad etc. in an affordable price range.
Cons:
11 – 2 PM buffet is too tight a window for us. (–1)

This Review is solely for the Bunch a Lunch buffet lunch they have at Shakey’s.
I love it. The fried chicken, mojo potatoes, pizza, and rice pilaf are my favorites.
The fried chicken is always fresh, steaming hot, juicy, crispy and heavily seasoned. It’s just sooooo good. Can you tell I love fried chicken? Almost as good as the chicken are the mojo potatoes. Sliced potatoes, battered, and fried. I usually dip them in the gravy they have there. Another yummy dip is mixing the ranch with the bleu cheese dressing. I alternate dips between the gravy and ranch/​bleu cheese dressing.
The combo pizza is good, it’s on classic crust. There is also a pepperoni jalapeño pizza on pan crust that is yummy. Oh, I forgot the garlic bread sticks. They are pretty good as well. A little thick, but still tasty. And I like to have my chicken and potatoes with the rice pilaf. That’s the Asian in me, I need rice!
Lunch opens at 11. I strongly suggest you come early because by noon, it’s packed. At 11, it’s clean and quiet. By 12:30, it’s messy, brink of being dirty, and crowded.
They have a little arcade Area for kids, like a tiny chuck e cheese where kids can win prizes. That’s a nice little added bonus. Send your kids to play so you can eat more food!

First time coming here, a lot of my friends recommended this place to eat after a long day at Knott’s Barry Farm. This place is pretty big, good for big groups. We had a group of 15 people, and we were able to fit everyone at the table. Also, they have an arcade in the restaurant so you can play while waiting for your food.
I ordered their fire house pizza (medium) and pepperoni twister as an appetizer. The pizza came pretty quick, about 15 mins. They used fresh ingredients and the pizza was super hot. The toppings were on point, everything tied together nicely. The meat balls were not too spicy, and the sausages were in mini thick slices. I liked the basils and the red onions a lot, it gave the pizza a lot of flavor. The pizza twisters were not bad either. It was literally, mini pizzas twisted together in small bite sizes.
Of course, I didn’t eat this all by myself, I shared it with my boyfriend and we still couldn’t finish it. It was a lot of food for two of us, and it was under $ 25. Totally worth it!
Overall, this dine-​in pizza place is pretty good, worth coming here to try their pizzas. If you don’t want pizzas, they also offer wings and they have really good potato fries, called mojos.

I used to go to the shakeys in san jose when it was around. I came to Buena park and had to stop here to grub on some pizza and mojo’s. Same great taste. This place was nice. Staff was friendly. Food was served fast. Would recommend this place.

Bunch of Lunch is great. You get a little bit of everything and when you have kids who can’t agree on what «shade» of blue the sky is, a selection is really a plus.
Salad bar needs a revamp for those who just want salad with a small selection of protein (ham, turkey, and boiled eggs)
Game room filled with a small amount of prize games (token-​ticket-​prizes)

Shakeys pizza is one of my favorites and I always come here as a destination because we no longer have them where I live. Maybe its childhood memories but I LOVE their pizza. The crust is perfect. The sauce is good. We usually get take out but had the opportunity for the lunch buffet. Pretty good value for what you get. There was chicken, potatoes, and mac n cheese to go along with the traditional pizza, salad, and bread sticks. I was disapointed to find wilted brown lettuce in the salad bar and we arrived right when they opened so its not like it was sitting there for hours and there was NO mushrooms! what? how can you not have mushrooms???
Pizza is fantastic but the rest leaves little to be desired. Staff/​service is so-​so.

It’s actually my first time trying the lunch buffet and it was okay at best. My mom, brother, and I came here for lunch, ultimately for my little brother because he absolutely LOVES pizza, and the games here don’t hurt.
PROS:
–you can’t beat the price, I will tell you that. Adults are $ 7.99 and the kids are $ 4.99.
–they continuously put out fresh pizza so that it’s oh-​so-​cheesy.
CONS:
–the salad bar could use a little work… they need to put in some fresh veggies.
–only downfall I experienced was that we have to reuse our plates, I understand that if you put out plates people will just take whatever.
Overall, it’s a good place to take your children and enjoy a cheap lunch buffet.
They have pizza (whatever is out… when we went they had cheese, pepperoni, ham and pineapple, mushroom, sausage, pepperoni and ham), corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, mojo potatoes (fried potatoes), rice (this did not taste good), fried chicken, grilled chicken (looked a little too pinkish).

You won’t have trouble finding your mojo here. The mojo potatoes — oily, starchy, blood-​sugar raising, fattening. Love ‘em! Fried chicken? Bring it on! I’m actually not a big pizza guy, but I do like the pizzas here, with several options available. A salad bar is at the ready to have some semblance of healthy eating. For dessert, cinnamon pizza is awaiting for those with a sweet tooth, but I usually forego it in order to save room for more mojos & chicken.
For Shakey’s 60^th anniversary, they gave away free slices of either cheese or pepperoni pizza. Who am I not to partake of the celebration? It would’ve been rude not to ;p

Seating is plentiful. I fondly remember childhood memories of pizza parties held at Shakey’s. Lots of TV’s to watch the ballgames or the latest episode of a steamy telenovela (or Korean soap opera) ;p
Arcade games for the kiddos & the kids at heart. I dunno, but arcade games are pretty complicated now. Back in my day, we had Afterburner, Rampage, TMNT & TMNT: Turtles in Time & I can’t forget the awesome 6-​player X-​men arcade game. Now, those are classics!
Service has been good the times I’ve been here. Bunch of Lunch has always been stocked with plenty of food to stuff my face.
Need to fill up for lunch, and don’t care about calories or cholesterol? Mozy on down to Shakey’s for their inexpensive Bunch of Lunch, loading up on their famous mojo potatoes and other offerings. It won’t hurt the wallet and you may have nostalgic memories of yesteryear.
