I usually just order take out because the rice here is expensive! The food here is alright. I like Boiling Crab better. I feel like the food here needs more flavoring. Every time I order take out it taste like nothing! I’m not sure if its because I’m eating it at home or it really just taste nothing!

I love that this place is never busy. I’ve never had to wait more than a minute or two to find a seat. Thank goodness… Because right when you walk in, you can smell how good it’s gonna taste. 1. Order Cajun fries. They’re good, and even better when you dunk them in the sauce from what you order next. 2. Whatever you order, get it spicy and kickin’ style. You’re good. My go to is the shrimp, but whatever tastes good to you. Corn is a great add on, if you’re okay with all the leftovers in your teeth. 3. Only bottled beer served here. No pitchers at all. And it’s just basic beer… No local beers served. 4. They charge for water. Which you’ll need from all the spice. I wish I would’ve known this… I swear I’ll bring my own next time. Haha. 5. There are tons of TVs all over the walls. If you’re worried about missing a game while you’re here, don’t worry. 6. Don’t forget to wear your bib! 7. There’s a sink outside the bathroom(awesome!) so you can wash all the leftovers off your hands before touching anything else. Enjoy!

I have yet to come to this restaurant but the two days I have tried calling they don’t pick up their phone. It’s either busy or they just don’t answer.

This review is not based on the service, which was great. This review is about the cheap owner selling a cup of tap water for .35 cents. Who does that??? As for the food, Boiling Crab and Claws is much flavorful. Shrimp was also over cooked and sticking to the shell. Can’t wait for Claws in Cerritos to open! Won’t be coming back to this cheap ass place.

Food: The seafood is delicious and tastes fresh every time. They offer a variety of sauces – my favorite, being Louisiana. If you’re indecisive, just pick Kickin’ Style because it’s a blend of all the sauces! Customer Service: The service here is spectacular. ALL workers, not just the one who took your order, are always attentive and check in regularly through out your meal. I never had an empty drink. More things to note: Parking is plentiful and we’ve always been seated immediately. This location is large and spacious. It’s not congested like other seafood joints(glaring at The Boiling Crab in Rowland Heights). Great food. Great service. Kickin’ Crab is our regular stop for a seafood fix.

My friend and I came here the other night around 6:30ish and we get seated right away. We shared 2lbs shrimp and 1lb crawfish with corn, potato and sausages which i think it’s combo1? We had JC as a server and he was AWESOME! He kept checking up on us if we were okay! Overall, great service, friendly staff and I would def coming back!

Really good food at a reasonable price without the extremely long wait unlike usual crawfish restaurants. The staff is friendly and extremely attentive. While i was there, my friend and I saw a homeless man enter the restaurant who immediately sat at a table. The server, rather than making a scene and kicking the man out, offered to get him food and sit him in his own table, as the one he chose was already taken by a different group. The server was so polite and extremely kind. She did quite an admirable deed. Its nice to know that there are still establishments like this one.

Flabbergasted at the fact that this place charges for a cup of water. The petty charges for sides and dipping sauces really put a bad taste in my mouth besides the gritty seafood. In due time this place will close I’m sure.

First off, glad I got a Kickin Crab near my pad. Secondly, the to-go only took 15 minutes so it was very convenient. Kickin Crab sauce is different because it has a little sweetness to it. But overall I still think Claws in GG is my favorite. It just suits my taste buds the best. I never ever ever eat BC anymore and its not because of the wait, its because of that liquidy bullshit grease sauce they give you. I like the thick sauce with lots of garlic and all that good good. Either way it was convenient and it tastes just as good as the Kickin Crab in Westminster.

Was unimpressed by the Kickin Crab. First of all, make sure you don’t get lost. The location is located behind the Buena Park Mall. I had to finally call to find the place. Second, service is slow, even when the place is not busy at all. Third, it’s spicier than you anticipate. Medium spice here is more like Spicy. We started with the oysters. Most of them were fresh, pretty decent. Thank goodness for that. We had white rice, garlic noodles, and the shrimp and clam combo. The noodles were sticky and not very good. The rice was really hard, like dang my tooth hurt eating that grain of rice. I’m assuming it was old and sitting in the pot for a while. Most of the shrimp and clams were fresh. Only a few bad mushy shrimp in the bunch which is expected. The flavor was ok, but it was just way too spicy for being a medium level. No major complaints but no major compliments either

I LOVE this place. I was home for a week and ended up here twice! The service here is really fast compared to most places like this. I went on a Sunday evening and it was crowded. I was with a group of three and the wait was 30 minutes, but it was definitely more like 15 minutes. We has a really nice server and he took our order promptly and kept checking in on our table. I ordered 2LB of shrimp and 2 order of garlic noodles for our table. Both are so freaking delicious ! I will definitely be coming back to this Kickin Crab!

Ate here a 3rd time and still disappointed. I rather drive 20 mins to the Westminster location.

Great atmosphere & great food without a long wait. Shrimp was served hot and delicious. Servers very attentive and after my bib ripped she wrapped a new one around me since my hands were messy. TV’s everywhere to enjoy sports. Music very hip and vibrant. I gave 4 out of five because the hostess who say us was not very hospitable. She was keeping busy and that is good but hospitality begins and finishes with your host. She ran off to the table and pointed at it while we were still walking to it. She did this though out our visit but again she kept busy. Looking forward to coming back soon.

I recently came here on a Sunday night and I had an absolutely amazing experience. I have been a big fan of the the Boiling Crab for a while now but the Kickin’ Crab is for sure my new favorite and my new spot for tasty seafood. We came around 7pm and it was busy. We were told that it would be a 20 minute wait, so we went to the counter to grab a drink while we waited(they only serve beer and wine). We had barely gotten our drinks and they told us our table was ready, cool! We were greeted right away by our very nice server, Brittany. We ordered the«choose 3 out of 4 combo.» We chose the shrimp, mussels, and clams. The 4th option is crawfish but I do not care for crawfish. It comes to your table in a big bag. This combo also includes corn on the cob, potatoes, and sausage. Everything was amazing! I LOVE mussels and clams and these ones were so delicious. You get to choose the sauce that you want your food to be cooked in or should I say«soaked» in. We went with the«kickin sauce» which includes Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic seasonings. SOGOOD! We ordered the Cajun fries as well and we enjoyed dipping the fries in the«kickin sauce.» I was getting so full but I couldn’t stop eating because the food was so good. I will definitely be coming here from now on. I think the Kickin’ Crab is better than the Boiling Crab for several reasons. 1) The price is better at the Kickin’ Crab. Our combo was around $ 34 and it came with A LOT of food. 2) The Kickin’ Crab serves beer and wine. The Boiling Crab only serves beer. 3) The Boiling Crab always has a crazy long wait and the Kickin’ Crab is equally as busy but the wait time is much shorter. I left my dinner experience here with a smile on my face because everything was so good. If you are a huge fan of seafood and cajun seasoning, like myself, then this is the place for you. ALSO, this place is a little tricky to find if it’s your first time. My GPS told me that the Kickin’ Crab was over by the Olive Garden in this shopping center, which was not correct at all. It is actually right behind the Sears and next to John’s Incredible Pizza.

Well I have to say my city is doing a good job having enough restaurants to eat at and increasing business at the mall. I had to make a visit to the Kickin Crab to see how good it is. It’s big inside with a lot of TV’s, and the prices were reasonable. The food and service was good, my favorites were the fish tacos and garlic noodles. I deducted a star because the calamari was breaded enough that there was no calamari. This is a good seafood restaurant to go to.

Solid location! Came here with my bf and his fam. We got two of the seafood combos, both medium spicy. You get to choose which proteins, and since we got two different combos, there’s a lot of customization for your order. Always a bonus! Crab legs, mussels, shrimp, corn, sausages and potatoes, just flying all over the place. We started off with calamari and cajun fries, both good but the fries could have been a bit crispier. Boil is very flavorful and has a slightly stronger curry/turmeric taste. However, a few mussels were slightly overcooked. Not a big deal as it still was well-cooked, overall. They also offer salt/pepper and lime if that’s your thing(it’s my thing). Dip all the things! The sauce is less salty than BC, as many have said, but I like it! The medium was perfect for my tolerance level too. Tip: always make sure to shake up the bag before opening it up, because the ones on top were plain and needed dipping into the bottom of the bag. For four people and two combos, there were a lot of leftovers! Service was good the entire time and we didn’t wait at all on a Sunday for dinner. They have quite a few beer and sake options, too, if you want a drink with all your goodies. We each had a Corona, cause light beer always goes well with seafood! All in all, good meal!

Although I acknowledge the greatness that is Boiling Crab, I cannot wait 2 hrs to eat. I just can’t. The Kickin’ Crab is just as good AND closer to my house AND no wait. SCORE! They didn’t have fresh crawfish when I went the other day, so I got a lb of shrimp and a lb of clams medium spicy, kickin style. I’m sorry BC, but The Kickin’ Crab is giving you a run for your money. SO. GOOD. My table also ordered the cajun fries, ½ dozen raw oysters and ½ dozen raw clams. Everything was great EXCEPT the clams. I’ve had raw clams over a dozen times and I’ve never seen the kind they served. They were really ugly and looked dried out. Didn’t taste great either. They were Mexican chocolate clams or something like that. I wouldn’t recommend. The oysters weren’t shucked properly either so we had to scrape them off the shells with our forks. Aside from that, no complaints. My new go-to spot for Cajun seafood boil!

I finally chose kickin crab over boiling crab. Right we walked they sat us down. The waiter took our order and got the food right away and they were checking up on us and refilling our cups. The service was excellent and food was good. I got the 1lb shrimp, sweet potatoes fries and rice. :) We’re in and out within 40 mins. If we would of gone to boiling crab 730 on a Thursday I would of waited for at least 75 mins. I’ll be coming here again.

Normally the Buena Park mall is a rather dead venue. Apparently there is a push toward a revival as they have been featuring more family friendly restaurants from Wild Buffalo Wing, John’s Incredible Pizza, to Dickies BBQ. The Kickin’ Crab is making their presence known, as they occupy a corner store near the Krikorian Movie Theater, closer to the Sears department store. We came on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and arrived at 6:00 pm. Upon walking in, we saw that most of the tables were unoccupied, yet we were told it would be a 40 minute wait. We told the host that we would come back in half an hour, as we went to check out something at the Bed, Bath and Beyond. Apparently, the wait was less than quoted, as we were passed on the wait list by 6 parties when we returned at 6:30. No worries! The host(who kept asking me 4 times what my name was) gave me my table immediately. Our server was good, but not great. She was friendly, and refilled my water glass, but failed to refill Stephen’s coke. It was Stephen’s first time to a Cajun«food in a bag» restaurant, so I chose the Combo 1 to share with 2 pounds of shrimp, 1 pound of crawfish, and a side of the red rice. The food came out piping hot, and we tore into the food without any problem. It was messy, and it was garlicky, and the medium was a tad spicy for Stephen, so I ordered another pound of shrimp but with the mild sauce to offset the medium spice. It worked. The mild is a buttery version of the medium, but no kick. My only gripe on Kickin Crab is I wished they offered mints at the door, or, offered a cool dessert to cleanse the garlicky palate. As soon as you’re done with your meal, they slap the check on the table, so they could make way for the next wave of waiting guests. Our bill for 2 before tip came to $ 54. Stephen really enjoyed his dinner, and we had garlic coming out of our pores for the rest of the weekend. Like Irvine, this location is opened for lunch.

I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Got a pound of kicking style shrimp with corn and sausage. Tasted perfect! Cajun Fries were also legit. Food comes out pretty fast. Much bigger and more spacious than the others I have been to. Not a long wait time. Pretty cool servers here. Very friendly and prompt with the service. They definitely care about their level of service. Kyle was our server. Nice young kid. Checked up on us a lot. Cons: no gloves for peeling shrimp like they provide at the Lynwood location. Overall it’s very comparable to Boiling Crab. We will definite be coming back. Very clean restaurant to.
