The fresh kimchi and pork bowl was sooooo good. I’m a freak for Korean food and this place fills the void! I shall return!

The food here is so good! we got combo rolls, carbonara ttokbbokki with soondae on the side, jjolmyun(bibim noodles), and kimchi fried rice. IT was Filling for 6 – 7 people and the price is flexible too! Service was fast and the manager(i believe) was friendly and very patient with our indecisiveness haha! Yogi Yogi is the best :)

I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and I was definitely not disappointed. Good portions, fast and friendly service. Totally satisfied my cravings! We ordered the Yogi topokki, beef fried rice(bulgogi), cutlet with topokki, and the yogi special #2 kimbap! Complimentary bowl of soup at the beginning and we also had free coffee available. Definitely will come back again. The food is so delicious.

I’ve only been here once but this place is really good! I got two items(one of the rice cakes & sushi platter) and it was enough for two people. The server was attentive and super friendly as well!

The food here is pretty similar to ‘School Foods’ in LA. It was pretty good that the food was tasty with enough portion and reasonable price. I recommend their spicy carbonara rice cake and yogi special 2. There was only one server who works as cashier as well. Even tho he was nice and kind, i think it would be better if there is at least one more person who takes care of the tables. The restaurant is not that big but it is clean and neat.

One of the best Korean«fast food/Boon-shik» places around the OC area. It is located on Beach Blvd and Artesia Blvd next to a gas station. I’ve tried the OG tteokbokgi(spicy) and soy sauce carbonara tteokbokgi. Overall, the rice cake is so chewy, and I loved the texture. Also it’s bite size, so I like how I don’t have to bite off a part of the rice cake. For the OG one, it was pretty spicy but also salty. However, I came here with my mom, and she said it tasted like the tteokbokgi that she ate in her childhood. So I’m guessing this place is the real deal. For the soy sauce carbonara, I really liked it. Not salty at all, and I was able to taste both the soy sauce and the carbonara. I’ve also tried the Yogi special roll #2 as well(spam, black squid, and masago eggs? Not so sure for the third one). And it was pretty good. I’m honestly not sure if the sauce on the side adds anything to the taste though, but I just dip it in just because haha Definitely coming back whenever I crave Korean fast food

This is my new favorite Korean restaurant. I was never a fan of deokbeoki. But I guess now I am. My friends and I ordered soy carbonara deokbeoki and it was super delicious. Compare to other places, I have to say they have the best deokbeoki I have ever tried. We also had #2 special rolls. It was good especially the squid rolls. We had #5 in the rice section, it said Best but eventually I don’t think it was. It was quite plain since it was just egg with rice and pork? I think. It was not flavorful. I would not recommend this. I should have tried the kimchi or beef fried rice. Overall, I would definitely come back for their deokbeoki and the rest of the menu :)

This place has unfortunately gone down the drain… During my last couple visits, the food tasted nothing like it used to. They must’ve changed the chef or something because the food tastes like a freakin 10 year made it! Spicy carbonara ddukbokki tastes more like cheese than carbonara and the cast iron butter rice was missing butter and served with mushy rice. Unacceptable! It’s too bad they thought they could change things to cut costs and get away with it. Quality of the food has gone down and this place sucks now!

Traditional street snacks transformed into a hipster/fusion cuisine. I was in the area and Yogi Yogi was one of my bookmarked restaurants, so I thought why not. Yogi Yogi is exactly like School Food in LA — or at least that was the impression I got when I saw their menu/food choices. Ended up ordering two items: Soy Carbonara DukBokGgi($ 8.99) and Kimchi Fried Rice($ 8.99). Both were good — like REALLYREALLYGOOD. The DukBokGgi was creamy and full of flavor. It also included clear glass noodles, onions, and mushroom. The presentation of the fried rice was definitely Instagram worthy. It came in a cute little skillet with a perfect egg right on top. Of course, I had to pop the yolk in slo-mo. Kimchi fried rice included spam so that was a plus! Each person also gets a side of the o-deng soup which was refreshing. Generous portions wth fast/friendly service calls for a great place when in need for a quick Korean fix. *If you spend over $ 20(before taxes), you also get 2 free soft drinks.

It is a simple korean style quick bite place. Interior is pretty clean and modern unlike exterior, plenty parking even during the lunch time. I got one Dduk soon yee– dduk bok kki with soon dae combo-, and a Udon with Kim bap lunch combo. Udon is nothing special, big pieces of fish cake toppings, at least the soups is not salty or acidic, and it was served pretty hot. I chose Bool go gi kim bap, the portion is very small. Kim bap here is all mini roll size. Rice cake is soft, not too chewy which K prefer, sauce is nothing special, simple go chu jang based. I got the mildest sauce and it was just right for my tastebud. Soon dae, I prefer Jopok dduk bok kki’s soondae because it is more soft, tender and less bloody. Overall, all items are pretty much store bought and out of package ingredients, they are over priced. I was in the area and needed a quick bite, other wise I won’t crave any of items on their menu. Place is clean, service is ok and not crowded so if you really are in rush and near by, you can give it a try once.

Solid place to fulfill my kimbap and spicy rice cake cravings for sure. It’s a small shop, but fortunately I never run into a huge crowd when dining here. My favorite thing to order here is the chef special kimbap, which includes three different kinds of kimbap. The chef special includes: squid, masago, and spam. I think the mix of flavors is really great because you get to try a little bit of everything. I’ve also tried both the carbonara ddukbokki as well as the regular one with katsu. I think I still prefer ordering the regular spicy one and adding ramen to it, despite all the different options available. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the katsu with ddukbokki because it is SO dry. Was hoping I could finally find a katsu spot in the area that hit the spot, but nope. Either way, yogi yogi is a great place for a quick lunch. The kimbap and ddukbokki are pretty good, and as simple as the soup and pickled radish are– I still really appreciate the fact that they’re complimentary.

I’m not sure if it’s the imaginary Korean blood in me but I really enjoyed the food here. We got the Spicy Carbonara Topokki and the Kimchi Bibim Noodles. I’ve gotta tell you, those dishes really took me back to all the Korean dramas I watched. I liked them both very much, but the kimchi noodles were amazing. I’m such a sucker for anything kimchi. A must try.

I’ve tried many different Korean street food places but there was always something missing. I came here little past when they opened and had brunch with my friend. Let me tell you, everything sounded good. I’m Korean and I love street food and I’ve been on the hunt to look for somethin that’s good. I think I’m going to settle for this place since I live pretty close to this location. My friend and I ordered the spicy carbonara rice cake, number 1 for the roll set and fried seaweed with glass noodles inside. It was pretty good. We killed it and was so full after. The rolls are little small kimbaps in different flavors and Ive never tried the spicy carbonara spicy ricecake but it was good. I’m planning to try a lot of the things on the menu, so will update when I do so!

Was so hyped about this restaurant because I really loved the presentation of the food. We walked in, didn’t have to wait, so we were given our seat… but were not given menus. We had to grab them ourselves! Food came out… no utensils. What? Now for food– Noodles– served cold with an egg! So yummy, yes yes try their noodles. Kimbap– smelt egg was my least favorite, squid ink and spam are pretty good. Smelt egg was a little bland for me. Complimentary soup– complimentary. Okay. I’ll take it.

My favorite ddukbokki(korean spicy rice cakes) outside of Korea. The restaurant is casual but they’ve taken korean street food and elevated it. Great place if you want very homey food with a twist. Hands down: 5⁄5. Food: this is all that matters to me and I am very happy every time I come to Yogi Yogi. I usually order the Yogi Ddukbokki and the Spicy Carbonara Ddukbokki. This time we got the shrimp fried rice and it was pretty decent. The ddukbokki is always consistently delicious. The yogi ddukbokki comes with 3 spice levels: nice spicy, medium spicy, and very spicy(if you don’t eat spicy well. Don’t dare touch the medium+). The spicy carbonara sauce is like liquid gold on soft clouds of ddukbokki. At least, that’s how my best friend feels. Definitely epic. The fried rice was not too full of flavor, but it definitely complemented the ultra flavorful ddukbokki very well. 6⁄5 Restaurant & service: the restaurant is very casual and you’re greeted with korean pop music when you walk in. The service is good; it’s not mastros, but why would you expect it to be. 5⁄5 for what I’d expect. My wife’s favorite food is ddukbokki and she wishes she could eat it with more ease. I’ve made it very often and I’m very confident with the taste, but why try when you can just come here and indulge. P. s. I am ashamed to say my ddukbokki is like baby food compared to theirs. I like Jaws ddukbokki in Korea, but Jaws doesn’t have their spicy carbonara so no complaints from me hahaha!

Was looking for a non-fancy dinner spot with my husband and daughter, and stumbled upon YY. The Unilocal pictures looked good so was excited to try this place. Basically a fancy style boon-shik restaurant. Reminds me a lot of ‘School Food’ in Korea town. We ordered one set of rolls, ddukbokki and pork katsu. All together it was about $ 30. A little pricey IMO. On the menu, there’s a spicy range for dddukbokki but our server didn’t ask us, so we just assumed it would be a normal spicy range. My husband LOVES spicy but it was overly spicy to the point where I felt like it was inedible. The rolls were small but filling. The portion for the pork katsu was decent but it looked like it was sprinkled with a lot of seasoning on the breading. The service was fine but I think you can run down the block to Hmart and get similar items for half the price at the supermarket.

Their carbonara toppokki may have changed the way I look at Italian food… meaning: Koreans do it better. Yogi Yogi takes all the creamy, smoky, salty, rich flavors of an Italian favorite and layers them over big, happy chunks of rice pasta and sweet onion, then serves with lots of fresh cracked black pepper. The dish was perfect imo, I’m already craving the hot & soy versions! The rolls are perfectly assembled, fun to eat and taste so good with the white goop on the side of the platter and the tangy yellow radishes that come with the meal. I love that they have combos of three for those who want to order it all, like me. Everything is so reasonably priced and the portions are generous. This place is adorable and the service is quick and friendly. If I were to ever open a restaurant, I’d try to obtain one of these old school Taco Bell buildings: D

I love ddukbokki and the idea of pasta ddukbokki sounds even better. The store looks like it use to be a taco shop. The décor is simple nothing special it’s more about the cheap eats than the atmosphere. We ordered the hot spicy carbonara ddukbokki and chef special kimbap which is squid ink, smelt egg, and spam. The kimbap portion is more of a snack size it’s tiny instead of your regular size. Taste wise I couldn’t taste the squid ink or much of the spam. The smelt egg with imitation crab tasted the best. The sauce tastes like some kind of mayo? The dish was kind of bland I wouldn’t order it again. There hot spicy carbonara ddukbokki is pretty good for the price. The sauce is more thin I would like it better if it was on the thick side since it would coat the rice cake better but it must be the way it’s normally made since typically the sauce ddukbokki is in is more on the thin side. The sauce was more a red sauce carbonara it wasn’t too spicy, there was had bacon, and onions. The rice cake was soft, chewy, and a cooked perfectly. The idea of pasta sauce and ddukbokki is definitely a good marriage. Pretty good and cheap for under ten dollars. I definitely want to come back to try their spam risotto next time.

Can we talk about their spicy carbonara ddukbokki?! I LOVE ddukbokki, it’s one of my comfort foods and this fusion version is making it hard for me to stay away from carbs. So perfectly soft, chewy, and delicious! They offer other Korean«snack» foods such as kimbap(Korean style roll) and donkatsu(breaded and fried pork) along with udon and whatnot… BUT you’re here for their ddukbokki, got it?! Just don’t eat it all! Save me some :)

The bf and I came by on a Friday for lunch and ordered the Hot Cabonara Topokki(& ramen) and Chef Special Roll 2 to share. It was the perfect amount of food for a light and satisfying lunch. The hot cabonara topokki was very creamy and flavorful. The bacon bits, mushrooms and onions added a nice flavor to the sauce. The sauce was well balanced with a little bit of heat and a hint of sweetness. It was so good that we had to put in an order for a side of ramen to soak up every last bit of the sauce! The rice cake was also cooked nicely keeping its soft and chewy texture. As for the chef special roll 2, it comes with three different varieties — black squid ink, smelt egg, and spam. The rolls were pretty standard in taste, but the presentation was very cute. They arrived on a wooden platter with mayo swirls on the side. Very photogenic and instagram-worthy! We thoroughly enjoyed our first hot cabonara topokki, and I am sure we will be back quite often!
