Okay, it’s a Subway! We were on our way to Crested Butte and were looking for quick and easy The line was horribly long, but seemed to move at a good pace. The place is right on the highway and nothing has been done to soften the landscape. It is basic hardscrabble weeds and road base with a little litter thrown in for effect. I had dogs to walk and it was very unattractive. I saw others walking dogs and they didn’t seem to enjoy themselves either. I think if I was running a eatery that targeted highway travelers I would want a more attractive presentation and I would probably want to provide a little nicer area to dog-walk rather than the highway ditch and a little barren land with a couple of dead trees. The actual subs were good and the service good considering how many they were serving all at once.

Headed here right before a hike up to the collegiate peaks. The footlong sub filled me up nicely. All the ingredients tasted fresh and tasty. The guy doing bread and meat was a little short, but he got my order right. Pretty standard Subway. They did have fresh avocado for $ 1 which was tasty.

Ended up here after cruising a bit through town looking for something local for lunch. To my surprise, all the locals were here. Not many cars outside the non-chain restaurants. It’s typical Subway. Nothing more, nothing less. Which is good. Not all chain store-fronts successfully attain their HQ’s minimum standards.
