Worst service and management ever. I had reservations but still had to wait over 2 hours when I got there. I guess they held tables because some VIPs were running late. Food is okay though.

I will never go here again. Nor will any of my co-worker’s. Over-priced, mediocre at best, this place wishes they were as good as a chain. Over-cooked meat, change the oil for the fries – this place is insulting. I will never return and tell everyone I know now never to spend a dime in this sad excuse of a Steakhouse.

Restaurant week goers make your reservations! This was my first time at BCH and I doubt it will be my last. Restaurant week gives you an opportunity to try out all those places on your wish list and I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. First off, know that you should dress up when you come here to eat! Secondly, the free valet service, friendly faces at the door, and décor(all updated 2 years ago) makes this an unforgettable experience. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and it was some of the best service I’ve had. I tried the prime rib which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes for $ 20.16(great deal because usually the menu is a la carte) and the table ordered a bottle of wine. The prime rib was very tender and melts in your mouth but the sides weren’t anything special. They also had a $ 30.16 option and $ 40.16 option which included a starter. We each had dessert– I chose crème brûlée which was some of the best I’ve had! I gave this 4 stars because of the sides options and this isn’t normally where I’d choose to go but worth it for you meat lovers!

I decided to try BCH for time earlier this week. It was my birthday so I decided to treat myself to what I knew was going to be a pricey meal. I figure I’m worth it! I went with my wife as she’s worth it too! We took advantage of the complimentary valet parking, checked her coat, and were quickly shown to our table. The restaurant was relatively empty. I really enjoyed the unique style of how the restaurant is designed and decorated. Our table was on the second floor overlooking the beautiful bar. All of the staff were very friendly and professional including our waiter. He was even cool when I some how managed to smack myself in the face with the glass as I tasted the Chardonnay I’d selected(yeah I’m smooth). We both went with the filet(8oz and 12 oz) ordered rare and medium rare respectively. I also added a lobster tail as it was my day to treat myself. When the steaks arrived they looked great right up until we cut in to them. The cook on both were wrong! Since we both had the same cut and didn’t want to have to send our whole meal back we decided to trade as we both agreed the other’s looked better. The lobster was tasty and properly prepared. I would have rated BCH higher if they weren’t famous for their steaks. They were high quality, but messing up the cook on both fillets killed it for me. This is made all the worse by paying almost $ 300 once I threw in the tip. I feel you can find the same level of dining for a more reasonable price and without the issues if you look elsewhere. I doubt I’ll be back unless maybe on someone else’s dime.

Great steak, lobster Mac and cheese, and soups! Their stuffed peppers are the best! Heaven!

The food was hands down impeccable. The server spoke too fast, and it took forever for anything to happen. That’s why they get 3 stars.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner, appetizer, steak, seafood and drinks. Our seating was comfortable and I especially liked that the background music was Sinatra and the like, and that the volume was enough to set the mood without being intrusive. The building and décor are unique and make it feel like you are on a vacation in your own hometown. Our waiter, Bill, was welcoming and knowledgeable and we did engage him in conversation to which he patiently complied. In our family it has always been the rapport displayed by the wait staff that leaves the most lasting impression. We would have stayed for dessert but had no room! Next time!

If you’re looking to get fancy, this place is your place! They offer complimentary vallet because the parking lot is so tiny which ended up being super nice! You walk in and you can also check your coats in for free. You’re greeted by a beautiful bar. Of course it’s the first thing I noticed :) This is def a place where you need to get reservations. The décor is to die for. Huge thrown like velvet chairs. Dim lighting. It’s gorgeous inside! Everything is al la carte and can pretty much feed an army, so def share! I ordered steak and shared sides with the table. It was delicious. As someone that typically doesn’t eat red meat, I loved my dish! Few glasses of wine deep, the table decided to share the 12 layer chocolate cake. Please. Order this. Even if you’re full up to your eyeballs. You can’t leave this place without this cake. Between 4 people, we ended up taking more than half home. but why not! Place was divine!

It was our first visit and we made reservations for valentine’s day. We arrived and were promptly seated on the 3rd floor! We had no idea how big this place was. High scale ambiance. Tuna tartar appetizer was very tasty. 12 oz filet melted in my mouth. The side of roasted wild mushrooms and fries were perfect as well. We didn’t have room for dessert. Well done, Buffalo Chophouse.

First off the interior of this place is gorgeous. The staff is polished, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Unfortunately, I feel ill just before appetizer salad arrived. So, we wound up taking everything to go. I was disappointed in the chophouse salad. Only one piece of hearts of palm. I was expecting more than just a bowl of lettuce with a few things sprinkled on the top for $ 11.50. My boyfriend ordered the Delmonico and the scalloped potatoes. The potatoes were awesome. I personally was not a fan of the steak… he said it was ok. Definitely not worth the hefty price tag that came with it. The lobster bisque didn’t taste fresh. Maybe because it was so early we were served yesterday’s soup? A little too thin for my taste also. Not sure if it was an off night for all involved. I don’t think I’ll return to this restaurant. Sad because everyone raves about it. It’s just not good enough to warrant the pricing on the menu.

Loved this place! It had an old school vibe with everything made of wood. There are two stories. I feel like these are the best steak houses. Old school is the way to go for steakhouses in my opinion. I think there is a third floor that is more of a private room. I saw one table up there and it reminded me of lady and the tramp for some reason. We were able to sit on the second floor which I was happy about because the first floor had a strong smell of oil. The service was great. Our waiter was very knowledgable and attentive. It put a cherry on top to our great visit. We decided to skip the appetizers and opt for more sides with our main course. My sister and I split the 12 oz filet mignon. We then ordered the lobster mac and cheese, twice baked potato and the asparagus. The lobster mac and cheese was very tasty and the lobster wasn’t too overpowering. It also wasn’t too heavy which I liked. The twice baked potato was also good. I didn’t try the asparagus so I cannot comment on it. The steak was awesome! We had it cooked medium and it turned out so tender and melted in your mouth. I really enjoyed it. It is pricy here compared to most Buffalo restaurants so I would suggest coming here for a special event like an anniversary or special event.

Took my lovely wife out for a post Xmas meal to unwind. She had never been to Chophouse so I thought it would be a nice change. I booked our reservation on Open Table(love that app). The morning of our scheduled dinner I received a call from Chophouse to confirm. Excellent ! That evening when we arrived, we were promptly greeted and sat with no delay. The atmosphere was a bit fancy, but we knew that going into this. Food was very expensive, however we knew this also. My wife got the 12 oz filet and I the swordfish special. Both were amazing. After dinner, the manager stopped over to see how everything was. Again, excellent follow up. Good Job Chophouse ! We will see you again !

I came here for dinner with all my business partners. It was about 20 of us and i was worried if they can even accommodate us. BUTTHEYDIDVERYWELL. Our server was GINO and he did an amazing job. I think this 5 star review really just goes to him. Food I was able to split a meal with 4 people but we ordered a lot. French Onion Soup — Made with Gouda Cheese on top the soup was delicious and not too salty like others i had in buffalo Seafood platter for 2 — oysters were fresh and didn’t taste salty at all. Lobster tail was included and also crab meat. Wasn’t too wow but the oysters were good!!! Cream Corn — Maybe i just love cream corn but this was delicious. Tempura Shrimp — comes out on skewers attached to a pineapple. very tasty Entrée Bone in Porter House. — Cooked medium the porter House was a huge portion that was shareable for two people. It was delicious and cooked perfectly with mushroom and onions spread on top. Bone in Fillet Mignon — First time trying a Bone In Fillet Mignon and i was not disappointed at all. The center of the meat was super tender and juicy but when you got closer to the bone it was even better. Service Amazing Service! The server walked us through the complete menu, was on top of our drink orders and refill and was able to converse with us. Even showed us the top floor of the restaurant. We were a difficult group to handle but they did an amazing job

This is the iconic restaurant downtown area. We had dinner there last year to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The atmosphere is old fashion and very Buffalo. We enjoyed the dining environment. Service is excellent, same is food. Best stake and lamb chop in the area. Price is well worth spend.

My husband and i choose the chophouse to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and it didnt dissapoint. Loved this place with just a few complaints. First the great: free valet parking, gorgeous dimly lit atmosphere, delicious food without being snobby and stuffy, wonderful service from our waiter Mathew! Onto the not so good– made a reservation but somehow still had to wait 30mins for our table. Not sure why that happened but it wasn’t my favorite. Also served hanger steak on cold asparagus– maybe it was meant as garnish?. Not sure if this was on purpose but it was certainly gross! Overall loved the place and would be sure to go back the next time ny husband and I are in the area. We had the calamari for appetizer and the portions where enormous. It was perfectly fried! Steaks where amazing and equally delicious was the lobster mac and cheese we choose as a sharable side. The chocolate cake for 2 was moist decadent and enormous! I don’t think you can wrong with anything on the menu!

If you appreciate a perfect steak, then Buffalo Chophouse is your place. I’ve gone a few times… every time my steak was cooked to perfection. The steaks are so flavorful with a nice crust on the outside but still cooked to my liking on the inside while still being tender. That my friends, is hard to perfect. You may think you’ve had a good steak in your lifetime, but not until you try BCH. I prefer the filet while my boyfriend gets the NY strip steak and both are perfection. The sides that go along with the meat are delicious as well. You can’t go wrong with the mashed potatoes or any of the vegetables. The lobster mac and cheese is divine… lobster and mac and cheese. What more could a girl ask for?! As far as appetizers go, I can only recommend the roasted banana peppers because that is the only appetizer I allow my boyfriend and I to get when we go. Honestly, the best banana peppers you will ever have. The cheese blend inside is perfect. We’ve also split the iceberg wedge salad and french onion soup. Now I know what you’re thinking… it’s hard to mess up a wedge salad. But they make their own bleu cheese dressing, which is appreciated. The french onion soup is in my top 3 for favorites in Buffalo! For dessert, we get the crème brulee, which is pretty good. The workers are so professional and constantly making sure everything is to the guests satisfaction. Very friendly and helpful… they even come over and fold your napkin for you if you get up to go to the bathroom! The inside is nicely decorated, a little tacky in parts. But I love their giant red chairs that you could be seated in. You feel like royalty! If you’re coming to BCH, be prepared to spend a decent amount of money. Everything is a la carte… meaning you’re paying for your meat and sides separate(sides are family style so they’re big enough to share). But you get what you pay for, and for a special evening, Chophouse is definitely worth it!

Started off with the lobster bisque and my accompaniment got the French onion(you’ll see this is a pattern in my reviews. Lobster bisque was very smooth and you definitely tasted the lobster. A slice of puff pastry doused in truffle oil topped with a small amount of sour cream and very very small piece of lobster meet resided on top of the soup. I was confused how to eat the puff pastry but figured to submerge it in the soup and it softened and the truffle oil helped flavor the soup. Addition of lobster pieces would have been nice especially for a 12.50 bowl of soup. The French onion was French onion. My accompaniment said the cheese on top was very good because of how crisp it got. I ordered the filet with Danish blue butter. And holy cow there was a lot of Danish blue butter. It was very good. Cook perfectly. My accompaniment got the strip steak. There was a large piece of cartilage but he ate around it. We took most of it home since we ate all of the bread before the meal. The steaks do not come with sides. You pay separately. The sides are family style which I like and don’t like since we like different things. We agreed upon the creamed corn. It looked terrible but tasted really good. Creamy and sweet. It was a great accompaniment to the steak. No desert for us. Too full. Left with a $ 165 bill. Id say 3.5÷5 stars. Only because $ 165 is hefty and it’s hard to justify that. The steaks were very very good but I do think they should come with sides. No better than Black and Blue. Service was very good.

Easily one of my favorite places to eat — and sometimes, just grab a cocktail, in all of Buffalo. Apps are on point — some are innovative and some are classic steakhouse. Same goes for steaks and sides. I enjoy a filet, as where most classic steakhouse guys will tell you«ribeye, ribeye, ribeye.» I’m a filet guy. However, I do also order the lamb here and its wonderful. Relaxing atmosphere, accomodating staff and excellent food and service.

Came here with family while visiting Buffalo to take the bar exam. First — The ambiance is incredible. Very nice décor and the seating is cool, with some tables on the top floor, which looks down to the bottom floor and bar. Huge comfy chairs and nice vintage photos hanging Second — excellent staff. Our waiter was very friendly and knew the menu very well and was able to point us all in the right direction. Third — The food! Excellent! I have eaten steak at many of the best places — Gallagher’s Las Vegas, Gallagher’s NYC, Shula’s Virginia and NYC, Chicago Chop House, Old Homestead Atlantic City, Delmonico etc. And I can honestly say that this steak was top 3 easily! I ordered the KC strip, which had the bone in. It was incredible! Cooked perfectly with a light char. I also enjoyed oysters and lobster. Both very good. Other members of my party had salmon, and other cuts of steak, which were all great. This is a must visit if you are in the Buffalo/Niagara area and live steak!

I came here last year for my birthday. It happened to fall on restaurant week. I had the applewood smoked bacon appetizer and the prime rib entrée. The bacon was crispy and the steak was tender. The steak was a good size. I could only finish half my meal. It was a bit overwhelming when I entered the steakhouse. Beautiful place with a piano and bar. The service was good. The waiter was knowledgeable. I’m always impressed when my bread crumbs are removed. There is valet parking so I didn’t need to worry about street parking. Reservations are highly recommended.
