Loved it! Cozy and affordable. Nothing fancy but just my kind of place. Breakfast sandwich was delicious and filling, waters were large and ice cold, and the coffee refills didn’t stop. Not to mention the fantastic freshly made donuts. I’ll certainly be back soon!

The former Sisters African Food place on Hertel is now«Café on the Avenue». They have done a great job with the space. Looks great inside. Paint job and 8 – 10 new tables etc. outside has a nice new awning. They are making homemade donuts in front of you and also serving breakfast and lunch. Menu is diner food. Grill is open and visible to the customers. The sign outside says Thur pasta nights and Fri fish frys but I only saw breakfast and lunch hours. We stopped in on their first day open, which was a test run. It was fairly busy, mostly family and friends I think. We had coffee and donuts. You can see them being made, which I find very cool. I went back the next day for a more extensive meal, but they weren’t open. Driving by this am they are open. And ready for you. I can see this being 5 stars, but I’ll have to be back a few more times for that. Meanwhile, welcome to this new family owned Buffalo place. Street parking. Near Hertel and Commonwealth. 2021
