Welcome to Iron Island. Or rather Iron Ireland. Or rather Iron Poland, more likely. If you’re stick-thin and driving around in your vehicle, then you are Car-Bony. In which case you belong in here. I am almost positive I reviewed Carbone’s Pizza on Lovejoy a long, long, long time ago. Maybe there’s another listing somewhere? I don’t know. Anyway. Typical Buffalo Pizza and good Buffalo wings. I haven’t had it from here in over a year so I will have to check back and see how it’s doing these days in terms of quality. It wasn’t always consistent, and if you ordered a slice sometimes it had been sitting out and wasn’t as good… always ask them to heat it up first… but in general this is one of the better pizzerias in a city full of wonderful Pizza, and it’s better than Lovejoy down the street, although the guys in Lovejoy are friendlier.

Been slowly working my way through different pizza places to try as many as I can and figured Carbone’s would be next since its on my drive home from work. Ordered a pizza pack special of cheese and pep, with the double order of wings split half hot and half plain. Ordering and pickup was all seamless. Although I did think it was weird that along with the boxes for pizza and wings there was a brown bag of something. When I got home and checked it out, they were bread sticks. So a little added bonus there. Order came to $ 30 and change which is a slight bit on the high side for most pizza and wing specials. As to the food, well it was OK. The pizza is a Buffalo style with a thinner crust, not quite NYC style thin, but thinner than most Buffalo places., Cheese goes almost to the edge only leaving a tiny of crust at the end. The pep could use a slight bit more char too. Sauce was not too sweet as some places have as well. Ultimately not a bad slice, just not my preferred style. I like it a tiny bit thick and a nice piece of crust. As for the wings, the plain wings were fine, nice and crispy, but the hot wings were over sauced, litterally leaving this huge pool of sauce in the aluminum foil lined bottom of the box they came in. They weren’t ruined but were messy. Ultimately if you’re not a fan of average doughy Buffalo slice, you might like the pizza here and pay the few bucks more for it. For me for the price, its just not my style.

Just moved back to the neighborhood and this place used to be pretty good. Ordered a large cheese and pepperoni for dinner the other day. Was hit with extreme sticker shock when I picked up the pizza. 17.30 something for just a single large cheese and pepperoni pizza. From what I remember 2 years ago there pizza was pretty good. What I had I would call decent. Definitely not worth 17 dollars. Grabbed an updated menu and apparently pizza day is Monday and Tuesday. The pie is only 12 bucks and comes with breadsticks. I won’t be returning for pizza any time soon unless it’s for that special. No idea how the delivery is or any other menu items are now. They had good tacos back in the day.
