I went here late at night before closing. Idk If that has alot to do with the fact that my General Tso Chicken was soggy or not. The lo mein was disappointing bc I LOVE a good lo mein. and this was not. Again, not sure if it’s due to ordering 15 mins before closing. He egg rolls however were very good. I am an egg roll addict and these hit the spot. I was especially happy to see that they cleaned the shrimp(lots of Chinese resturants miss this). Overall, they just get 3 stars because of the lo mein and General Tso Chicken. I was disappointed but perhaps it’s alot better earlier in the day.

Been on the look for a great, affordable, Chinese restaurant. So glad we found this place! What a nice, hard working, family running the perfect restaurant. The location isn’t great so it’s definitely somewhere to order Togo and delivery. We ordered in-store for Togo and the wait was about 15 minutes, which is nothing for how busy they were! I ordered the veggie egg rolls, a hot&sour soup, and chicken fried rice; and my boyfriend ordered the cheese wontons, and the sesame chicken. Neither of us would change anything about our meals! Everything was absolutely perfect! I would drink that soup by the gallon if I could, the wontons were crispy and filled well, the sesame chicken was so flavorful my boyfriend just wanted to keep eating even though he was full, the fried rice was delicious and the chicken was boiled and not fried which was fantastic, the egg rolls were good as well. This is absolutely the place we will always order from! Thank you China Max for your hard work and quality food!

We love China Max, best Chinese food in the Amherst area. I recommend it to all my friends, it’s definitely worth the drive if your looking for a quick and relatively cheap dinner!

This place is always consistent. The best in my opinion. I will mention one dish, because with this dish it is all you need. The“BBQ Spare ribs”, on the bone. If you like sticky sweet tender bbq ribs then these are a must try! With their own twist on them I promise they will not disappoint…

Easy review. Everything is great, portions are large and prices are fair. I have been ordering take-out Chinese from here for many years and have never had a bad experience. The chow ho fun is one of my favorite dishes. It has wide rice noodles vegetables and your choice of meatand I am always more than satisfied. Their hot and sour soup is probably the best in town and I highly recommend it.

This place has always been my favorite local Chinese restaurant for takeout. I am assuming the people who run it are owners and always nice and polite food always quick. fresh and tasty, never had bad meal come from this place. So if u want great Chinese food, give this place a try. Even though I am not Chinese nor do I speak the language, I am starting to speak Chinese from amount of Chinese food I’ve eaten from here .and yes as per another reviewer most of Chinese places seem closed on Mondays, that’s only thing«max«please take decals off glass window saying place is open on Monday, my only minor complaint for new customers.

Ordered for delivery and it got here a lot quicker than expected. The food was piping hot and was some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in Buffalo.

I’ve been debating writing a review, and I know this may not be helpful, but China Max put a bad taste in my mouth(not literally) with the wrong hours being posted. Brad and I both had rough days at work on Monday and decided Chinese food would be the perfect cure. Since moving to Tonawanda, and living a mile away from China Max, we decided to go. Brad heard great reviews about it at work so we were excited to try it. Getting there, however, we saw that it was closed. The 2 signs that post their hours clearly said Monday: 10:00AM — 11:00PM. There was no sign on the store that said they were celebrating a holiday or anything like that. We even double checked that it was Monday. And indeed, it was. And we were there at 5:45PM. We were really bummed about it being closed. I’m sure we will try again since it is so close to our house, and at that time I will revise my review.

This is my boyfriend and i go to chinese take out. When we feel like staying in — we order for delivery. The delivery is always on time, and the food is always delicious. Only one time have china max forgot my sauce to my sweet and sour chicken(mistakes happen-especially on a busy friday night!). I called to tell them and right away they came with my sauce AND a 2 liter ice tea as an apology. Even after i called back(for the 2nd time) because i found an easy recipe for sweet and sour sauce. Before i could even get my ingredients together– china max was at my door. I love this place, they take care of you and wonderful to their customers.

Don’t ever buy an Apple computer if you are in the Far East. They are manufactured in Shanghai and will fall apart as soon as you get back to your home country. They are known as «China Macs» and are perhaps the worst investment you can make. Ever. Like, ever. I found this out the hard way. I don’t mean that I bought one. I mean I had to listen to 1,000 Chinese people screaming at me about it last time I was back East. Good times though. Good times. This restaurant relies on aforementioned broken-down computers to run, so I’m surprised they run so efficiently. Given that they run using«China Macs». Actually I was expecting amazing delicious Chinese food based on some friends’ recommendations and based on the reviews here. What I got was fairly average, it wasn’t awful but it wasn’t amazing either. The service was really nice and prices are dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt cheap so based on this alone, I was going to give them a 4. Unfortunately, I also tried the Bubble Teas. Oh. My Goodness. Overpriced and probably the worst tasting bubble teas I’ve ever had. I had to throw them out immediately. They tasted so old, they had bits and bobs in them, they were just… utterly gross. The food is worth 4 stars, skip the drinks, enjoy your meal, and don’t ever buy an Apple Computer from Shanghai. Like. Ever.

This is my top go-to joint for«cheap» Chinese food. I say«cheap» because the taste is anything but! I’ve ordered several of the vegetarian faux-meat dishes several times and been thrilled with just about all of them(I do prefer the seitan deep fried to become crispy rather than pan fried, which doesn’t get the right effect, I think). The veggies are fresh, the workers are friendly, and the place is clean. I just love it! For more about China Max Wok, you can read my review on Vegetarian Buffalo:

The kitchen and dining area were spotless! So glad for that. The food was excellent — best orange chicken I’ve had in a very long time.

Why you gotta do this to me, China Max? You were so delicious and quality and then you decided to give this here vegetarian MEAT instead of faux-chicken TWICE. Yes, I liked China Max so much that I went back even after the first mix-up. If you’d like to brave it, my fellow veggies, then make sure you are talking to the dude/owner/cook and not the woman at the counter. I said vegetarian very clearly on both occasions and she seemed to just ignore it in a hurry to get the order on through. Very nice people with great food at affordable prices, just not sure I can return.
