When I bought my house, the sellers conveniently failed to inform me that every summer, a lovely colony of carpenter ants chooses my wood porch as their breeding and feeding grounds. How nice.
Because carpenter ants will always return to same place, this warrants routine pest control. I used Terminix for the first couple years and was so frustrated and dissatisfied with them. Too expensive, awful customer service.
So I posed the question to my Facebook friends: which pest control company should I use?

I signed up for their yearly plan which comes to about $ 500 something every year. The best thing about this is it includes ALL pests! So even though they spray quarterly, if some scary little animal or bug creeps into my house, they will come out and it’s all included. Even a mouse or a bat!
This was put to the test already. Just two days after the technician came out to spray for the carpenter ants, my tenant informed me that a terrifying hornet was building a nest on her front porch. At first I was frustrated, thinking I would now have to pay for another visit by the technician. NOT SO! I called them Monday and someone was out first thing Tuesday to get rid of the nest. At no extra charge!
So far I have been very pleased with the customer service, both on the phone and in person. The technicians are very prompt, friendly and informative. They didn’t push extra services on me except for duct cleaning which I already knew I needed (thankfully they also offer this service which I am in the process of scheduling).
Highly recommend for all pest control services.

I hired them to exterminate mice in my attic. They basically just put big containers of poison up there and in other parts of the house, not very strategically either. I already did that myself, he just laid his bait next to mine in the attic. Cost $ 200. Then he tried to scare me about mold in my attic and basement and sell me $ 6,000 worth of services. Not very pleased. And they got me to sign a contract for quarterly services, which I promptly cancelled.

They did an excellent job!
They sprayed against carpenter bees and removed wasp nests. The first spray wasn’t enough and after a while there were still some. I called and they came back and sprayed for no additional fee.
It was great! :) Very affordable in comparison to their competition!
