We live around the corner and go here often. Once the bartenders and owner gets to know you they make your drinks strong :) we love it!

Gabels is a typical neighborhood bar. It’s always a good time. Great prices drinks and friendly staff

Gabel’s is strange. The bar is strange. There’s a lot of open space, some games along the side of the bar, darts in the back with some pool tables, but it’s not cozy. It’s not really welcoming, something is missing and I just can’t put my finger on it. It needs to be renovated, renovated badly. Someone needs to come in re-do the bar stools, the flooring, the walls. It’s just an open, cold space. I’ll tell you the missing items that I am able to reference: lemons. We ordered shots on a Friday night and unfortunately, the bartender who was very kind did not have any lemons to accommodate our lemon shots. I’m still chuckling as I write this. How does a bar on Hertel run out of lemons on a Friday night. There should be an endless supply of lemons in a cooler somewhere. That’s an essential necessity at any bar. We decided to do a Rumchata and Fireball shot but we could not get the four shots that we wanted because mid pouring the first shot, they ran out of Rumchata. Where is the backup supply of liquor. It was evident, they are running on empty and have the bare minimum to stock their bar. It was unorganized, and truthfully I felt bad for the bartender because she kept having to come over to tell us they were out of this and out of that. If I were to make an assumption, it would be that the bar isn’t making that much money because they were out of so many things. This place just didn’t do it for me.

This place is a true dump. There is nothing nice, pretty, or good about Gabel’s. I was forced to meet a friends here, and then forced to stay and«stop being so difficult»(per the boyfriend), but honestly, all I kept thinking«WHAT A FREAKIN’ DUMP!» The«trash» walking in and out of this place was scary. yes, scary. The bartender — she was the cover perfect cover poster for this place. The whole bar reeked of cigarette smoke, as if people were smoking inside. I am ALLLL about North Buffalo & Hertel Ave., but I would suggest avoiding this place at all costs. That is, unless you like the aforementioned.

I’ve lived close by(within walking distance) and never been in until Memorial Day with a date… He suggested Gable’s and I was a bit apprehensive. I arrived at the bar before my date and started talking to Steve, the bartender. He is nice to look at and a good conversationalist. He kept my glass filled and me occupied until my date showed up. The bar, itself, was a typical North Buffalo bar. Nothing stood out. They have a nice patio, pool table and dart boards. The jukebox is good. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. The beer selection is a little lackluster with your general domestics, no micro brews or local beer here.

This place is not one I would go back to. When I went I had to pay a five dollar cover because«a beautiful lady was dancing on the bar». After I walked in, I found out that this wasn’t true at all. The dance floor was bare and most people were just walking around hammered. I mean, it is truly a neighborhood bar for regulars but if your not a regular then it is probably going to be pretty boring.

This is not a pretty bar … the stool covers are cracked and worn, the decorations are haphazard and the women’s bathroom is disturbing(women like stall doors that close, silly). BUT the charm of this place is that they don’t care! And I mean that in a good way! This bar caters to its neighborhood and its regulars. It is unassuming and unpretentious. Focusing rather on good, friendly service(fun bartender, loved him), good and inexpensive beer(pitchers of top notch beer — I had a pitcher of Magic Hat #9 for $ 6) and a laid back setting to watch a game on their many large televisions. A great spot to sit outside with a drink too. Just grab one of their many plastic lawn chairs and sit down wherever your heart desires. Wide open layout makes for a great place to sit with a large group of friends. So while it may not be pretty, this is a fun bar for a casual night.(can you tell that it’s easy to win me over when you serve good, inexpensive beer with a smile??)

I’ve only been here twice so far since moving to the area but I’m already a fan. The bar has a good neighborhood feel with both outdoor and indoor settings. The bartender seems like he can be your crazy uncle. There are pool and dart boards available. It’s not too small. And let’s get to the best part: the alcohol is cheap! I got 2 beers for $ 6. It is a dive so be prepared…
