Just closed their downtown Main st. location. I really hope they open something downtown again soon. This was really one of the very very few good options for a quick lunch south of the Chip strip. My favorite is the portobello. The soups are also sooooo good. The tomato basil and italian wedding soups are awesome. For some reason it’s impossible to find a good soup place downtown besides Sue’s. So like I said, hopefully they open another spot down here or something similar!

I tried the Globe Market for the first time as part of the Buffalo Bites food four and couldn’t wait to get back. The food is fresh and delicious. I’m stuck on the roast turkey sandwich. Something about the fresh baked bread, sage cheese and cranberry mayo makes my heart melt! Everyone is always so friendly and it’s such a homey feel. I grabbed my sandwich and went back to work but would have loved to sit and relax for a while. I also recommend the daily made soups. I’m not even a soup person but I tried s couple samples and I gotta tell ya they’re the true definition of comfort food!

Great place for soup and sandwiches. Cozy atmosphere. They have gluten free breads and their soups and sandwiches are always great. You’ll always leave feeling full, too.

My friend has been going to The Globe for years now, and she finally encouraged me to come along and try the place she’s been raving about. I have to admit that I have been hesitant to visit this place, because a place known for healthier food catering to a younger crowd tends to be overhyped and too expensive. I couldn’t have been more wrong about this place. I ordered a Ham sandwich on a baguette with spicy mustard, greens and onions. I also got a coke and a side of red, white, and blue tortilla chips. The ham was juicy and delicious, the greens were fresh and the mustard was the spiciest mustard I have ever tasted. The baguette had a crunchy crust and soft interior and was incredibly tasty. At $ 10 for my meal, the price was a little on the high side, but in my opinion it was worth every penny. This was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in my entire life. I am a big fan of Panera Bread, which has recently opened across the street from this place. In this situation, I can’t imagine ever willingly visiting Panera again with this right across the street. Instead of dropping $ 14 on a sandwich and drink at the mainstream imitation, I’d rather support a local business and get a better sandwich all around. It’s worth mentioning that there are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options at this place if that is your thing. My friend tells me that they do veggie dishes right and are worth making the trip for. I dig it!

Not my first time here, but every time it is delicious. Perfect lunch spot with plenty of cold sandwiches, panini’s and cold salads.

Globe Market is the perfect place to stop for lunch. There are 3 locations, but the elmwood one is my favorite. They offer freshly made artisan breads which they bake daily for their sandwiches, local cheeses, gourmet gift baskets, salads, and homemade soups. I come here frequently because they have excellent vegetarian options. I’m not vegan or gluten free but I saw that they also offer choices for those who are. On a nice day their patio is perfect.

Globe Market is the only thing standing between me and malnutrition — I basically buy a large container of soup every other day, two delicious meals of soup for 8.69? Hell yes. The soups are mostly all excellent and best of all homemade without having to go through the fuss of making it yourself. Perpetual favorites include Potato Leek, Cockaleekie and Swedish Meatball. There have been a small handful that I prefer not to eat but its only out of my own idiosyncrasies. Sandwiches are delicious and made on fresh bread with high quality ingredients. There is also a prepared food case with a wide variety of rotating salads and sides. The pork buns and beef and mushroom pies are particularly amazing.

Simply put: I just love the Globe Market. While it’s a tad expensive, everything else about the place is great! It’s my go-to quick lunch spot. I like to support local businesses and their food is much better than the chained Panera across the street. I usually go with one of their soups and the chipotle turkey sandwich under the pick two, ½ sandwich and soup deal. All of their soups are great – I’ve never disliked any of them. The hot and sweet pork, apple butternut squash, and tomato orzo are always great. The last time I went with some friends, the man working the cash register was super friendly and when we left he asked us how our meal was. It was a nice touch!

Thanks to American Express I checked out Globe Market(finally) for lunch. I got a buffalo chicken wrap and bowl of tortellini soup. It was good. I totally did not expect to like the simple bowl of soup and wrap so much. The flavours were just right and overall seemed fresh enough. The prices though seemed a bit high for being in Buffalo, but then maybe its because it’s located in the middle of the most populated part of Elmwood. I’d go here more often but not if I had to pay full price which I didn’t because of the recent promotions. None the less, it seemed to be a great little place to have a bite to eat if family is visiting and you want to run out and grab take out. The seating is VERY limited when it’s busy. Good luck!

We had Globe cater a fun wedding reception/party, and they did a phenomenal job. The came in, set up a tremendous buffet, and carefully maintained it thereafter. We had small sandwiches with excellent bread, awesome salads, mac and cheese, and a dessert plate that was ridiculously good. Our guests repeatedly told us the food was awesome and demanded to know the caterer. We decided on them after having lunch on Elmwood Ave a couple of times. Great choice!

I like this place. The food is consistently good. Quality always appears to be fresh. There are healthy options and some feel good favorites, like Mac and cheese and fried chicken. The house salad is killer. However, today, someone in the kitchen was blasting Phish while the speakers in the front of the house were playing Boyz II Men. It was quite possibly the worst combination of music I have ever heard and it made me a very irritable dining companion. WTF. Choose one song or at least one genre… My ears wanted to throw up.

I think the location is precious, set back on Elmwood, seating outdoors, so quaint and lovely. The customer service was very kind and welcoming, I had at least four faces smiling at me as I walked in. I came here for one reason and one reason only and that was for some chicken soup to ease my horrible symptoms associated with this cold I’ve got going on. They change their soups regularly, so you must call to find out what they are or wing it and find out when you arrive. I got a bowl of chicken soup and a hot tea. They have Harney and Sons tea. While I think that’s an excellent choice, I was underwhelmed by the variety offered. I needed some good old cold curing chamomile and they didn’t have any. Peppermint, berry, sweet cinnamon spice, green tea and early grey. I went with Peppermint and it was tasty but the mug for the tea was way too small. Also, the first cup that was served to me had dust particles floating at the top, eek! The soup was served with a piece of white bread and with the tea the total came to $ 7. There are few things I enjoy more than posting up some place for hours on end while I eat some yummy food, sip on a delicious drink and get work done. However, in order to get work done, I need my laptop and in order to use my laptop for more than an hour, I need an electric outlet and I could not find one here, it was very sad. I took a seat anyway because I had just ordered soup and figured I had about 30 minutes of battery left. I took a seat along the wall. There’s a bar height table area in the back right of the market. It’s an odd place because the people who choose to sit there are directly over the shoulder of anyone seated at the tables in front of them. No secrets there, if you’re typing something private, they’re reading it. The soup surprised me. I thought for sure it was going to be loaded with salt but it was actually perfect. Not overly seasoned at all, just enough chicken and noodles and really tasty. The portion was small but it hit the spot for lunch. The sandwiches looked really appealing but the baked goods, not so much. The ones that were being advertised in the window looked like they had seen better days. Didn’t try one though, so I could be completely wrong. This place would be SO much better if there were outlets available for people who wanted to sit and get work done.

Glove Market is a tucked away oasis in the heart of Elmwood Village. The storefront is far back from the street, so it’s fairly easy to miss on your first visit. A well-landscaped seating area works as a buffer between the market and the street, resulting in a sense of seclusion and security. The food quality is consistently excellent. Earth-happy proteins, veggies, and desserts sit prettily behind glass. Prices are okay; they’re a little steep for a quick lunch, but they’re reasonable for the quality of the product. WiFi is pretty terrible. Even though they have free internet access, it kicks in and out and is especially spotty on the patio. I would enjoy lounging at Globe longer if the WiFi was as consistent as the food product. Service is also just okay. Most employees that I’ve interacted with have fallen dead center on the«miserable to enthused» service scale, but interactions with them are fairly limited. Free flavored water is available inside the market, which has a cozy, eclectic vibe. The set-up allows personal conversation to flow amidst a low rumble of voices from other tables, promoting a sense of privacy and community connection. Overall, Globe is definitely worth repeat visits, but I wouldn’t recommend on counting too strongly on their WiFi to get work done.

Great idea in theory, but falls a bit flat on execution. I’ve been here twice, both times really excited as soon as I walked in the door and looked at the menu and tantalizing prepared foods… but then felt slightly deflated by the price and service at the end of it all. The café is quite charming inside and would be a nice place to enjoy a bowl of soup in the winter and do some work. There’s also a nice outdoor area in the summertime with umbrellas and tables, so that you can take in the luxe hippie vibe of Elmwood as you chomp on your $ 10 sandwich and $ 5 side of potato salad. Both times I’ve been, the staff have been unorganized in terms of cashier/food preparer/food server roles. Seemed like everyone was doing everything at once but nothing was very streamlined. The mozarella/basil/tomato caprese sandwich was delicious the first time around, and on my most recent visit I had some tasty spicy black bean soup and the house salad. Both were served with generous hunks of bread(if you’re trying to be low-carb, request that they don’t send these out with your dishes to tempt you!). The food is quite good, but I can’t bring myself to give the place 4 or 5 stars because of the price and service.

I love this place, even though there are times its fare is uneven. To me, one of the hallmarks of a great restaurant is consistency. I am a huge fan of their Ahi Tuna wrap. They use sushi grade, just seared, tuna in a whole wheat wrap with wasabi cream, Asian red cabbage slaw, and a few greens. I swap out the wasabi cream for some balsamic vinaigrette on the side, and have it grilled in the panini press for a minute or two, just to take the chill off the tuna. It’s one of the best sandwiches in Buffalo. I also like their side dishes of veggies. The soups and salads are very good, with creative options. The staff is usually flexible and happy to make a salad however you want it. It’s a fun place that tons of people love, so the food is fresh.

Great if you’re looking for a homey café with food that appears on the surface«healthy». Not so good if you’re budget-conscious. Globe Market has some sandwiches and usually have at least one vegan soup each day. They also have various preserves and gifts so it’s almost like a little foodie gift shop and café all in one. Sandwiches are $ 8 – 10 and soups are $ 5. They have a half soup/half sandwich combo, but it’s not available for their steak burrito. My most recent experience was getting a steak burrito and some«chicken phở» soup to go. To make the burrito, they took the steak meat and microwaved it to warm it up. I expect microwaves from Subway and such, but not from a little café like this. I understand they are trying to be speedy, but as Globe Market is often touted as a health-conscious choice for lunch or dinner, I think this café falls short of this perception. While the prices are reflective of higher-end healthy food, the reality is that I’m unsure of how much of their vegetables /meat are sourced from local farms or whether they try to have organic veggies for those ingredients that are high in pesticide content in their non-organic(the dirty dozen) form(red peppers, celery, spinach, etc). They do earn stars for their fantastic homey environment — perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee, people watching or reading a book. Also for having a parking lot in the EV area. The food is also pretty good, although the steak sandwich and chicken phở soup mostly had flavors of heat and while I like spice, I don’t generally like it to be very overpowering. Their«chicken phở» is more of a glorified chicken noodle soup, but still tasty. When I eat here, I don’t often find myself getting my $$‘s worth, which is ultimately why it’s A-OK.

Globe is the perfect lunch spot. If it is a hot summer day you can get a great sandwich and salad combo and for the cold winter days the sandwich and soup combo hits the spot. Their plethora of daily soup options and signature sandwiches makes Globe an every-day option. Their hot sandwiches, wraps, and salads are also really good. I would recommend specifics but I’ve had almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Go wild n crazy, put on a blindfold and pick anything at random and you’ll be happy with what you eat. Another cool thing about Globe is that wherever you’re hanging out in the city you will be able to enjoy a fresh made meal as they also have locations in downtown and on Hertel Ave in North Buffalo.

I’m usually quite satisfied and happy with my experiences at Globe Market. The food is always well made and well put together, fresh ingredients, a good local model, and a relaxed atmosphere for easy digestion. Though sometimes I actually haven’t liked what I ordered, it’s because I was being experimental and it didn’t work out for me. Alas, you can be experimental here with good stuff. I’d recommend the Get 2 offer — pick two out of a soup, ½ sandwich, ½ salad. Their soups are great and they have a Vegan one most of the time, if not all the time. The grilled bree and apple sandwich is amazing. And, frankly, I want a bucket filled with the spinach/strawberry/goatcheese/walnut salad. I had it just recently as my whole lunch and it’s so good — their homemade dressing is also superb on it! So, check them out — they have a great patio space, wonderful food, and really refreshing décor. Rockin!

I ordered catering from Globe and they were wonderful about accommodating us on less than 24 hour notice. Their menu is so interesting and creative, it was hard to pick out what to get for a small group. Delivery starts at $ 5 and depends on distance and minimum purchase of $ 50. I had the hummus wrap which comes with baked tofu. It was excellent. A hummus wrap on it’s own can be kind of uninspired, even if everything in it is good, but the tofu really put it over the top; it was blackened and everything. They also appear to have a vegan soup every day. The food in the case looked great — Korean BBQ and pork buns in addition to many salads and dessert. The strawberry shortcakes looked beautiful. I don’t eat any of that stuff, but I appreciate it when I see it. This is a great place all around. Interesting products for sale, great food to eat and really nice about letting folks hang posters.
