The breakfast sandwiches are the best in town… When they get the order right(about 75% of the time)

Ordered a chicken souvlaki salad like I do once or twice a week, received a salad with chicken that tasted like straight up fish. Dragged my hangry rear end back to complain — manager was nice enough and remade the salad after giving me kind of an annoyingly hard time at first like he didn’t believe me that their chicken could possibly be rancid. There is NO explanation for fishy tasting chicken except for poor food handling, it was rancid. Against my better judgement(remember, hangry) I accepted the remade one. Didn’t taste like fish this time but most of the chicken pieces had a distinct off smell that wasn’t the seasonings on it, a smell chicken shouldn’t have — which isn’t a shock after looking at their Health Inspection report. I didn’t end up eating the second salad beyond a few bites because going to bed hungry was a more attractive option than food poisoning.

This is such a great market! I moved into an apartment just across the street and am so thankful this market is an option for all of my day-to-day essentials(AND for when I feel like splurging!) Whether I need to go on a quick beer run or pick up some ice, all I have to do is run across the street… Even if I had a further distance to this incredible market, it would be worth it. They have great fish frys on Fridays and a variety of subs, lunch meat, baked goods, dairy products, etc. every other day of the week. Want some ice cream? They have it! Want a root beer float? They have those, too!!! Such a great variety of speciality coffees, smoothies, etc. all for a reasonable price. I needed peroxide before I even knew I needed it and was able to just sprint across the street and guess what, they had some behind the counter… Excellent!!! Both perishables and non perishables are available here. Overall, if there’s something you need or want, chances are high that The Elmwood Market will have just what you’re looking for. Rumor has it they even have Not Your Fathers Root Beer on occasion!!! Prices are fair, convenience and service are high!

I was really impressed with the Elmwood Market. We were strolling around on a Saturday morning and in the mood for an egg sandwich but the long line at Ashker’s wasn’t fitting into our schedule for the day. We saw a sign outside the Elmwood Market indicating they had egg sandwiches and for a really reasonable price. In we went. The place is spotless, very clean, very new. They put their egg sandwiches on a roll and are around $ 3 – 4, depending on what additions you choose, like hash browns for a buck, but get this, buy one egg sandwich and you get the second for only $ 1 buck! They aren’t the fastest when making sandwiches. We found ourselves waiting quite some time to place an order and it was clear where to stand to place that order. There was a group of about 6 people waiting to order sandwiches, kind of standing in a cluster looking at each other wondering where to stand to place the orders. Their coffee, although I did not try it, is very cheap, $ 2 for a large. They have loads of salad options, cold and hot subs and sandwiches all around $ 7 – 8. It’s nice being able to order a salad with meat and not having an upcharge making your order over ten bucks. Their bakery items looked decent; apple turnovers, blueberry strudel, almond joy truffles, cookies and cream cupcakes, strawberry shortcake, chocolate banana bars, butterscotch bars and more. They have general market items like over priced canned soups, kleenex, paper towels, tin foil, solo cups, etc. I wish they had the prices of each item on the shelf, instead they have stickers on the product. Sometimes the stickers are behind the item or underneath so you have to lift everything up and play find the price. They have a lot of items that 7-eleven and the Co-op don’t, so I would definitely venture down here from time to time!

For fans of the original Elmwood Market down the street a mile, you will love this location even more! I’ve been a huge supporter of Elmwood Market over the past year or so, and this location is by far my favorite. The employees are super nice, they have an ice cream menu, and they feature all the good things about the original but offer some other alternatives like daily specials and their own coffee(not Timmy Hos) Food is still on point and their grocery section is stocked and convenient. I visit here about once a week and I have not once had a bad experience.

Finally! This is exactly what the neighborhood needed! What a great little place. Since Wilson Farms closed, the neighborhood lacked a place to grab main-line groceries. The co-op is great, but sometimes they just don’t have«normal» food… well, worry no longer! The Elmwood market has a full-service deli(that features sandwiches and take-away), as well as a full bakery case, hard and soft ice-cream and a hot bar AND a salad bar. It’s a real New York deli, and it is fresh, clean, and fairly priced! Bravo and welcome to the neighborhood!

I’m obsessed. At first I didn’t understand why we needed an Elmwood Market in this location when we already have We Never Close a block away. However, upon walking in, it became very obvious that this store is a horse of a different color… They have everything! A range of spices, carbonated waters, bakery fresh desserts(YUM, btw), sandwiches, and more. This is a major asset to the area. I have already visited to pick up ingredients to throw together dinner a few times in the short time that they’ve been open. Really, really nice!

I’m very excited the elmwood market decided to open a second location! This location is smaller but still offers the same selection minus the Tim Hortons Coffee Shop — However, they upgraded to an espresso machine which makes me happy. The shelves are still being stocked with non perishable grocery items as well as some fresh local items in the back(just in case you don’t want to run to wegmans for eggs or cheese). The deli is impressive with many options to choose from. Just beware that if you are not a meat eater this place is not for you… your only option is a veggie wrap.

This is an upscale convenience market. Used to be a bank location. Now it has Dolce bakery items, fresh made salads and sandwiches, all sorts of chips, Pepsi and all sorts of more«exotic sodas». I visited on day 2 of being open and the staff are all friendly, but they are learning the ropes as well still. They also sell cigarettes should you find yourself in need. Street parking. They take all credit cards. There is an ATM outside as well.
