House of Lo

I love house of lo! Best Chinese food around! I’ve been to many places and this tops them all!

I was surprised to see that this place had no reviews on Unilocal,as it’s been here for a long time. It’s a small location in downtown Buffalo and seems to be family run (closing at 7pm is a bit of a clue there!) It has one of the smallest menus I’ve seen in a Chinese restaurant, though all of the usual suspects are listed.
We ate on a Wednesday night at about 6pm, and the dining room was about ¹⁄₃ full, with a steady stream of people coming in for take out. We had egg rolls for an appetizer (a little mundane, and with a «fried chicken» kind of outside, not typical,) my girlfriend had the Cashew Chicken (not on the menu, but written on a sign by the door) and I had Chicken, Bacon and Onion Fried Rice. She said that the Cashew Chicken was one of the best she’s had, while my Fried Rice was a bit on the mediocre side, taste wise, until I jazzed it up with some Sriracha sauce. It was also greasier than I expect in fried rice, but not intolerable. Next time, I’ll order something else.
All told, a good experience and the best of three Chinese restaurants we’ve been to recently (the other two being in Delano.)
