Great fresh food but be prepared to wait. The food is Tex mex and very fresh. The only problem is that it takes forever to get through the line. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. I will stop at this truck again!

So I had lloyd for the first time today. I ordered their nachos. It was OK it’s mixed white meat and dark meat chicken, they put some kind of crème fraîche on their tacos I’m sorry nachos, and I’m not a big fan of it. It kind of taste so strange with all the other flavors. The workers at the truck were very very friendly though. But I think Llyods is a little bit overrated.

So disappointed in the 2– 4 inch tacos we had at the truck. Terrible. We will pass on that.

I have been wanting to try the pork nachos for some time now and finally got my chance today. They were delicious. The meat was pull-apart-perfect! They put just enough cheese on them without it being overbearing. I love the fresh cilantro, and could have used more(next time I will ask). The dish was just spicy enough to make it enjoyable. If you want extra heat, the side of jalepenos they give you will do the trick. Next time I will have a wrap and try something different. I love the idea that there are several options to build your own, as well as daily chef specials. My friend is vegan and had some tacos. I’m not sure she was overly excited with the results, but perhaps her taste buds are numb by the disgusting mighty taco she keeps eating. To each their own I guess… I will take Lloyds any day!!!

Gotta love Lloyd Tacos! I normally have the grace of Lloyd Taco Trucks in my life on Friday’s when they are at Aspire of WNY. Generally, the employees are friendly and attentive. Over the course of the past year, there was only one time I was disappointed. I contacted management and they handled the situation very well! The food — it is delicious! The specials are creative and fun and it makes the experience a little different every week. If you get a chance to order from one of the Lloyd trucks, don’t pass it by!!!

I looooove chicken burritos. I always get them(unless a rice bowl/veggie bowl is available) because I like how the chicken tastes with all the veggies and some guac. Woah baby. Being in Buffalo, I feel like I should enjoy Lloyd’s, but I really don’t. The kimchi makes the taste a little interesting, but ultimately, as Lindsay suggests in her first paragraph, it’s a bit lacking. I don’t taste an array of fresh veggies, everything is kind of dry and not well-mixed, and it could be a lot more fresh. Basically it’s rice, beans, kimchi, wrap. I don’t see vegetables, I don’t see sauce. It’s kind of boring, actually. Without water, it also hurts going down. Be careful. Lucky for me, most of the time I’m eating Lloyd’s I’m drinking, so it generally tastes okay. I’ll say three stars for the person making my burrito and for the interesting spin on kimchi. For me, these bits aren’t enough to make me a huge fan. If it’s available, sure, I’ll have it. But I’m not going to be an active seeker of Lloyd’s. It just doesn’t do it for me. I’ll have to update again if they ever decide to change the mix-up of their ingredients. Until then, this is simply an A-OK place for me.

Tricked out nachos with extra beef. All the time. Every single time. You’re welcome. Oh you’re still here? Need more convincing? Okay, it’s basically a huge portion of fresh tortilla chips smothered in creamy crema/signature rocket sauce, layered with juicy shreds of meaty goodness, topped with perfectly-pickled onions, jalapeños, and cilantro. Prior to this, the only«Mexican» food I’ve ever had was chipotle … Shame on me! I always only ordered the chipotle bowl so I was a bit bummed out when I saw the menu for llyods taco truck. I’m assuming their equivalent would be the el camino. I saw someone in front of me order that and I thought it was a bit tiny for my huge appetite at the moment. So I went for the burrito and a taco ! I did it. My first burrito and taco was from here. I LOVED every single bit of everything. They use different ingredients, which stands above the rest. I like that the tortillas are locally made and that their sauces are home made. It absolutely makes the difference. Their hot sauce is a must. Their meats are all so flavorful. All together, it’s amazing. On Top of that, the burrito is HUGE. I almost couldn’t eat for the rest of the day when I consumed it at 12 pm. The only thing I wouldn’t order very often would be the tricked out nachos. I don’t like my nachos soggy. But with that aside, this dish is very tasty.

Lloyd, I finally caught up to you! With our crazy roaming fees, it’s sorta difficult as a Canadian to get around the city without the use of data, therefore it’s been an unsuccessful task to find your truck. However, on a stop to the Albright-Knox, I spotted you! I was absolutely starving, so I picked up the Pulled Pork + Chicken, my friend got the Braised Beef & Pork Tacos. They were $ 2.59ea and smallish, but oh so satisfying! I think I would’ve been good for at least a coupla more hours on those 2 tacos as they also didn’t skimp on the meat. Shredded meats were much, much better than the cubed chicken. Tacos came in a convenient box that helped with the mess if you’re eating on-the-go! Would try it out again… if I can find them next time OR stop by their brick ‘n mortar.

Probably my first 5 star review on Unilocal ! I just moved from Buffalo to San Diego and I can totally vouch that Lloyds is the best Mexican food in the country !! San Diego is considered the mecca of Mexican cuisine, but my personal favorite is still LLyods !! Everything is so delicious and flavorful !! And omg the pickled onions are to die for !! The portions are great and you can either get tacos, bowls or burritos. Oh and how can I forget the most yummiclious nachos. I hear they have opened a restaurant now. Cannot wait to try it when I visit Buffalo !

Lloyd, I want to love you. It’s true. My favorite thing on the menu is the el camino – the equivalent of a burrito bowl. The black bean version of this is great. Their cabbage, picked onions, and chimi sauce(cilantro lime) are unique and delicious. I like the convenience of Lloyd food truck locations and even the ease of their catering service. What I don’t like is the inconsistency. I feel like I never know what I’m going to get. By that, I mean what you would expect: that proportions are off depending on when and where you order from. But also, and more importantly, Lloyd gets orders wrong a lot. This is a big deal for someone who doesn’t eat meat or cheese. When finely grated white cheese is sandwiched between some rice and beans, I sometimes won’t notice it until I take a bite. It’s also tough to remedy when you grab food from a truck on the way home and don’t notice the mistake until you get where you’re going. This wouldn’t be an issue but it happens probably 1 out of every 3 times that I get food from Lloyd. Additionally, Lloyd employees are inconsistent with the information that they give out about the food that they serve. For instance, «What type of fat are the corn taco tortillas fried in?» No one knew that one for a while(by no one, I mean employees or those who run the Lloyd Facebook page). I heard everything from duck fat to pig fat to canola oil. Being vegan, I don’t expect people to make crazy exceptions for me – I expect those selling food to the public to tell me what I’m about to consume so that I can make a choice about whether or not it’s something I feel comfortable eating. At this point, it’s more clear that you must ask for the shells to be put in canola oil or else they are NOT vegan/vegetarian. Unfortunately, people incorrectly informed me about this a number of times, and I’m really not pleased with that. It makes me uncomfortable that Lloyd is lax about dietary restrictions or allergies. Knowing what you’re about to eat is important to people, so get it together. That said, when done right, Lloyd is delicious and convenient. I hope that with the new restaurant comes more consistency.

so after me and my fiancé went to walmart to return something which was a complete disaster we decided to grab some loyds since I have never eaten there and i have heard such good things about these guys. So we went when they were in front of target on walden near the mall and their was no one in line so we though awesome timing unfortunately it was a mess outside(cold and raining) so that was unfortunate. I ordered the burrito with pulled pork and extra mild sauce and sour cream. This was a very Different version that what I am accustomed to instead of lettuce it seemed to have cole slaw and the mild sauce was more tangy in my opinion which is not what I had in mind. the Burrito itself not bad the part i was sort of un happy about was that I asked for extra mild and extra sour cream well it zero sour cream and it was very dry so I can imagine that it did Not have much mild salsa on it, even though the person taking my order read it back to me that, that was what i was asking for. Honestly I do think I would buy from them again but i don’t think i would order the burrito… to me it just wasn’t what I would imagine a burrito would be. Saying that I do believe its worth trying so i recommend if you have not eaten here yet to give them a try. So you can at least say that you have. they are getting quite famous in the buffalo region. Sorry if it was hard to follow I am not a good texter.

I’m going to be honest. I am absolutely in love with Lloyd. From their packed el camino’s to their loaded nachos, and INCREDIBLE tacos, Lloyd Taco Truck doesn’t have anything bad on the menu. With tons of weekly specials and seasonal sides, I’m always happy with my order. Lloyd’s is easy to follow on Twitter, Facebook and their website and there is usually a truck within ten or fifteen minutes of your location. El Camino: Think Chipotle burrito bowl but much better. Loaded with rice, cheese, cilantro, beans, cabbage, pickled onions and the protein and sauce of your liking. I personally find the medium just a little too spicy so I ask for a mild-medium mix. I usually opt for pulled pork or chicken. The El Camino is my go-to order at Lloyd’s for sure! Tacos: Oh my Lloyd do I love these tacos. Small tortillas are loaded with your choice of protein, jack cheddar cheese, shredded cabbage, chimi sauce, roja sauce, cilantro and a lime wedge. I’d be lying if I said I knew exactly what chimi and roja sauce was, but let me tell you — they’re delicious. Burritos: I never get burritos from Lloyd’s — to many, this is sacrilege. I just happen to enjoy the tacos, caminos and loaded nachos more. Your standard burrito(like their tacos) are available in black bean, chicken, steak, pulled pork, or the special. I’ll get more to the specials in a minute. Expect meat, rice and beans, jack cheddar cheese, shredded cabbage, chimi sauce, and roja sauce. Nomz. Loaded Nachos: I’ve never had a nacho platter I enjoyed more than the Lloyd’s Tricked Out Nachos. A stunning spread of chips served with homemade queso, roja sauce, sour cream, jalapeños, and pickled red onions. Throw on chicken, pork, steak, beans WHATEVER and you have a beautiful display of cheesy goodness. I don’t love their regular nachos, always trick them out. It’s worth it. Specials: This is where Lloyd gets really good. The Big Lloyd tastes like a Big Mac but better, the Crispy Fish is everything I want and more. The Skinny Thai boasts tofu and peanut sauce while the Al Pastor offers pork and grilled pineapple. All the above are worth a try. Sides: Soutwestern Potatoes, Queso Mac and Cheese, Rocket Wings. I think the names of these sound delicious enough for you to try without my narrative, but really get the mac and cheese. Again, if you haven’t noticed, I’m obsessed. When people say they don’t understand the hype, I am usually the one who judges whatever is wrong with their taste buds. Go forth and frolic Unilocalland with tacos galore and explore what Lloyd’s has to offer.

We have finally been able to get food from this place. Getting it under the wire is an understatement: the last Tuesday night of the season at the Food Trucks at Larkin Square event. A cold, chilly evening with a long line(about 30 minutes wait) would discourage some people, but not us and the others in line. As others have said, the food is outstanding. The beef taco has a lot of flavor and beats anything I have had elsewhere. Definitely a place to track down and have a meal from.

I will never understand all the hype people have over lloyds. To me it is an «okay» taco truck. I have never been a huge fan nor will i ever be a huge fan. Every time i receive my food its cold and flavorless. The only thing i like on the menu is a special they have called the«skinny Thai» with Tofu and this amazing peanut sauce. I also tried nachos for the first time today and those i enjoyed as well, they had chicken, cheese and sour cream on them with a salsa of some sort. I have tried other specials as well and i’m just never impressed.

The most innovative and fresh take on tacos and mexican food I’ve had so far. There are times when I literally go hunt this truck down. Sometimes multiple times a day. There is nothing I say that is different than what already has been said about this gem. This thing is a gift to Buffalo. I’ve pretty much tried the entire menu — tacos, el camino, burritos, tricked out nachos and everything is super tasty. Their specials are also great! Honestly, I’m out of words for this review so if you are reading mine, take my word and go hunt it down. You won’t regret it!

Llyod, you never fail, ever. Let me just say how lucky I am you’re on the Buffalo State campus daily, makes my lunch break 100% better. I recommend their tacos, I like mine medium or hot. The regular nachos aren’t that bad either, good amount of food for a good price. It is a food truck though so it shouldn’t be too pricy.

Let me just say, although this comment makes me fear for my life, I don’t get the«Lloyd’s» hype. Everyone dies for this food truck, and I’m not exactly sure what memo I’m missing. The menu, in my opinion, is weird and I don’t understand who wants to stand outside in their super long line for a taco and a Mexican pop. I do have to say, they have a taco they sometimes use as their«special» called the Big Lloyd(or something to that effect) and it’s their taco-play on a Big Mac. THAT is worth the wait, given that they’re running it as their special that night. With the large following they have in Buffalo, they clearly are doing something right… it’s just not my cup of tea.

I enjoyed my burrito from Lloyd’s, but not enough to have any standout memories. They were parked in the Advantage Plaza on Main St. in Williamsville and I got there right after they opened so there was only one customer ahead of me. Easy breezy. Then they accidentally made an extra order of corn, and the customer(who already had some) got it. This made me a little bitter and might(definitely) skewed my review. Sorry Lloyd! I really wished I got to try that corn… 5 stars had I gotten free corn. 4 on its own. I love the food truck movement that has blossomed in Buffalo and hope to see many more!

Stopped by the truck for the first time in awhile today. To be honest, the burrito as a whole wasn’t that special. What was special was the pork that was in the burrito. Out of this world. Next time I will find a way to get less burrito and more pork. I wish that when they made the burrito there was someway to better distribute the ingredients. I ended up with one side completely full of cabbage and not blended with the other ingredients.

Update: Paquillo Pepper Pasta Salad is a great new addition to any meal. It’s cool and refreshing. Perfect for a hot summer night. Again, anything pork is gold. My suggestion — two. Pork tacos, medium or hot, and if they have extra avocado cream from a special do yourself a favor and add it to your vessel. You’re welcome.

I spent a few years living in LA and absorbed the taco truck culture like water to a sponge. I loved those tacos. Nothing in WNY has ever come close to satisfying my need for those flavors. Most Buffalonians think of tacos as ground beef tossed into an over sized tortilla with some haphazardly dumped lettuce and cheese. It’s really sad to say that they actually enjoy this. Lloyd’s has been getting some buzz around town, in the paper, etc, for awhile. They are apparently responsible for getting the Buffalo food truck movement started. This has given their food a lot of hype, but is it really as good as people say? I’ve now tried 3 of their trucks on different occasions, and these are my final words on the subject. The staff working the register and service area have been funny, friendly, and engaging. They are willing to take the time to explain the concept to you, and they ask you questions while you order. You’ll know exactly what you’ll be eating! I felt comfortable and accepted, two very important things when visiting a restaurant — even one on wheels. Plus that one girl with the septum piercing is really cute — and hey, I think she remembered me? The tacos and burritos come with your choice of filler(pork, chicken, beef, beans). Tacos are filled inside two small tortillas. This makes them about 3 – 5 bites, on average. Burritos are stuffed into large tortillas, they cost twice as much as tacos and seem to have about 3x as much filling. Taco tortillas are slightly browned(on a flat grill I’m assuming) and the contents piled neatly inside. All food is served in «to-go» type containers so you can eat it neatly while standing or take it home to enjoy it without much of a hassle. Besides these two items(and meat choices) they offer things like nachos(with homemade queso), Mexican coke(with real sugar) and Jarritos(flavored pop). I’ve tried everything and can honestly say the beef is the best of the meats. It has some nice flavor that really comes out in a burrito with hot sauce. The pork is a thick pile of pulled meat but isn’t as tasty, flavor-wise, as the beef. The chicken just seemed a bit bland for my liking. The problem I have with the meats is not how they are flavored, per-say, but that they are always served luke-warm. It seems that in an effort to meet their growing demand that they prepare all meats ahead of time and simply pull them out of a «warming» container. It is such a let down to be served a taco that has the warmth of something left out on your counter top for 45 minutes. If they aren’t going to cook-to-order, then at least warm the meat up on the flat grill and sauce it before plating it. Seems so simple, right? They offer specials each week and it is here that the food starts to get better. The Carne Asada actually had some West Coast flavors, although they didn’t nail it, it was good. The Big Lloyd is basically a deconstructed burger, complete with ground beef and a pickle. It was an interesting concept and I found it enjoyable. The Skinny Thai is deep fried Tofu topped with peanut sauce. It was pretty good as well. The fish taco was a let down. I remember that most fish tacos in Cali were served deep fried, but to be honest the best I ever had were grilled. Grilled fish with a spicy sauce and some cabbage beats a fried fish taco any day! I’ve also seen corn and wings on the specials menu, but didn’t get to try them. I was really happy to see that they served Jarritos«soda»(Yeah — I say Pop). I haven’t had Jarritos since the West Coast, what a treat that was. I wish they stocked the strawberry flavor. It is by far my favorite… Hey Lloyd, are you listening? Would a pretty please help? I’m giving them 3 stars with good and bad points. Here are the good points: the service was amazing. The staff was incredible and they made me feel welcome. The specials are pretty good and so far I’ve enjoyed almost all of them. They are mobile and have 4(?) trucks, so you can usually find one near you. They have Jarritos! The burritos are huge, really you could get two small-ish meals out of 1 or a giant lunch. They accept credit cards and cash! They will give you everything you need(bags, napkins, etc) so you can take your food home. Here are the bad points: the meats are served luke-warm(just above room temperature). The pork is really dense and not that flavorful. The chicken was bland, a bit of a let down for me(huge fan of poultry). The tacos are traditional«street tacos», which are really small by WNY standards. I was eating $ 1 street tacos in LA that were cooked-to-order and left a lasting memory. Lloyd’s just seems over priced and not well prepared by comparison. Final word? Buy what you like, take it home, reheat it in the toaster oven on about 300 degrees. Ahhh… maybe this is how it should have tasted from the truck? Kogi BBQ this ain’t, but at least they are trying!

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, you’re looking in the wrong place. Lloyd’s dishes are their take on tacos, burritos, and the like. The authenticity isn’t there, but the flavors definitely are. I would much rather get food from here than Chipotle. I’m constantly looking forward to spotting that bright green truck whether it’s at its semi-permanent position of Boulevard Mall’s parking lot or if it’s at a different location. They offer three proteins and a vegetable alternative in the form of grilled chicken, braised beef, roasted pork, and stewed black beans. On certain days, they offer special proteins such as fish, carne asada, or kahlua pork. They may also offer interesting dishes such as their garlic butter covered Krazy Korn. My usual order consists of two burritos with all the fixings. A typical bill for me is roughly $ 15 – 30 cause I tend to order the daily specials too. That’s just how good the food is in my opinion. If you are ever in the Buffalo area, look for the four bright green trucks. You can track their locations on Twitter!

I am in love with Lloyd and I am not ashamed to admit it. The best thing that could ever happen was having them open a truck specifically for Buffalo State campus.(It could also be the worst, depends if you’re asking my stomach or my wallet). I have tried many things from Lloyd, including, but not limited to, the tricked out nachos(with either pork or beef), the pork burritos, the corn on the cob special they had running for a while, regular nachos, pork tacos, and several specialty burritos/items(all depends on my mood at the time I am placing my order). Note: they do have cabbage on the tacos and burritos, and although I despise cabbage at any other time, it really works with the food here! I could eat Lloyd for lunch or dinner or a late night snack, and sometimes I have journeyed out in my pajamas at midnight on a Saturday, because I know they have late night service on both Elmwood and Allen. The lines for Lloyd are usually a decent size(if you go to Larkin Square on Food Truck Tuesday, the line is a nightmare; go to another location if Lloyd is all you want!), but the food is worth the wait. The employees are always friendly and helpful, and they take your order and move you along in a timely and polite manner. I always find it fun to read the Lloyd facts while I am waiting for my order to be ready(the facts are written on a dry erase board, are always funny and absurd, and clearly not actual facts). I am aiming to try the Lloyd brunch at Buffalo Proper, because I have heard nothing but good things. Based on my opinion of their everyday selection, I have no doubt in my mind that I will enjoy anything that I order! If you are going to try any food truck in Buffalo, Lloyd should be it. I cannot wait for their permanent location on Hertel to open!

Where’s Lloyd? In my belly where all finger-licking delicious things belong. I tried the truck at the recent Buffalove fundraiser at the zoo. The insanely long line alone said that I needed to wait, but it would be well worth it. As I stood there patiently, with a sad, empty belly, I caught myself slobbering on my shirt as I heard names called from the truck and watched equally-hungry patrons grab tray after tray of tacos, burritos, and nachos. It was official: I needed one of those tacos. I needed to wolf down some roasted pork, cabbage, jack cheddar cheese, chimi/roja sauces, and cilantro on two corn tortillas… or should I do braised beef? Grilled chicken? If choosing among those three wasn’t difficult enough, you could imagine the horror I felt when I realized that chorizo tacos were on special. What was I going to do when it was my turn to order?! Order them all, because… YOLO. And YOLO I did. I ordered ‘em all. I ate ‘em all. I loved ‘em all. I mean, how could you not love tender, perfectly prepared proteins on the softest corn tortillas with the thinnest, crunchiest cabbage and the most wonderful roasted, garlicky sauces? It was sheer sublimity. I regret nothing, not even the food baby I carried for the rest of the night. Moral of the story: remember that when it comes to choosing tacos from Lloyd, YOLO.

Lloyd’s is so wonderful! It is the perfect end to a night out. Everything on the menu is delicious. The employees are very friendly and patient. You can’t go wrong. My favorite menu items are the Tricked Out Nachos and the tacos. The burritos are also good, but absolutely massive. The tacos are smaller corn tortillas filled with delicious meat, veggies and sauces. Although most of my meals at Lloyd’s have been after a night out on Elmwood or Allen, the quality of the food is impressive when I’m sober as well :) They are at Food Truck Tuesday every week. The line is always the longest for Lloyd’s.
