My experience at the Melting Point was a good one. I oredered No. 42 and my daughter ordered No. 38. Both were very tasty, but I liked the No.38 much more than the 42. The spiciness of the roasted poblano pepper made the whole sandwich. We both had a dill pickle and they were definitely homemade. Service was good and the guys were very friendly that were working. I would give 5 stars but i didn’t like that they didn’t have any normal chairs to sit on, just metal stools. I will definitely be going back again to try more sandwiches!

Nommmm, what can I say one of my favorite spots for a quick bite in Buffalo. I bounce around between my top four which are #4, #64(w bacon), #38, and #97. The cookies are bomb too. Would definitely recommend going, even the regular grilled cheese is creamy and delicious with the perfect amount of crisp to the bread. I usually get one on the side. Also, the staff is always super friendly and they play good music. Unilocal no more you found your spot.

Have to update based solely on recent experience(s) where I tried the soup. A companion and I came in and decided to try the two«soups of the day». And a «baby grilled cheese» on the side. The employee working the register was super pleasant. We took awhile and he just was patient. When we finally ordered he made it a point to say the baby grilled cheese is wonder read with a few slices of cheese, he wanted to be sure we understood it was not one identifier more sophisticated grilled cheese options. We got some seats(high stools are all they have) and waited. Our soups were brought out in nice bowls that are easy to eat out of. With real spoons. Yea! The soups were terrific. As in I went back a few days later and got a larger serving to go. We even enjoyed the baby grilled cheese. Now I’m not changing my views on the sophisticated grilled cheese sandwiches, I still think there is too much bread and not enough inside. But I won’t be getting those anymore. I’m sticking with the soup. I continue to wish this place great success. Their expansion is great. I understand im in a minority thinking the grilled cheese are not«all that». But it’s fine. I’ve seen the light — and it’s the soup.

This little gem can be hard to spot(we walked into the place next door initially — Allen street pouting company). There aren’t a lot of seats(about 4 – 6 comfortably or 8 not so comfortably), with about 2 small 2-person tables outside. You order and pay at the counter but they bring the food out to your seats. Everything is made to order so it takes about 5 minutes per sandwich. We ordered a bowl of the homemade tomato basil soup — O.M.G. I could have had a quart of it to myself! And I don’t even like tomato soup! I got no.3 with chicken. It was smoked Gouda, cheddar and Monterey jack(I think), and I added fresh tomatoes and baby spinach and caramelized onions in it as well. I have to say, it was definitely not good for my arteries! The bread was buttered and grilled to crispy perfection and the cheeses were just oozing out of it like they do in commercials. It was crispy, cheesy and greasy — kind of to be expected, but still, I could only eat half of it. I have to admit though — it was probably also because I didn’t like the way the chicken was prepared. It had some kind of spice on it(I think it was thyme) that overpowered the rest of the flavors and I really just didn’t love it. My fiancé ordered no.42 — cheddar and smoked Gouda with thick slices bacon and baby spinach. It was fantastic! I originally wanted to order it but then decided to try no.3 since he was already ordering it. I would definitely order it again when we go back. We also got a pickle to share — did not like it at all. It’s crunchy, but the flavor was really weird and just not our kind of pickle(we love Claussen pickles). All in all, very good first time experience! It’s the complete opposite of healthy but if you’re looking for a made to order cheesy sandwich with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices — this is the spot! I can’t say that we’ll be back anytime soon for health reasons, but we definitely loved it!

Melt in your mouth deliciousness from THEMELTINGPOINT. I decided to check this Allentown storefront out and what a wise decision I made. I went for #97 and am enjoying a corned beef melt that is making me smile away. Dubliner cheddar melted into corned beef with a very nicely done carmelized onion on a potato cheddar chives bread. DELISH! Added their very reasonably priced tomato basil soup since it is a late work day for me … The soup is also a good option. Don’t plan on bringing friends for a sit down meal because the seating is very limited but if you’re in the neighborhood and hungry for a good sandwich here’s a place to visit … I am wondering how many numbers they have?

I had the grilled cheese with the pickled jalapenos and ricotta cheese. It was a great combination and delicious. The soup was also flavorful. A little bit of a tight space and a little chilly inside. I cant wait to see what else they come up with and to try more sandwiches and soups — everyones favorite combo and I love cheese !

The variety of the grilled cheese selection is pretty cool. I’ve had a number of sandwiches here and each combination is different and brings something varied, flavor-wise, to the palate. A few qualms: $ 9−10/sandwich ventures a little bit into the high range for how much one might be willing to spend on a grilled cheese sandwich. Additionally, they adamantly refuse to make any additions to a sandwich, only subtractions. So leave your culinary creativity or gastronomical preferences at the door when you visit. Oh and apparently don’t ask for a side portion of anything, like jalapeños, etc, because apparently they won’t sell it to you either… How dare you attempt to sully or ruin the sandwich by adding said side item to the sandwich on your own… Really strange, I know. Anyways, as long as you’re prepared to not have it your way and just get what’s on the menu you should be good. Enjoy!

First visit, I ordered the special #18 Meatloaf, Gouda with coleslaw, absolutely delicious, full of flavor, I loved it, can’t wait to come back and try something else because Mmmmm CHEESE! The meatloaf was probably the best I’ve ever had, cheese was melted nicely and stringy from mouth to sandwich, the toast was just buttered enough, crispy, so good, I want more! The sandwich was $ 8.99 but worth it! If you love cheese, this place is like cheesey heavenly goodness! Eat and be merry!

Grilled cheese is probably my favorite food because simply I can make it pretty good. But nothing I have ever made has ever tasted as good as what I had today. I got a number 42 and it was to die for! The bacon on the sandwich was so delicious I don’t know what made it so good but the best piece of bacon ever. The cheese was great! It was made perfectly! I cannot wait to come back and try it with the tomato soup. I think I just found my new spot!

Had a great lunch today at Melting Point. We were đelighted with the selection of sandwiches. So many cheeses, so many toppings, so many unique and clever combinations to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful and the service is quick. We topped off our sandwich selections with plopping hot bowls of tomato basil soup. Lunch was fantastic. We’ll be back soon.

After passing up Melting Point for some of the other eateries around Allen for the longest time, I eventually got around to checking this place out on a cold, rainy Buffalo afternoon. Walking into the place with a sniffly nose and a soaked rain coat, I was greeted by a small, warm atmosphere that made me forget all about the dreary weather outside. Three other people were dining besides my friend and I, and it was enough to take up all the seats in the place, save for two. I hadn’t expected it to be that small in there, but it wasn’t too bad. Above our heads was the full menu(it’s so high up, how the heck do they change that thing?) and to the side of the counter offered specials and the day’s soups. I’m all for trying food combinations that don’t always seem like they would go together. Naturally I ordered the #28, which had the Granny Smith Apple and caramelized onions, along with the classic cup of tomato soup. I’ll tell you all what I told the two guys working there that day: it was the best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread they use is pretty large, and they have a wonderful variety of different and interesting sandwiches which make for a unique and flavorful experience each time. Even the soup was delicious, and unlike anything I’ve had before. This is the sort of place that makes me wish I could eat a super big meal, so that I could order an extra sandwich to try. I also wish I lived closer to Allen so that I could eat here all the time. Melting Point is definitely worth checking out, I think more so than the other restaurants in the area. My only regret is not checking this place out sooner.

Great grilled cheese sandwiches! So far have tried the No. 28(brie, Gouda, and cheddar w granny smith apple, caramelized onions, and drizzle honey), No. 4(fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil pesto, balsamic glaze), No. 50(ricotta, candied bacon, nutella, and banana on cinnamon bread), and No. 64(cheddar, Monterey jack, and ricotta w house picked jalapeño and bacon) all ranging from $ 6.99−7.99 and each one was amazing! They also have daily sandwich and soup specials. Very small with only a few tables inside and a small patio outside.

After meaning to check this place out for months, I finally made it on for lunch today. Almost every sandwich on the menu board sounded enticing, so it was hard to settle on just one. However, knowing that I had to come back to the office after lunch helped me decide on a «lighter» option– #72– a grilled sandwich stuffed with ricotta, portobella mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. After placing my order, I was happy to find a table to sit at in this small establishment. In the future, I wouldn’t bank on eating in as there are only 3 – 4 tables inside and just a couple outside. My meal was ready in about 15 minutes and my eyes lit up as soon as the sandwich was delivered to my table. The portions are very generous here. My sandwich was overflowing with both the yummy veggies and amazingly light and fluffy ricotta. The bread was also delicious… a perfectly toasted vessel for all the gooey goodness inside. It was wonderful! I was only able to eat half of my sandwich which means that I get two great meals for a really reasonable price. I’ll be back for more!

I love this place perfect for quick food, I think this place is doing awesome. Tried both places(Allentown poutine) next door which was horrible. This place is amazing, ONLY discretion I have is the seating, very crammed, uncomfortable and personal. Staring and sitting on top of people, otherwise this place is AMAZING and I hope it stays and gets bigger and takes over that poutine joint… Bathroom, seating, outdoor seating)

My two friends and I just went there yesterday and we ordered 3(fresh mozzarella/tomato/pesto, apple/caramelized onions/brie/Gouda/cheddar, banana nutella/ricotta) and had it sliced 3 ways so we could all have a taste of each. I kid you not… all 3 choices were soooo AMAZING. I would have this everyday if I could!

If you are looking for a snazzy version of a childhood favorite then I would suggest Melting Point! My office and I ordered a few different sandwiches so we could try various flavors. I absolutely love the No. 50(Nutella, ricotta, bacon, and banana on cinnamon swirl bread) and the No 38(Monterey Jack, grilled chicken, roasted poblano, and sweet cherry tomato jam). The sandwiches are hearty and tasty. When I first opened the wrapper my mouth was ready to water with how appetizing the sandwich looked. It was definitely packed with satisfying ingredients. The staff really knows what they are doing there! I would recommend ordering your food to-go as it is really small and quite chilly. I was blown away with how creative the menu was… the only draw back is there are no substitutions(i’m sure they would make exceptions for people who have allergies.) All in all, I think that this will be our new go-to place for lunch!
