Checked this place out yesterday to watch the Orlando City vs San Jose game. Attentive staff and great customer service. Their mojitos were excellent and would recommend the cheese platter.

Great neighborhood bar. I am slightly obsessed with their cheese plate! Great craft cocktails too!

Love the fact that the staff here is always willing to put on women’s soccer matches. Many places in Buffalo have joined the soccer bandwagon over the past couple years but not all happily play women’s matches, championship and exhibition games included. I’ve been here over a dozen time in the past few years but the prevailing reason is always for soccer. They make excellent cocktails too. I took a gamble and asked one bartender the other day if she could put a little Aperol in my Negroni. She surprised me with a wealth of opinions about what makes a good Negroni. Needless to say this isn’t a cocktail the average bartender typically knows a great deal about. What’s not so enjoyable about this spot is that one often leaves smelling like garlic and other food. I don’t know what’s up with the ventilation but it consistently appears to be an issue. It can also be crowded with an enormous amount of bros sometimes.

The intimate experience of sucking down the carefully crafted drinks and slowly masticating this mouthwatering meal was akin to food and cocktail porn. Orgasmically delicious! Oooh, ooh, ahhhh, yes, yes, yes!

Nice, cozy restaurant bar with a good selection of beers and cocktails. On the night we went in, the menu items looked very interesting, so my wife and I ordered two panini’s to share — the prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato and basil panini and the shaved ribeye, hot cherry pepper and provolone. I think our expectations were too high as there were several interesting menu items that we didn’t select… only to order the panini’s and end up underwhelmed by our selection. We will probably explore the menu further in the near future and look forward to enjoying the patio. At this time, our overall impression is that this a nice, cozy, stylish drinking bar… we’re just not quite feeling the food.

My review will be short because I only stopped in for drinks with a friend but I do plan on coming back to try their food, their dishes smelled and looked delicious! We went around 7pm on a Tuesday, this place had a great ambience to it. It is small but it’s not too small. We were served by the best bartender I’ve ever encountered in buffalo; he was social, very nice, knowledgeable and handsome! He really knew his stuff. I will definitely be back, thank you!

This place is ok. Way too loud to talk to the person sitting across from you and honestly a bit too dim. Its mostly focused on the TVs and the food is only average. Sangria I had was ok but nothing to write home about.

We have been to this place about half a dozen times. Love the atmosphere, but being small, it can get pretty loud and crowded with as few as 40 people. Great place to go before seeing a film at the North Park right next door. Drinks and beer choices are good and the food has been terrific all but once.(that one time was pretty horrible though). It’s impressive how they can put out such good food with only one end of the bar for a kitchen. Pizzas are very good and the shaved beef and cherry pepper panini was fabulous the first time I ordered it. The best thing about the one man kitchen? I’m going to remember the guy who was cooking that night the food was awful. He won’t get another chance to screw up my food again!

Good place to watch some soccer. The food was pretty good except my brother ordered this chicken that came very dry. I don’t think it was what he was expecting and it was considered a small plate. Please see the picture below to see what they consider SMALL lol. The bartender suggested that we order Summer shandys so we did and they were off the chain. I will probably be coming back here but most likely for a happy hour for drinks or appetizers not likely a dinner meal.

I love this place! The food is of great quality and made fresh. I had the grilled veggie sandwich the last time I was there. Their staff is always so energetic, friendly, and fun to be around. Their mixed drinks are all heavenly! It’s a great place to catch a soccer game or to just hang out with friends and family.

Such a good spot for food and drinks! i’ve been here for dinner once and really enjoyed myself. It’s a little crowded for dinner for my taste(it is a bar first and foremost), but I’ve been here a few occasions for drinks with friends and really enjoyed myself. The bartenders are always very open and friendly, treating strangers and regulars alike. The TVs are distracting for me, and I typically do bars with friend groups, so I’m not here too often, but they always have soccer or other less mainstream sports on(such as tennis or cycling), which is fun. There’s not a ton of room, but it’s cozy and the front outdoor patio is nice for stepping outside. Mes Que is practically a Hertel staple now, it’s hard to be disappointed with it!

For Buffalo this is 5 stars. To start, it’s a soccer bar. Very specialized for those who love fútbol. The beer selection is decent — roughly 10 draught beers and a large selection of bottles. The cocktail selection is where it’s at though. $ 8 for some delicious and artisanal drinks. We sat at the bar and were able to sample a few of them and the next one was better than the last. I ordered a pizza that had; goat cheese, asparagus pesto, sun dried tomatoes and topped with extra virgin police oil and pomegranate balsamic glaze. It was fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about it. My lunch date got the chorizo, arugula, Roma tomatoes and manchego cheese pizza, he said it was equally amazing. Great place to stop while you’re in North Buffalo!

This is the Mecca to all soccer fans when it comes to watching a game. I can’t say I’m reviewing relative to that as I am not a fan of soccer and have never been here for a game. I can however tell that this place gets packed! And for World Cup there is an outdoor big screen. But I digress.,. This place wants to be a trendy food joint. But it just isn’t. The food just kinda… Stinks. I feel bad almost saying that but both times it just wasn’t that good. I think what makes up for it is that the cocktails are really good. I also need to tell you to get some Moscow mules – pick your flavor(vodka, tequila, rum). They are made pretty well. I might come back for drinks here and there but never for dinner. It’s weird conceptually that the food is made behind the bar. But I won’t judge… I’ll just eat somewhere else.

This place used to be called«Mess Queue», but it was shortened because there isn’t much space on their signage. It was named as such because, duh, it’s always messy and there’s always a queue for the loo. However these days it’s not messy and the queue is occasionally manageable… so they changed the name… To Mish Queen. But that attracted all kinds of pervy leery gross hairy older men who thought this business was, of course, something it is not. So they had to change the name again, and chose«Mes Que», which is named after part of FC Barcelona’s slogan, «Mes Que Une Club.» More than a club. Kind of like when you’re playing poker, and you realize you have an extra card hiding behind the 5 of clubs! You have«More than a club!» You have a queen too! A mish queen. So… This is a really cool soccer bar! They have good food, and they show lots and lots of soccer. It’s the kind of place that Buffalo needed… so badly, did it need it. It is a great place with a lot of great people there. I have watched soccer here several times, most notably the Champions League Final of 2014 which was packed wall to wall and extremely intense and enjoyable. The Brazil World Cup, I heard, was even crazier, but I was actually in Brazil for the Brazil World Cup, so… ;) They have a cool soccer quiz here once every month or so, and I’m ridiculously good at it, to the extent that it’s unfair on the other people who play, unless they’re on my team. I’m also incredibly modest, didn’t you know. I win a gift certificate whenever I play the quiz and am able to take my friends here and buy them food. Which is fun. But I should really not play the quiz anymore because it’s really not fair. So with my latest gift certificate, I took two Unilocalers here. They both ate pizza(you can see their pizzas in the picture) and let me try some of them. One of the pizzas was sweet, and I don’t really like sweet mixed with savoury(I know, stop telling me I’m a bad foodie, I’m so not a foodie, lol), and the other pizza was much better. More pesto-y and herb-y. But to be honest the pizzas didn’t do anything for me, and I don’t think they did anything for the two of them, either. There were some stars of the food menu though. The warm bread and oil was fantastic! I can’t remember where they said they got the bread from, but it comes partially cooked and then they do the rest… and my word, they do a great job. Excellent oil too. Some of the best bread-and-oil I’ve had in the city, not far behind Village Eatery(Lockport) and Oliver’s. And that was free, so they brought more as many times as we wanted it. What a treat. The other thing I liked was my Charcuterie plate. I’ve never ordered a Charcuterie in my life before, because I’m usually priced out of it, but at $ 8 it was very affordable, especially since I had a gift certificate. There were four different types of meat, with some spicy mustard and some sweet preserves. Ew to the preserves. The mustard was excellent. The prosciutto was good but not great. The salami was excellent. But the real highlight were the two different types of greasy, cold, spicy, ready-to-eat sausages. One was«Chippolata» and the other, well, I’m not sure, but it was similar, just a little pepperier-er-er. I absolutely loved both sausages, and I’m 99% sure that it was Spar’s European Sausage Shop providing them, because Spar’s rocks my world in the same way and has a very similar taste. So they may not prepare the meats in house, but they made a damn good choice when they decided to work with Spar’s. So this Charcuterie Plate gets a 5 for the taste(because of the sausages, not the other two meats), and a 5 for the price. It should be a lower price since they don’t make the meats in house, but the fact that it is, pleases me quite a lot. Good job, Mes Que. Now don’t go raising the prices on me. And of course because it’s the only soccer pub in town, and I keep winning soccer quizzes here, and because I know now that some of the food is great, Mes Que clearly scores 5. This is Mes Que Un Bar… it’s a Soccer Pub with a Spanish twist. And when I say Spanish twist I don’t mean Julio Iglesias singing a Chubby Checker song. Nor doing his dance, which I think he would not be able to do anyway because he is partially disabled, I’m not kidding either, look it up on Tapas-pedia. It’s Wikipedia for Spaniards.

I have been here twice. Only once had the food. This review is more of the food than the drinks or environment. Our table had a few different things. The pizzas were not terrific and the flavors did not really come through well. Perhaps too much bread or cheese or something. I’m not sure. But the bread on the table with the oil dipping plate was terrific. The meats on one of the plates were underwhelming, again, lacking in flavor. My cocktail was very nice though, have to say. It was, as so often is the case, a little on the small side, and the shot was clearly on the smaller side than the larger side of a shot, but OK. Its nice to be able to sit at the bar, a table inside, or a table outside. The tables also turned quickly, but I had no impression anyone was being rushed at all either. They clientele was having a great time both times I was there. I had a beer the prior time I went, and while I enjoyed it I have no idea what it was, other than something on draft. Id come back for a drink and atmosphere, but probably not for the food. Street parking.

I can’t recall there being a better manicured soccer bar than Mes Que. Most soccer bars are teeming with soccer hooligans. Soccer hooligans, when mixed with beer, go crazy and destroy everything. Bars, police cars and soccer referees usual bare the brunt of the destruction. But Mes Que has great appeal inside it. Not only does it defy soccer hooligans by being, well, intact, there’s even nicely stained wooden trim lining the bar area and the fully functional flat panel TV that does not have bar stool marks in it. I was trying to think why that was until it hit me… their pizza with sun dried tomatoes, pesto, goat cheese and a sweet balsamic glaze coating was outrageous. So outragous, in fact, that if I were angry that my team was down one to nill in extra time, or my favorite striker has just been given a red card, or David Beckham did another underwear commercial that my wife and her friends would swoon over for the foreseeable future, I’d still think twice about destroying something. Maybe their awesome pizza placates soccer hooligans. It sure kept me happy. So did the Carlsberg on tap… and the little plastic soccer goalies inside the urinals you can pee on, yell«GOOOOAL» then pull your shirt off and slide across the bathroom floor on your knees while you celebrate.

I’ve been in Mes Que plenty of times for a drink but recently went in for a drink and food. Normally showing soccer games, the bar put on basketball for the NCAA tournament. I was happy about this because my sister and I intended to go for lunch and watch a game. To drink we both got the hamburg small town saison — a nice refreshing beer on a friday afternoon. For lunch we decided to split the goat cheese asparagus pesto sun dried tomato pomegranate balsamic glaze pizza and the seared duck panini. LOVE the pizza! The panini on the other hand… something about the duck and the bacon together made it not work. Next time I will probably order a different panini. Overall the atmosphere, wait staff, food, and drink is quite good. In the past, especially this winter, I like to warm up to a moscow mule. Can’t wait to sip on some sangria on the patio this summer!

I’ve seen the crowds on game days. We came in on a cold Friday for dinner. Warm and cozy. Good service. The Astor Row cocktail was tasty. Chorizo pizza — good toppings, crust tasted store bought which was a shame. Chocolate caramel macadamia torte was a nice ending. All in all, a good evening.

My wife and I wanted to try something new nearby with good beer. I knew Mes Que was a hit among soccer fans but I had no idea how great their bar, food, and service would be! Our server Maddy was a ray of sunshine and the food was great. I had the Chorizo, roast, rice, and beans(I love gumbo so this was a no-brainer) and my wife had penne with chicken and pesto sauce. The beer selection was solid as well. I enjoyed two different Flying Bison selections: The Rusty Chain standby and their Scotch Ale, which I’d never had. Again, Maddy was wonderful and we want to give Greg a special thank you as well for going above and beyond. I’m not sure how crazy it is on weekends but the atmosphere was perfect week for a night date night!

I really, really like this place! I visited Més Que on Sunday to watch the opening game for the National Women’s Soccer League(NWSL), it was the home team, WNY Flash vs Washington Spirit. They were hosting an official viewing party and some members of the Flash practice squad were in attendance. The bar in the restaurant is pretty big, basically goes from one side of the room to the next and it has two TV mounted right in front. It looks like they carry a pretty decent selection of beers. I am not a beer drinker so I am happy that they have 3 different ciders(Strongbow, Magners and Cidre). They have 4 big TVs, 2 over the bar, 1 next to the bar close to the patio and one on the opposite wall, next to some tables, where it looks you could have your own cheering section. While I was there they played nothing but sports, and not just soccer. They also had a golf tournament and Formula 1 racing. The TV I was interesting in is the one closer to the patio, that the one that streams(from the internet). The food looks excellent! I had the prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and pesto panini. It was so hot and so good! …I could have one right now… Next time I’ll have to try a salads, the table next to me ordered one and it looked great! I am really looking forward to going back and watching more games!
