If this were located in the middle of the ocean at a resort with nothing but Lawyers, Politicians, Traffic Cops, Insurance Brokers, Car Dealerships, Credit Card Companies, and the Media, then it would have to be renamed«Parasite Island.» Which wouldn’t be nearly as appealing. In the song«In The Air Tonight», Phil Collins famously said, «oh, don’t think twice, it’s just another lunch for you and me at Paradise Island.» Now he may have been paid to sing this, and in fact I heard that Collins was paid a TON of Jamaican Dollars to sing those words, and I don’t believe that advertising even works, but let me just say that if Phil Collins says so, it must be true. End of discussion. I came here recently and tried their large Jerk Chicken dinner. I heard that the small was very large, but it was only $ 2 more for a large. I have to say that while the large was big, the small must either be similar to the large, or not that large. Lol.(Yes I just lolled in this review. What are you going to do about it.) In the song«Walking On The Moon» by The Police, Sting sings«I like Jamaican food even though it makes my arse sting later on.» It’s currently debated hotly(no pun intended) if this is where the name Sting actually originated. But don’t worry. The food here won’t really make your arse sting. Not your ass, either. Not the food I had anyway. It was very delicious. I am not sure if I liked it as much as Kalypso and Doctor Bird’s… I definitely like it as much as Jamaican Experience on Bailey. But all four of them are excellent, to be honest. The one that stands above the rest is the remarkable Michelle’s on CTST(Connecticut Street), which has DOUBLES which are one of the greatest concoctions in human history, and only $ 2 each. Trust me. Get one. In the song«Black Or White» by Michael Jackson, the King Of Pop sings«I love Jamaican food and I wish I still had Jamaican features but the surgery totaly messed it up so now I just look like ET after losing a lot of blood», and while that may sound unrelated to this food, it’s not. I haven’t figured out why not, but it’s just not, ok. I highly recommend you give it a try. Ask for extra jerk chicken sauce so you can really dip it and sip it, ask for some sauce to be poured on the rice so it’s not dry… the cabbage and fried plantains that come with it are phenomenal. The fried plantains are so sweet and juicy… they’re some of the best ones I’ve had. In the song«99 Problems» by Jay-Z, he raps«I haven’t the foggiest idea why I don’t consume more delicacies from the Caribbean, but hitherto I shall do precisely that.» And he’s right. We should all eat more Jamaican food. Cuz like, when you tease me with Jamaican food, Jamaican me crazy. And when you taunt me with Jamaican food, Jamaican me want it bad. And when you touch me with Jamaican food, Jamaican me come. To the restaurant, I mean. To get some. Food, I mean. Make sure you give it a try. Also try the other 4 places I mentioned(especially Michelle’s!) and then decide for yourself which is your fave. I should also point out that this place has a lot of fish dishes too, and the guy that makes them says that the fish dishes are his personal faves and that everyone should try them. I’m ignoring the fact that my cats knocked my food all over the floor and left a stain and that I only got to eat a third of it. Otherwise this place would get a 1 star. His name is Anderson… Brown. His name is Anderson, Anderson. Brown, Brown, Brown. And in the song«Bombastic» by Shaggy, he sings«who the hell is that guy that wrote that really weird bizarre song-references review about my place and why the hell did he do that?», and my response to both Shaggy and to the owner of this place is, «it wasn’t me.»

Amazing! This place is new, and so I didn’t know what to expect, but I was very impressed by my jerk chicken meal. A small portion(which is actually quit large) come with rice and beans, boiled cabbage and veggies, and your choice of white or dark meat chicken. The jerk chicken itself was some of the best I’ve had anywhere, and hands down beats any in the area. Overall the whole meal had a rich variety of spices. Was also very reasonably priced. Will deffinetly be going back

Clearly a new business. It was Sunday during a bills game so it was pretty empty except for our server who I imagine is possibly the owner. Very clean, brightly colored, fitting the Jamaican theme. We ordered the lg. Jerk chicken for 9.50. Plentiful portion and absolutely delicious. Came with rice with some beans and a mixture of like a cooked cabbage with carrots and peas. I will definitely be back for this dish. I would also br interested in trying the oxtail.

Food was amazing. Owner/Chef is a Jamaican native. My wife and I were in Jamaica last year and this food was just as good if not better than what we are there. If you like Jamaican food, you’ll LOVE Paradise Island!
