I love their food, but my husband got a tough roast beef there one time and doesn’t want to go again. I think the chef cut it against the grain or something. He doesn’t like Polish food like I do so I love it there. Wish I could go more often. I’ve never had a meal there that I didn’t like. The fish fries are great! So I go there with girlfriends whenever I can. The seating isn’t as comfortable as some places… no booths. The prices are reasonable and the service is always good.

mockery of Polish food. Took my family there prior to a night at Shea’s and I was humiliated by what they called good food. My cat can cook better…

Party of 10 on a Tuesday night. One waitress and one cook. Service was extremely slow. Food came out Luke warm. The applesauce accompanying the potato pancakes had mold in it. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Needing my Polish food fix before I left the Buffalo, NY area, my family recommended Peter K’s and it was an excellent choice. My brother and I grew up on Polish food and I’m a bit picky because I compare it to my Mom’s cooking. Of the 4 of us at the table, 2 ordered the Polish Platter, brother ordered the Meatloaf and SIL ordered a Ruben sandwich. The Polish Platter consists of two golabki(cabbage stuffed with a beef/rice mixture covered in a tomato sauce), 1 potato pancake, four piergogi of your choice(cheese, sauerkraut, or potato)(like a ravioli), and smoked Polish sausage on a bed of sauerkraut. We needed an extra table for all of the dishes the dinner came on… extra golabki, extra potato pancakes, etc. I enjoyed the smoked sausage which was sliced and grilled on the flattop(nice crunch!!) and the kraut and potato piergogi and the kraut side. Biggest disappointment was the golabki — way too much rice, not enough meat, and the filling was not flavored — possibly missing some salt. Most of the flavor came from the tomato sauce topping. Their size was nice, 2 or 3 would be a great meal. Brothers meatloaf was huge and good and SIL’s Ruben was great size and flavorful. Peter K’s is like many other good eateries in Buffalo area — it’s both a bar and a restaurant. We didn’t check out the bar, but it seemed buzy.

We started with the French onion soup, it was delicious but could have been a bit warmer. For the main we tried the polish platter, everything was delicious but again it could have been warmer. The platter was definitely big enough for two to share. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We would definitely return if we are in this area.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Peter K’s in the past. This is your parent’s corner beer joint, with a great kitchen. Amazing fish fry, two hugs planks of fish as long as your forearm, offered beer-battered, broiled or baked. comes with choices of macaroni, german or american potato salad, fries, side salad. Many choices. Their steak sandwich is also very good. They use Costanzo’s rolls. I’ve never had any of the Polish food, & all DC who have just rave about it. Especially the potato pancakes. Have also heard many thumbs up for the fried bologna. TUESDAYISAYCEPOTATOPANCAKENIGHT. Private lots on either side. Front of the house is a bar; the side door leads directly into the restaurant. FISHFRYONLYONFRIDAYS!!! There have been subtle yet noticeable changes in quality and service over the past 4 years. They no longer use real potatos. Mashed are from flakes and fries come in frozen. Potato pancakes are still real, though. The older servers, the wonderful motherly women who might have had names like Hilda & Stella, have retired. The new servers are adequate, & I miss the gemütlichkeit atmosphere of former days. No more bread basket! Not sure when they stopped this. it used to automatically appear(rye & pumpernickel) right after ordering. I was there the day after Dyngus Day, & they literally had no vegetables or chicken. The server kept repeating: «They just, like, cleaned us out, & we didn’t get a delivery today!!». My last visit, in August, I ordered a Tom Collins(I know, I know…) & I received something in a sour glass that was absolutely undrinkable. 3 young ladies at the bar & none of them knew how to make a TC. They stated that they«had googled it». I offered to show them exactly how to make one & was told it was policy, so sorry, no patrons behind the bar. Mmmmm, I could talk them through it. No, sorry. So, unless I am already in the area, and it’s Friday, I have broken up with Peter K. One star for the Fish Fry. One star for the rest of the terrific food.

I’m a Polish food aficionado, so I had to check this place out. Dragged my friend in here early on a Tuesday night and the dining room was completely empty, which is A-OK by me. My companion and I ordered the polish feast for two, which is HUGE even for two people… two golabki(cabbage stuffed with a beef/rice mixture in a tomato sauce), two potato pancakes, four piergogi of your choice(cheese, sauerkraut, or potato), and smoked Polish sausage on a bed of sauerkraut. I was impressed with the sauerkraut and sausage– I’m not usually a fan of sauerkraut, but this was awesome. Similarly, I usually prefer fresh sausage to smoked, but this was pretty good. My point of contention comes at the golabki. It was cold in the middle, like refrigerator cold. True, they are better reheated, so I don’t hold that against them… but you need to actually reheat it! That and I wasn’t wowed. Meh.

So was looking for options for lunch again in my work area and came across Peter K’s by filtering for cheap eats. It wasn’t the cheapest option by any means but still pretty solid. I called in a pick-up order for their Reuben, which was $ 8.95 plus a dollar extra to upgrade from chips to seasoned fries. Drove over and walked in, place was empty except for two people seated at a corner table. A woman appeared and asked if I was Dan. Said yep and she invited me back to the bar area to pay. Hard to tell without people but overall it seemed a nice atmosphere. The Reuben itself was good, little light on the cheese and dressing but heavy on the kraut and corned beef to make it a big sandwich.(picture I took doesn’t do it justice) Corned beef was sliced thin and was pretty tasty and kraut had a nice acidic vinegary kick like you expect from some good Polish Kraut. The fries were ok, but already lost some crispness from being in to go box. I’d probably just skip them next time as their was plenty of food with the sandwich alone. So basically a little pricey for the lunch but I’d be back as it was good and now I am curious to see how the Polish food is.

I think this is the best fish fry around. Salads are good and fish is two huge pieces. Even Cole slaw is good here. I give it five stars. Good people there too

Amazing Polish food in an average looking bar. Pierogies are out of this world. I liked the kraut, had just the right amount of sour. Sampler also comes with cheese and potato, equally fabulous. Had the good luck to show up on Thursday, all you can eat potato pancake day. Thin, fried just right, and quite filling. Don’t let the outside fool you, go inside for Polish treats that will make you and your stomach very happy.

First time visit for my wife and I today(Friday 2⁄15). My wife ordered the Petite Fish Fry with a side of two Potato Pirogi’s. I ordered their Beef Stroganoff with a bowl of French Onion soup. I think I threw the kitchen off their norm of a steady order of fish fries from what I see and hear from the tables around us. Our order took quite a while with the waitress saying she would check on it. After sometime our order came out. My soup came out with my entrée which was on a basic white plastic plate you would find in a cafeteria. The Beef Stroganoff didn’t look like what I was use to seeing. It was chunks of ground beef in and on top of what looked like a potato pancake. I saw mushrooms in it, but no sight of onions, brown gravy and sour cream. for which it stated in the menu’s description. No sign of Egg Noodles either which is typical of Beef Stroganoff I know of. I did notice quite a bit of grease also on the plate, assuming the fried the ground beef in a fry pan and dumped it all on the plate without straining the grease from the beef. Our waitress was very busy and I didn’t want to raise a fuss over the missing ingredients. We did see who we thought was the owner, a tall man with grey hair walking around talking to the wait staff. We were surprised that if he was the owner, he should have been asking people how their food was. Ohhh well. As for the rest of our order, the French Onion soup was average, nothing special about it and my wife’s Petite Fish Fry looked good. It came out on this huge pinkish oval plate. Way too big for a Petite Fish Fry, which came with French Fries and your choice of American or German potato salad and Cole slaw. My wife said the Fish was good and her American potato salad was good. She’s not a Cole slaw person, so she didn’t touch that. She said she was disappointed that the Tartar sauce came in packets instead of plastic portion control cups. As for her Pirogi’s, she said they were also fine. They came with a portion control cup of Sour Cream. So overall, it was alright, but with all the other local places offering Fish Fry’s and Pirogi’s in the area we won’t be returning due to the time it took to get our food and the missing ingredients in my meal.

The pierogis, glomki and potato pancakes are unbelievably good here! Though it is a bar, too, the table service in the restaurant section is great. I like the food better than the Polish Villa.

Awesome pierogies and stuffed potato pancakes. For example, You can get turkey and cheddar potato pancakes. It has a bar where many local regulars sit. Reasonably priced — divey casual place.

Note: if Peter keeps staring at you, that’s just his«Peter Gaze». Ha. Ha. What to get: Wings(Medium, extra saucy), Pierogies. What else: Everything. Excellent Polish fare. Excellent Buffalo bar/restaurant atmosphere. Decent prices. Excellent wings. Well worth a visit. Second only to Polish Villa in terms of top notch Polish nosh. Edit: Having been here a few times recently, I can say that their wings are good, some of the best around, so definitely try those. Their other Polish food is pretty good but in my oh-so-utterly-humble opinion, their best item by far, and I mean by FAR, is their Pierogie. It’s a bit pricey but my word WHAT A PIEROGIE, it rivals any of the pierogies in Cleveland or Pittsburgh that I’ve had, its delicious and made just right, grilled with onions, not mushy, not dry, just effing perfect. Try it and see. The one with farmer’s cheese is the best although the potato one is great too. The one with saurkraut is awful, but that’s the saurkraut’s fault — I don’t like saurkraut. If you do, you’ll love it. Their Polish pancakes/potato cakes are good, their sausages are excellent of course, and I love their chicken wings as well. The place has a bar if that’s your thing, or a nice sit down restaurant room for families, not at all pretentious and extremely Buffalonian(or Cheektowagan if you will). This place has lots of memories for me, and they make fantastic Polish fare. If they made a Polish fair, there would be games like, pin the sausage on the clown, and such. Thankfully they make fare, not fair. 5⁄5
