Stopped in after the Bills game. Although past visits have kept the noise level at a dull roar, this bar seems to bring in quite the crowd for the games, making it difficult to chat with your crew or even the waitress. Nevertheless we enjoyed wings, myself sticking true to my new favorite, Garlic Parmesan. The wings were decent, not the best, not the worst. Additionally the table shared a basket of fresh cut fries. A basket was plenty to pass around, so be aware of this when ordering for yourself. What I would like to say is the waitress was great throughout the service, despite the crowds of bills fans celebrating the end of season win, she remained patient and attentive.

BESTWINGSINBUFFALO? I stopped in for a couple of pints and a Sabres game the other night and was pretty impressed with this place. Mind you, I’ve been to Potter’s Field before and have always have a good time, but we’re talking short visits as I stopped in just to quench my thirst between stops in other bars. This time, however, I stayed the whole night and even ordered food. Service: The service is killer. It’s a bar so it’s not like the staff folds your napkin fancy for you or rubs your shoulders or anything while you sit there, but that staff was fast and friendly. Beer: The beer is cheap. Enough said. Food: I ordered a bucket of wings«Smitty Style» for my group. I was given the idea from another person and couldn’t tell you what that meant before. But after tasting them, and also realizing that they were so good that it wouldn’t be implausible to suggest that the Virgin Mary herself could roll up the immaculate sleeves on her robe and throw down a few flats, I figure Smitty Style means PERFECT. Nice work, Smitty. Even The Creator is proud of you for these wings, I’m sure.

In the category of corner bar/neighborhood pub, I am giving this place five stars without hesitation. I wandered down here between the afternoon and evening wake for a family member that had recently passed. I just wanted a beer and a burger; and if they didn’t have burgers, I was willing to settle for fryer food. I hadn’t eaten anything all day. First of all, this place is really nice inside with what looks to be modern renovations, new chairs and tables — plenty of seating. There is also a nice little patio in back. The menu FAR exceeded my expectations for what, from the outside, appeared to be a simple corner bar. This was a full restaurant menu and with unique creations. Some of the tempting items included: their house burger with banana peppers mixed into the meat, a jerk chicken sandwich with pineapple and avocado, a grilled cheese that combined a variety of cheeses with prosciutto and tomato, an Irish BLT with corned beef, the Ms. Piggy with pulled pork, bacon, ham, sauteed onions and cheese, a coconut shrimp appetizer, and spaghetti squash as a seasonal special! I had to send the kind waitress away twice because I hadn’t been prepared for these kind of options. I finally decided on Irish potato skins for an appetizer and the Turkey Club Croissant. For an extra $ 1, I upgraded the side of regular fries to sweet potato fries. Now, I have never liked sweet potatoes but I saw a pic of them on Unilocal and they looked interesting. I love interesting, which gets me into trouble in regards to dating but with food, I’m usually OK. Besides, I figured if I didn’t like them I could bring them to my mom who I’d be seeing later. OMG. WOW! — and I’ve never liked sweet potatoes before. These waffle-cut fries come tossed in what I believe was honey and cinnamon. I’m salivating slightly as I write this; reminiscing about the wonderful aroma and the delightful taste. Worth the stop just for these. Exceptional, across the board — nice establishment, very clean, friendly service, large & creative menu, good prices — my bottled beer was only $ 2(probably daytime prices, but still). I walked out feeling quite jealous of the people that live in the neighborhood.

I was not expecting to like this place at all, but I was proven wrong. Although I haven’t tried the food, I’ve heard nothing but good things. I really enjoy whenever my friends and I end up for a few drinks at Potters Field. It has a dive bar atmosphere. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a night out at the clubs, but It is a good casual place to stop for drinks, great music and patio seating. Everyone always seems to be having a great time. Their music selection in their jukebox is impressive and extensive. I heard some of my favorite 90s throw back hip-hop songs while I was there this weekend. I had totally forgotten that most of the songs existed. The outdoor patio is also nice. There is plenty of seating. They have a set of speakers on the patio so you don’t have to choose between fresh air and good music.

I love this place. They have a solid menu. It’s not huge but it has a lot of good items. They take a lot of care to keep things fresh on the menu. When you go, get the pizza logs. My wife and I love them. The wontons that they use are great. Their winter menu is great. Lots of hearty foods. They also have a friendly staff.

One reason and one reason only for the 3 stars instead of the 2 and that is because they have a super modern, high tech, juke box that has tons of awesome song options and that made all the difference on this night. Outdoor seating here is a definite plus, the inside is a bit old, seats around the perimeter of the restaurant and a rectangular shaped bar in the center. For whatever reason, on Memorial Day weekend, a Sunday night, they only had one bartender staffed. This blew my mind as it took forever to get a beer and even longer to close out our tabs at the end of the night. At one point, we had to recruit people to try and close our tab. We strategized and put people at different areas of the bar, hoping one of us would be able to get the bartenders attention to close the tab. We were desperate and just wanted to leave. To the bartenders defense, he was nice and was doing the best that he could, the place was just rockin’ and he had no help. You’ll find standard domestic beer selections here, haven’t tried the food but probably won’t come back as it is a bit out of the way for me. Their bathrooms were really clean which was a nice plus. The juke box was playing mostly 70’s classic hits, which I absolutely loved. This seems like your neighborhood bar, where people from South Buffalo come to meet up with old friends from high school when they are back in town. Very casual, very laid back, would have been a heck of a lot better if they had additional staff however, because we spent the majority of our time here standing at the bar trying to be served or trying to leave. Put a bit of a damper on the night.

We’ve tried Potters Field a few times… both takeout and dine in. There are a lot of unique things on the menu, so it is definitely a good change of pace from the bar food you usually find in similar establishments. Most recently I tried the reuben bites… pretty tasty, actually… But i’d hate to see what they look like as they are being made lol… They even have a few salad selections. from which i ordered one with pear, bleu cheese, chicken, walnuts, and vidalia dressing… no complaints! We’ve also tried the banana pepper soup, tater tots, french onion soup, lobster mac n cheese, burgers, roast beef, stuffed pepper dip, loganberry wings… and i may be drawing a blank on a few other things. pretty satisfied with all choices; however, i do agree with past reviewers that some of the items seem slightly over priced. We have gone there for sit down service twice, and each time the waitress seemed flustered and not used to serving several tables at once. It wasn’t too much of an issue for our group, as we were busy chatting it up anyway. No doubt, we will return. given the proximity to our new house and the casual atmosphere. Excited to try out the patio once the weather gets warmer!

Whenever I’m in town i always come here. Great Buffalo food and a really good variety. Their beer selection could be better. Also good place to watch Bills and Sabres games.

Pretty good food, but too expensive for what it is. Service is OK. Set up is kind of annoying because you can’t really get around when there are a lot of people at the bar since it is pretty narrow. Good patio though.

I went there recently and they advised that they were eliminating the lunch menu. This makes it quite a bit more expensive and I haven’t been back.

Hands down best banana pepper soup I’ve ever had. Food is good, regular pub food but you can’t go wrong with most of the items on the menu. Hot spot for drunks though.

My boyfriend and I decided to try Potter’s Field tonight. I had been putting it off and putting it off but he kept asking me to go so I finally gave in. To make a long story short, the waitress was wonderful. Food was pretty good. The music was so loud you can’t even talk to the people you are having dinner with. The bar is full of young West Seneca kids blaring rap music and rapping like they are Biggie Smalls. Apparently they all work there because they all kept going in and out of the kitchen even though they were seated at the bar. As we were waiting for our food a girl brings her DOG in and he runs up to my boyfriend. That was my breaking point, and they are lucky I even waited for my food. She proceeded to let the dog run around as she talked to people, he ran up to me several times as I ate. She sat with him on her lap at the bar. I also heard someone say«omg he peed!» Isn’t that against health code? Absolutely disgusting even to me(I am a huge animal lover) I have never rushed out of a bar/restaurant as fast as I did this one and I will never come back!

We’ve been to Potters Field a couple of times now. The waitress is very attentive, the bartender keeps an eye on your drinks as well, and the food is solidly good. Our checks have been about $ 33 each time for 2 people, appetizer, entrée and drinks. They offer some very unique sauces for their wings(non-breaded, a little on the smaller side, but good quality). Besides Hot, Medium and Mild, they offer South Buffalo Style(don’t order these — they are breaded and low meat quality wings), honey mustard, charbroiled, mango red pepper BBQ, and chipolte BBQ. They also offer a less adventurous Kentucky BBQ which I ordered and enjoyed — just a hint of heat. They also let us split a single order of wings in 2 flavors, which was nice and not an option at most places we’ve been to. Their regular menu includes French Onion Soup and Stuffed Banana Pepper Soup(not spicy at all, but very tasty). They also have 3(!!!) «soups of the day» that change regularly. With this many soups, it’s awesome that they offer a 3-Soup Sampler for $ 4.99 as an appetizer. That alone would be worth coming to try! We’ve had burgers and steaks here. Every time they have been overcooked by one level, but they taste so good it doesn’t matter. We did let the kitchen know that he’s off by about 10 seconds, but otherwise next time we’ll see if there’s improvement or just start ordering things medium rare. lol That kitchen has a char broiler back there and they aren’t afraid to use it! the burgers are delicious and totally worth the $ 8.99. Our burgers came with fresh cut fries. They were YUM. :-) My dinner companion opted for sweet potato fries($ 1 upcharge) which came in waffle cut and were topped with a honey butter concoction of goodness. You also have the option of upgrading to tater tots, but we will save that for another time. The waitress said that the tater tots are the chef’s specialty, so that’s definitely a must try for next time. Ask about the daily specials! From 11am-3pm Monday-Friday, everything on their menu is $ 6.99(excludes double wings and soup). It’s delicious. I will be returning.
