Denny’s

Denny’s is pretty established in western New York but not too many locations remain. The location on Ridge Road is always clean service is always prompt and the food is always fresh. Best thing about Dennys is they have hash browns and coffee is always refilled without delay.

This is a review of my last experience I had here. I come here very often (at least once a week). I actually came here twice on Thursday October 1^st. The first time was fine as always; food was just like always (middle of the road) and the wait staff was nice. I went with two other people at around 11pm that night and was surprised at the lack of service. It took forever to just get our drinks. Our order was a sampler appetizer, bbq chicken dinner, and the nachos platter.
It took a lot longer for our food to come and after our appetizer finally came we never saw our original waitress again; we found out later on that she decided to leave because she was only 2 weeks old and didn’t know that a proper waitress stays until their table is done.
When we finally got our entrees, I had ordered no gravy on my mashed potatoes and yet they were covered. Fine, I can deal with gravy, I just rather would’ve not had it. What was terrible was the nachos. It looked like the «chef» placed chips everywhere and then dumped a can of chili off to the side of the place and poured the cheese and such by it too and then called it a day.
A blind monkey could do better. When the new waitress brought it over my friend asked to have it sent back and have it done correctly. She asked what was wrong with it. He replied, «Don’t you see it? It looks like he just poured a can of chili out and thought he was done». She then went back into the kitchen where we hear the «chef» yell «WHAT! What’s wrong with it»? She then came back and asked him again what was wrong. He replied saying «never mind because you just pissed off the cook». Next thing we knew, the manager came over and said we made her cry and he expects his customers to show him and his staff the proper respect. We almost got up and left right their but I was starving. We ate and as we were paying the manager said the same thing to us and then walked away before we could defend ourselves.
I’ve never been so disrespected by someone in the food service industry. I hope those two waitresses get other jobs because little miss weepy is not cut out for it and the other one needs to be taught that you finish your tables before heading home. Fire the «chef» and the manager; for the love of god.

This is the first time that I have ate at this restaurant. The waitress was very polite and helpful. The food was good and served promptly.

I have come to this location at times on the fly. Sometimes I wonder why we stop here but we do. It’s close and convenient to the thruway. Every Time it takes about ten minutes after seated to have our drinks. Then another 5 – 10 for our order to be taken. This is way no matter how busy or not busy they are. Waitresses are usually rude and short. At times when we do come, we get that occasional waitress that truly tries but not often. If you need to go to a Denny’s I would recommend the other location about 5 minutes away on southwestern. They by far do everything to please you.

I’ve must award another 5 stars to this particular location. Last afternoon hubby and I celebrated a friend’s birthday with friend in tow. Not a drinking or partying afternoon as we are all getting older than dirt and the rock we live under gets harder to move under the influence of alcohol.
Maybe a few drinks were consumed. It was time to eat (4PM — I can’t believe this myself) and none of our plethora of menu’s appealled to us. Denny’s has steaks, decent ones from what I can remember of our last foray into Pre-​Fab Food World oh so many years ago.
We conceded. Two steak and shrimp dinners. One Spaghetti dinner (NEW! I used to argue with the servers because they never offered pasta). And a sampler platter.
What can I say. Steaks were perfect rares. Pasta, well I’ve had better. Should have kept my yap shut. Mashed spuds were from a box. Sampler Platter? Really tasty and done right.
This is not where I hang out but that doesn’t make it necessarily bad. Within reason, this restaurant can work. This is the only location that I am rating. I’ve had some issues with the other Denny’s around. Also, sober daughter picked up food so no one imbibing was driving!

Denny’s is Denny’s no matter where you go. The food’s a bit greasy, the service is mediocre but it’s good for a quick bite with friends at any hour of the night.
I can’t say that this Denny’s distinguished itself from any of the other hundred or so in the Buffalo area.
