This is our favorite wine and spirits store in town. The staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful. We are always looking to try something new and are never disappointed! The store itself is very clean and organized. Unlike most liquor stores, products are elegantly displayed and easy to find. The decorating is beautifully done with hand painted portraits on the walls. I feel like I just stepped into a European vineyard when I enter. It’s very elegant and makes buying wine a truly unique experience. The prices are very competitive as well. We signed up for emails and are only emailed when specials are happening. They do not bombard you with emails and only send one to alert you of sales happening that week. I also really admire how the owner is consistently promoting local wine and spirits. We have been introduced to many buffalo distilleries and wineries solely because of the owner’s recommendation. It’s really clear they are proud to be in Buffalo and we are proud to be their customers! Cannot say enough high praises for this store! Highly recommend!

Stopped in for some wine yesterday, as we walked in, a man was stocking some shelves, we walked right past him and he never even acknowledged us. We had some questions about a few brands, and we kept looking over at him, trying to get his attention, finally I had to walk over and ask if he could help. We were looking for«domestic inexpensive«types of wine, he repeatedly kept recommending«German» wines, which were about 12+ for a smaller bottle. Finally we gave up on him and just picked something on our own. We got the impression we were bothering him, and yes, we are new to wine drinking, but he made us feel low for wanting to buy cheaper wine. I’ll stick to the liquor store in Alden from now on, they’re not snooty there, and welcome your business!

Love. Always a go to spot when we stay over enough time to bring back alcohol! Staff is friendly and helpful. I maybe jaded due to the crazy prices we pay in Canada but I get super excited when I go in there. So much variety at a great price!

I have to say, I am not overly picky when it comes to places where I buy wine. Pretty much, if you have a bunch of decently priced wines, I will probably like you. However, I recently moved right around the corner from The Wine Sellar, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I went there. I moved, oh, around the beginning of July, and a couple weeks later when I went there, they had Bully Hill Wines on sale for $ 5.99. Are you kidding me? That’s a great price! When Premier has Bully Hill on sale, it is usually no cheaper than about eight dollars, and rarely do I see it on sale there at all. The Wine Sellar had almost all varities on sale for this price. I went back a week later to stock up on more, thinking the sale wouldn’t last much longer… but every time I have gone back, including this past Friday, it has been on sale for this price! And many of the New York wines in general there are a better price than Premier. Not sure about how their liquor prices are because I really never purchase that, but I have been super impressed with their wine selection and prices. Of course, Premier has a much larger selection, being such a giant store, and they are a bit more knowledgeable about wines, which is the only reason why I gave the Wine Sellar four and not five stars, but for someone like me who just wants something that tastes good and pairs well with whatever foods I am cooking, this place is the best!
