So… there I was, 11:30pm and wing fever struck! I had to get me a wing or I thought I was going to explode. My husband just came in, so I went over to him with my best doe eyes, batted my lashes and asked nicely if he could find me a place with chicken wings late at night. He searched like a crazy man and between Fox’s helpful review and the hours of operation we FINALLY placed our wing order in with wise guys. I must of looked preditory because my husband told the woman he loved her for being open… can blame the guy. So we waited about 15 minutes and made our way to the wings that dreams are made of. I have other places I like just as much, but only Wise Guys were open late to assist me in stuffing my gullet. The staff was great and our wings were soooo good. So thank you Wise Guys pizzeria for Making one girls dreams for late night wings possible! BTW, I went at those wings like a zombie to fresh prey… wwwwwwwwiiinnnggssssss! :o)

While I may not call these the best wings in buffalo, they are really good. I will say they are the best late night wings around. Their wings are HUGE. I was also surprised at the«blue cheese». It really tasted like a mix of blue cheese and ranch dressing, which was unexpected and should be as advertised as such, but was definitely not unpleasant. I will order from here again, especially when my wife has a late night craving for wings.

My favorite part about their pizza is the sauce. It’s got an excellent sweetness to it, my favorite in all of Buffalo. They’re open late and deliver late which is baller! However, I’m docking them one star because when they say«your pizza will arrive in 45 minute to an hour» it typically shows up in two hours. They take ridiculously long to deliver food! It’s definitely worth it once it shows up though.

Outstanding cheese and pepperoni pizza takeout for a great price. Crust is slightly crispy and sauce is traditional with mild zip. Enjoy.

Zips-Wiseguys most redeeming value is the fact that it’s open late. Nothing else about it stands out. The food is average quality, I’ve had a chicken finger meal which was decent. I’ve gotten the fried dough which was a large quantity but again, only decent. The service at Wiseguys is the biggest downside. I’ve called, been put on hold, and had my call ended more than once. Everyone who has taken my order has been rude and exasperated, with the exception of a younger guy I got the fried dough from very late at night. In short, Wiseguys gets away with sub-par food and service because it’s open later than anywhere else.

If you’re not a drunk teenager don’t go here. Tried to get a late pizza, they told me 45 minutes to an hour. After an hour, they called to «make sure they had the right credit card info.» Then after 2 hours I called them they said they were very sorry it will be there soon and it will be hot. It got there 15 minutes after the call and was cold. When I told them it was cold they said they could make another one but we would have to give them the other one back. They also said there was nothing they could do about the wings. They charged us $ 40 for the pizza and wings which I’m assuming meant they did delivery AND tip gratuity on there as well. We were A HALFMILEAWAY. Overpriced, terrible quality and you can’t trust them. The only catch is the hours but I don’t eat late much anymore, you can bet I won’t be back

Came back a second time to this establishment, walked inside and ordered three subs, more fried dough bites(yummy goodness) and a steak taco to go. I was told 30 minutes. Food was ready 30 minutes later so I went home and got comfortable as there is no seating in this pizzeria. The Steak Taco was decent, not much lettuce and tomato but a nice portion size of steak and it was tasty enough(medium sauce wasn’t too runny — that made me happy). Cheeseburger sub was about as good as it gets. I didn’t taste the Steak Sub we ordered and my nephew didn’t finish it either. This kid normally devours steak subs, 18 year old boys are eating machines. It made me wonder if something was wrong with it, I probably should have tasted it or asked him but I was preoccupied. Sorry. So, I opened the Chicken Parm sub and was extremely disappointed. The entire side of the sub roll was burnt and I wasn’t in the mood to call and complain or drive back there so I just took the chicken out and toasted a few slices of wheat toast in my kitchen. The chicken was good, nothing to rave about. I just have to say, no chef/cook should ever let a burnt sub roll leave their place of business looking like that! You never know if the buyer reviews business on Unilocal or not! After that disappointment I thought to myself I’m not sure I will ever give them another chance considering there are plenty of local pizzerias in the area but I still have not tried their pizza and wings. Sooooo, I guess I shall return sometime in the future to try the pizza and wings and give them a proper review since it is a pizzeria, gotta try the pizza and wings! Hopefully they«WOW» me, I wanna be Wow’d, I heart pizza and wings!!!

Ordered a ham sub with no tomato or onion it came with both, ordered steak and sausage hoagie that was literally soaking wet. Not edible. Asked for ranch and ketchup got neither. The girl who took the order on the phone literally told the other staff that she was«just trying to get off the phone, I didn’t get her name»

All they do is raise their prices… but not the quality… and they are still paying minimum wage to people who could care less about their job. We used to order from here monthly, but $ 20 for a cheese and pepperoni pizza? I’ll pass.

Wise Guys should be renamed Wide Guys because if you eat here, you will end up wider than you are tall. Or «Whiny Guys» because, well, guys are whiny. Aren’t they? So yes, this food is bad for you. But omg so good. Forget Duff’s. Forget Anchor Bar. Wise Guys = WNY’s Best Chicken Wings. My favourite Wingeria in the world. What to get: Medium Wings extra saucy, Char-BQ wings, Eppy Roll, Hoagie, Slice of Pizza, Calzone, Fried Dough. What else is good: Everything. Open until 3am every single night. $ 1 off wings on Mondays. It’s filthy(not in a sexual way unfortunately), nowhere to sit, and service is really iffy. But it’s so, so worth it. You’ve found Wingeria paradise. It would be a crime — a federal crime — to not try Wise Guys. And yet, it was so underrated that I had to add it to Unilocal myself a couple of years back. The only pizza better is Imperial. The only wings better are: none! Best wings I’ve had anywhere. Medium Buffalo and Char-BQ are the ones to go for.(Has orgasm). Joint best(and greasiest, and perhaps most overpriced) hoagies I have ever had. Eppy Rolls(Zip’s invention) are a gift from heaven to mortals. Cheap too. Filling. Try one. Good subs. Calzones? Cheese and pep Calzone — perfection. That ticks a lot of boxes doesn’t it. And while the Cheese and Pepperoni slice is orgasmic and one of the best I’ve ever had, their Steak Pizza is double orgasmic, if there is such a concept(yes there is). A word of warning, it’s not always perfect. Sometimes it doesn’t live up to its high standards. Also, you have to know what to get and how to order it. If you get a slice, make sure it hasn’t been sitting around for hours, always ask them to warm it up for you first. That is vital. Also, the place is filthy, there’s nowhere to sit, and if there was you wouldn’t want to. And the service is often bad. You may get overcharged if you’re not careful. Keep an eye on that. They don’t do receipts very well here. Sometimes they get mad and yell at each other. But they are quintessentially Buffalonian in the best way possible. You have been warned. The Buffalo wings(order them medium) are the best you’ll find in the city(tied with Imperial). Alternatively, the Charbroiled BBQ wings are pure perfection even if you don’t like that style — they are a must-try, smoky, crunchy, gooey, dreamy. Ask for them extra-charbroiled maybe. I’d drive hours for these wings OR this pizza OR the eppy roll. It’s a miracle they are all in the same run-down dirty building. Friends have told me the BBQ is «too sweet» and the wings«not charred enough», but whenever I’ve had them it’s been perfect and very charred. I don’t usually like sweet sauce, but I love these and I don’t think it’s too sweet. Try it. As I said before, get the wings extra saucy in case they are dry(sometimes they are very saucy anyway), and an extra sauce too in case they forget your instructions. If they do turn up dry, make sure they are in the foil, and pour the extra medium sauce all over them. Then cover them with the foil so they are nice and wrapped up. Close the box. Shake it violently. Side to side, up and down, all around. Get them good and saucy like my gf. Also the wings are called«jumbo wings» and they actually are huge, so that slightly justifies the price, but given how delicious they are, the price is irrelevant. I know«big», so I speak from experience.(Looks down). Let’s talk more about the Eppy Roll. It’s one of the most heavenly, doughy, juicy, steaming, filling, greasy, heavenly, orgasmic pieces of perfection you will ever find. Make sure you get it with the peppers inside it. It also has sausage and tons of delicious juicy unreal dough and saucy goodness and delicious melty cheese… the Calzone is similar, but with Cheese/Pep. The Steak Hoagie is the greasiest but one of the best I’ve ever had. Always eat your food from here piping hot. It’s the only way. If you order it and they say 30 mins, be there in 15. If they say 20 mins, be there in 10. It’s just not worth the risk of having them not be hot. That’s how vital it is. Trust me. A further miracle is that Wise Guys is open until 3am every night of the week. Usually if a place is open later than its rivals(most Buffalo Pizzerias close between 9pm and 1am at night), it is in some ways inferior. Wise Guys is an exception. Then there’s the value for money. One slice will fill you up at $ 2.25. An Eppy Roll could fill two people: $ 5.50. The wings are pricier, at $ 8 or $ 9 for 10, but I can’t emphasize enough just how worth it they are. If you come on Monday, you get $ 1 off your wings. They also have amazing Fried Dough for dessert, and their $ 5 order can literally feed 10 people, containing dozens of fried dough balls. Insanely bad for you — but so good. Very, very bad for you. My favourite Pizzeria and Wing-eria in the world. Their food makes me want to have sex… mmmm. I think this is the longest review I’ve ever written. But then you like them long, don’t you?

I didn’t like the vibe here. I stopped in and ordered a plain cheese slice to go. After being inside I decided I didn’t want to eat it. My husband happily took it off my hands and said it was quite good. So I should note, the pizza may be quite good. Something about the workers and the inside though, left me untrusting of the food…

Kind of slow, some of the people were very nice, some were a little rude. Wasn’t the best calzone I’ve had. A bit over cooked and very plain.

Came in here to try their wings based on the recommendation of a dear friend. There is no place to sit down here, it’s take-out/delivery only, so be aware. The wings themselves get praise for using higher quality meat. The chicken was better than the leftover drumsticks and wings you’re used to at some other joints and they are a nice size. The BBQ Pit use a very sweet sauce, so if that’s your thing; you may enjoy it, but La Nova wings are still king for me. The hot wings also used a sweet sauce, but I don’t think they kept either of them on the grill long enough for the smokey charred taste. I think the wings are solid. If I lived nearby, I would definitely prefer these. They are still tastier than Duff’s, IMHO. tl;dr — Wings are quality. Sauce is a bit sweet. Could use more time on the grill from the BBQ. Take out only.

So, I’m driving home from Weight Watchers & feeling pretty smug because I had dropped some more tonnage, when I catch the red light @ Hertel & Colvin. The next thing I knew, I was in Zips ordering a slice(C/P $ 3.00). I was offered a 2nd slice for free from a center tray pizza(an unclaimed order). yes, best pizza in town, 2 for 1 tonight, and WORTHEVERYPOINT.

Just ordered take out from here and it was pretty good but not the best I’ve had. We got a large pepperoni pizza and twenty wings($ 35 after tax). The pizza was good, it was perfectly cooked. I love the in house cut pepperoni but the sauce was a little sweet for my liking but was still tasty. The wings were plump and juicy, hence why they call them jumbo wings. They weren’t skimpy and dried out like a lot of places. Now I did order my wings suicidal because I love me some heat but they just weren’t there. Great flavor but shouldn’t be called suicidal. One thing I really don’t like is the kind of blue cheese they serve. They add to many extra flavors in that don’t really mix well. I get that a lot of people do like it like that but personally I like the original plain blue cheese, tastes great and doesn’t really mask the taste of what your eating it with. Besides seeing the kitchen when I picked it up, which is just not the cleanest, but what are you gonna do, everything was still enjoyable. I will return again.

I came back again after the recent pizza thread and all the shoutouts for this place. I came the first time because of Unilocal reviews too. The first time I decided it must have been a fluke and I went on a «bad day». My cheese slice was actually fine at the moment, but it sat uncomfortably in my stomach for what felt like the next day. The second time I went was because someone was«back in buffalo» for a wedding and wanted to hit this spot along the way. Ok, fine. We had pizza and those wings you all love too. I chalked it up to another«bad day». The wings were just not hot and had very little meat on them. Now I’m no wing expert so maybe that’s how they should be. But the pepperoni pizza that time was VERY greasy, and I get that the pepperoni adds that grease. But this was beyond. The third, perhaps final, time was today. Slice of pepperoni. Edible. But nowhere close to Chucks or Lovejoy for me. And when I was there the employees were talking about«is the grease/oil in the fryer old enough to clean out?» Yep. That was the convo happening. Yuck. Makes me wonder a few things. Don’t you have any general«rules» as in «clean the fryers daily» or «clean after xx wings have been made» or anything that looks like a guideline other than the«winging it» that seems to be happening? I will say the employee who helped me was pleasant and the slices they serve are generous. For $ 3 they should be, and they are. Next time one of you fans goes and wants company let me know, maybe I’m just not there at the right time or with the right people. Id love to give more stars.

I’m not really a huge pizza fan(which is almost sacrilegious to say in Buffalo) but my best friend and I were hungry, she said their pizza was amazing, and I trust her judgment. Our other friend was getting out of work and he offered to pick up the pizza on his way over. She called right before he left(he works in Getzville) and when he got there, they told him it would still be a 25 minute wait. I didn’t check Unilocal before, but now that I have, I can certainly attest that everyone who has a problem with wait time is absolutely correct. She assured me that it would be worth it, and it was. We got a large BBQ chicken pizza with extra sides of blue cheese. They didn’t skimp on the blue cheese, which I appreciate, and it was amazingly delicious. Please, I beg you to try it… this is life-changing pizza. Just be sure to order before you’re hungry so you don’t become a ravenous, wild animal while you inevitably wait for two hours.

This review has been edited 3 times, I only state that because it goes from angry, to slightly less angry, to delighted! Definitely try this place if you haven’t been, but pick it up to stay away from any confusion! ;) Ordered delivery at 4:20, they said an hour, the delivery guy calls me at 5:15 saying he’s lost, I give him my address again and ask him to call me if he still can’t find us. 6:00 I call the store because he’s still not here and the girl assures me he’s on his way, they just gave him my correct address(originally sent him the opposite way) and the food shouldddd still be hot. I live less than 10 minutes from the store, I should have just picked it up. It’s 6:10 now. I want my pizza! Lol will edit if my pizza ever arrives! 6:30– Wiseguys calls me and says the driver got pulled over, so they’ll remake my food(since I was previously worried about it being cold) and send a different driver once he gets there. They’re throwing in a 2-liter for the trouble. Still have to wait at least more 35 minutes. The girl was super friendly, and I know it’s not their fault, just a misunderstanding in the first place. Adding an extra star for that, will re-edit once my food actually arrives… This is what I get for being lazy and selfishly not wanting to cook! Ok! So my pizza arrived at 7pm… and it was piping hot and oh my goodness, delicious! Worth the wait! Haha it’s my first time trying this place and the pizza is great. I’m so happy I didn’t cancel my order, the delivery guy was apologetic. :) I will be ordering again… but picking it up for sure! Hahaha

As I approached wise guys it reminded me of what I lost in my area. Old fashioned no thrills pick up and go. Everyone now a days try’s to sell you extras and to «keep you their» here at wise guys there’s no TVs no music and no tables just a register. I remember almost every local pizzeria being this way! Wise guys don’t lose this! Everybody’s looking at making an extra buck while selling their pizzas but they lost focus on how to make them by selling out like this! Ok on with the review. The pizza ranks 5th in my top 5WNY pizzas without question. You can taste the quality in the dough terrific so much so that only Leonardis is fresher. Sauce is great! The toppings are tasty, although I like the grease cup pep better, here it’s a little thicker but hey if the pie itself is good I really don’t care. A solid flavorful pie! Yum! I’d certainly go back when I’m visiting a local bar in the area, I wish they where closer to home. So give them a try! 1) Imperial pizza(Buffalo) 2) Leonardis(Amherst) 3) Bella(Hamburg) 4) Bobs Poplar(Cheektowaga) 5) Zips Wise Guys(North Buffalo)
