Been coming to Sugar Hill Diner for several years. Food is good and reasonably priced. Wait staff is helpful and willing to answer any question you may have. The few times our food wasn’t to our satisfaction, they are always willing to make it right. Would highly recommend you give them a try.

I have been here a few times will not go back. The food used to be better. We ordered the chicken fried steak few days ago. It is 2 frozen small patties for $ 13. Frozen? How hard is it to cook a chicken fried steak fresh? They were hard and not good. Will not return.

It was eh. Nothing special for sure except the wait staff was pretty friendly and we had good service. Food tasted like it was made from frozen. Lasagna was hot on the outside but cool on the inside. Not cold but not warm. Chicken parm tasted eh. I’m thinking from pictures breakfast would have been a better time to visit.

We actually gave this place a second chance, and it was just as terrible as the first. It is a very average establishment, with poor service, and mediocre quality food. Meals all taste the same, and food is never fresh or hot. My guess is they microwave a huge portion of the food they serve. I most certainly would not eat here again. Also, cleanliness is highly lacking. The booths and tables were dirty and sticky both times and the rag we saw them use to wipe down a table looked absolutely disgusting… Our guess is they used same rage the entire day long.

Meh. For a diner, this place is only okay. Definitely overrated and I can’t believe how busy this place is – there’s always a wait. The Greek dishes don’t taste very Greek and are pretty bland. Their gyro meat is shipped in frozen; it is not made or cut in-house, as only a true diner would do. I come from the land of diners; the Midwest. Coney Islands, Greek restaurants open 24/7, and I wasn’t particularly wowed by this place. We went once and didn’t go back. Not worth the wait and the food quality isn’t great.

My wife and I figured we would take the family here for her birthday and boy do we regret it. First off the food is way overpriced, under seasoned and very very bland. My wife had the Chicken Parm and she hated it. My daughter and I had the country fried steak and it was BLAND! IHOP has better food. I can say this much that was the first time eating there and the last.

I’ve eaten here four times. The first was awful. The second and third times were a little better and this last time was back to being awful. There won’t be a fifth. Service today was SLOOOOW. Really slow. Not the end of the world if the foods good but… Ordered a burger med rare and not only was the Texas burger missing BBQ sauce, it was burnt to hell and back. Another burger was ordered by my friend medium and it was just cooked to hell. It didn’t make it back. Two other dishes at the table, both country fried steak turned in lack luster performances as well. My buddy choked his burger down and I sent mine back and told them to bring me a salmon wrap because I thought it would be quick. No such luck. By the time it got out to me everyone had finished so I just told them to box it up. The deal breaker? They didn’t comp the burger/hockey puck. If you read this and STILL choose to go, do yourself a favor and pick a breakfast dish.

This was one of the worst experiences ever. All we ordered was the soup & sandwich combo & both were made incorrectly. My side had a hair in it & the waiter just said sorry & didn’t take it off the bill. No manager to talk to. Food poor, waiter worse

The food is plentiful and flavorful. I’m not sure how fresh the ingredients are(it seems like maybe the foods were froze or prepared). However, the service is friendly and the food does taste good, so it’ll stay on my list of places to recommend to friends looking for that type of food.

Very comfortable and welcoming restaurant. Seated right away, fast and friendly waitress, Macy. I can always tell how goid a place is by their corned beef hash and theirs is delicious! Highly recommend.

Awesome service, first and foremost. i came here with a large party of ladies for a Christmas dinner. there were more than 20 of us so I’m not going to be too hard on the food and Im going to rave about the service. Cee Cee was awesome! She kept us filled up from sit down drinks to dessert! We had 5 of the app samplers and all were good. Calamari was very fishy(and permatrated the room) but baked potato and chicken tenders were great! Next our entrees. I had the open faced roast beef and it was tasty but only luke warm(large party, remember). My sister had the Gryo plate which was good but not recommended as this isn’t a Greek restaurant after all! Mom had the fish and chips which looked well cooked and she liked but since I don’t eat fish I couldn’t comment on. Overall I give it 4 ½ stars and look forward to coming back with a smaller party that doesnt overwhelm the kitchen!

Our favorite go to restaurant in the area. Great place to go for good service and down-home cooking with a great variety of choices. Serves breakfast all day long and very competitive prices. Ask to be seated in Dixie’s section at night or Steven in the morning.

Some things are great here and some not. I love the salads and deserts! The gyro platter… not so much… salmon is always good, steaks pretty good, etc.

What a cool place. Nice atmosphere, full bar, great food selection. My mom comes here often with her friends and their cakes are to die for. Just bought a coconut cake there for my moms 80th birthday and its exactly what she wanted. Absolutely huge and worth the $$. Good southern food, greens, chops and steaks, good service. Used to be a Po Folks and I never went thinking it was just a country bar but this is booths, great lighting and atmosphere. Good place to try out if in town.

Diner At Sugar Hill has something for everyone on their menu. You will NOT leave hungry. You will NOT be disappointed with the food or the service. The cuisine ranges from breakfast favorites like a PHENOMENAL french toast & eggs benidict, lunch favorites like an open face reuben grill that slaps any NYC deli owner in the face & even a few greek choices like an ungodly good greek salad & gyro plate, & for us meat-eaters at dinner, an 12oz ribeye that melts like chocolate in your mouth & a blue cheese burger that will cause a momentary lapse of culinary control. SEVERAL different types of cuisine from which to choose & nothing has ever tasted less than heavenly… not to mention the HUGE dessert counter at the front & fully stocked bar with good beers on tap. Heck, my two«picky eater» kids even beg to eat there. :) Can’t say enough good things about the staff. Professional, friendly & they always seem like they actually like working there… & it shows.

The last time I ate here it was a hot mess. The waitress was all over the place and then she brought the wrong bill. When I pointed this out to my husband, she tried to tell us that the one she presented was actually less than what we ordered. I refused to sign her ticket, pointed out that she was over– charging us and demanded a correction. She was simply too lazy to correct the ticket and if I had not said anything, she would have just rung up an incorrect ticket. Can you say unprofessional and unethical? Although I used to enjoy going here on my way to the mall, I probably won’t be returning due to this incident and also the unfavorable health inspection score they recently received. So sad! Unfortunately, the bad service overshadowed the meal.

I am super sad that the hype I heard about their French toast wasn’t up to par. It was good, but not that thrilling and wowing experience I wanted or expected. I definitely have to agree with other Unilocalers that the inside was a tad dark. It felt like a gentlemen’s bar with the dark wood inside. It definitely wasn’t welcoming as it could be. A very minor con though. The hostess was super dry as she directed us to our seats. The waitress was okay. She did pass by to check on us, but really didn’t ask if we needed anything. I didn’t care either way, but I did see that my friend’s water glass could have used some filing up since we were catching up after our meal. Parking was okay. There are here and there spaces that became available as people left this past(and windy) Saturday around 1PM.
