I was in the jc penny studio recenty, having my pics done with my son. I assume the photographer was a trainee, as there was a lady there called Danise who was quite rude to her, while teaching her stuff. Just wanted to write that the person who took my pics, was very polite and friendly, but if she is treated in the manner that I saw, I would think twice before I go there again in case, I get Danise.

Ordered a sofa from J C Penney in July, delivered on September 4, called customer service on September 6th, the fabric where I sat for two days was discolored and would not brush out. I called customer service three times and only received a call back when I posted a photo on the J C Penney Facebook page. I was informed that since the sofa was special order the fabric had to be inspected by a separate company and declared defective before the sofa could be returned. An appointment was set for 10÷02÷15. The company called at 4:50 on 10÷02÷15, cancelled and reset an appointment for 10÷13÷15. In the meantime the fabric has begun to wrinkle and the discolorations have grown. This sofa is terrible, do not buy the Top Hat material. I am so disappointed in J C Penney.

Went in there only to use my rewards. The lady said oh yea i put your rewards on there. No where on receipt did it say that. Went to another cashier who tried to help and ended up returning somethin and giving me $ 10 back on my card. Went back later for my bf to find a shirt. And a diff cashier said oh yea they changed the rewards so they dont pop up. We have to look them up. Ill look it up for you. Yea u have one. Oh really vc the first girl told me she put them both on there. Guess she was too lazy or needs to be retrained on the cashier. That combined with the lines that r sooo long it makes you not want to go.

WORTHCONSIDERATION I generally don’t shop at JC Penney,(except for the ladies button up shirts in beautiful, bold colors). but I really like coming into this store. It is larger than the other locations in the area so you just have more options and greater selections. It is really easy to get what you need and get out without having to stand in long lines. I really appreciate the men’s department because they don’t just carry the standard JC Penney brand items, but they also carry better brands like Joseph Abboud. I have found store brands,(men’s and misses), to be of poor quality, shrinking when washed and just not wearing well at all. This is the only location where I am able to get quality items for my spouse and son. Don’t forget to explore the housewares and bedding departments as they do have great holiday sale and some nice bedding selections,(I prefer all cotton, coordinated pieces and lots of fluff). The bedding can be very overpriced but very affordable when they have a really good sale.

I just purchased a mattress from JC Penneys at the mall of Georgia my customer service specialist Karen Russo was very helpful and knowledgeable she did not push or pressure me into something I did not want I was very specific about the type of mattress that I wanted and she assisted me to get me just what I needed at the price I wanted to pay I often feel when making furniture purchases that Its like buying a car you feel pressured and uncomfortable she made the experience very nice the service was fantastic thank you Karen for such good customer service and not being pushy.

After purchasing clothes at for my 10 y/o, we had to venture to JCP store to do exchanges for different sizes. The cashier Elizabeth was helpful during the process of retuning my items. At first she was going to return the items back to the cc they were purchased on, until I informed her that the items were a gift purchased on a cc I didn’t have. She was not aware of how to return the items to a gift card, so she had to seek help from a manager. The manager came, walked her thru the process and left. I was then ready to repurchase items for my daughter in the correct sizes. While in the Junior’s dept, I was greeted by a young lady who assisted me with picking item outs. We spent maybe an hour or two in the store as my daughter loves to shop but hates to try things on. With all my kids in tow(10, 6&10mths) she was very patient as I decided on what would fit my daughter. In the end we ended up getting 2 pairs of jeans, 2 shirts, a cute scarf and belt. With money left over on the gc I picked up an outfit for my 6y/o. I also saved 15% off my purchases with a scratch off discount card given to me at the register. I love to shop at JCP when there’s a good selection of clothes. Next up, Christmas shopping…

I was out shopping at the JC Pennys Mall of Georgia and I noticed they had a nice 25% discount on clearance. Plus additional $ 10.00 off of $ 25.00. I had recently purchased so much for my kids. I noticed the cashier taking forever as they always do. They just chit chat while they are working. They are always rude and impatient. They are the slowest clothing store I have ever been to for purchases and returns. Barry is a manager there that works mostly at night. He is a very unfriendly and rude manager. Never says hello. His not friendly at all. Angela was also working that night. She just stood there peering at me with and unfriendly look. They hate when people do returns. Poor service as usual. Barry is not a good manager. Actually they really don’t have good service at all at this store. I’ve been to there other stores. They also have minor issues. I don’t know who trains there customer service. But they don’t do enough training at there stores. I actually ran into and old employee from this store. She stated she disliked working at Penny’s Mall of Georgia. She seems very happy now. It seems like all the well trained and good employees have quit. Makes you wonder why. Always a long line as usual. Because they only have two registers. How ridiculous. Customers looking upset because of the long lines. The cashiers have no people skills. But I noticed the cashiers doing returns and allowing customers to repurchase prior purchases with the 25% off discount and the $ 10.00 as many times as there purchase added up to $ 25.00 this past weekend. I am aware the coupons states that prior adjustments are not allowed on prior returns. But I notice the cashiers do it all the time. I asked Brenda a lead if this was allowed she stated yes. The cashier Sicily also asked her if it was allowed and she stated yes that would be fine. So the next night I came in after noticing several people doing adjustments the day before. And I was going to also do a few adjustments on some items I previously purchased for my family. And I also noticed other adjustments being done this night as well. I noticed Sierra doing one as I was waiting in line. But I was waited on by another cashier Kathy because Sierra was with another customer. After I told the cashier what I wanted to do. And after she already returned my items. She called Barry over and he told me adjustments are not allowed on prior purchases. But its the way he told me. He was rude and cold and very stern and unfriendly. He was peering at me with a mean look. I would have never done this transaction had the girl told me from the beginning of my transactions. But she had already returned my items and never said nothing to me about it. Until I wanted to repurchase the items with the discount. So I lost money on this purchase. Because some items were not on sale now. And because the manager refused to allow me to do it. Even though I was told by Brenda the prior day I could. And even though the other cashier had been doing adjustments almost the entire time I was standing there. And the cashier that waited on me was very rude and unfriendly. She called Barry over and he said the coupon states no adjustments. I told him I just witnessed several customers who had adjustments to there prior purchases. And I stated I asked a lead and they stated it would be fine. Barry just got in my face with the coupon and showed me with a tone in his voice. And stated that the coupon states no adjustments on prior purchases. But it was allowed the entire time I was in the store. So now I’m out money because I was told by Brenda I could do the adjustments. No one in this store is ever on the same page. When you call in for help no one knows what the answers are to your questions. I told Barry that I would call corporate about what happened. He circled the coupon were it stated the information and he gave me the phone number and pushed it in my face. He and Angela peered at me the entire time my transaction was being finished. I understand the point of the coupon. But Barry bullied me and glared at me in front of all the customers. Was that necessary. He was so rude about the situation. There is always drama at this store. They always make mistakes on returns and purchases. I shouldn’t have to drive 30 minutes out of my way to shop at another Penny’s. And I told him after his display of rudeness. I will bring back every item I’ve ever purchased at this store. Barry stated okay. All Barry had to do is be nice. Not jump down my throat and make a scene in front of the customers. What a jerk. But watch the prices and the receipts. I have lost money with purchases and returns at this store. The cashiers are to stressed out over long lines. And the Managers just walk around and do nothing to help the cashiers. Isn’t that there job to promote good customer service skills. Not at this store. This is the worst store in Gwinnett County

To be honest, I’ve probably only shopped at a total of three JCPenney stores in my life. When I think of shopping, it definitely isn’t the first department store that comes to mind. However, the main reason why I had frequented this particular JCPenney is its location right by a covered parking lot. It’s super difficult to find a parking spot here, but it’s SO worth it on super hot or rainy days. As previously mentioned, I haven’t been to many other JCP stores, so I can’t really say whether it’s better or worse than any other. What I can and will say is that this JCP is usually clean and well-organized, even on busy days. Aside from its awesome location by the covered parking lot, this JCP is great because it offers the following services: — Optical — Portrait Studio — Salon Best of all, they have their very own Sephora in the store! Although there is a full Sephora store in the Mall of Georgia, this one is more conveniently located. Sweet! Additionally, the employees at the JCP Sephora have always been super friendly to me and my sisters. =) I rarely buy clothes at JCP, mainly because I’m hopelessly devoted to Macy’s, but I do recall finding a reasonably-priced, decent-quality cocktail dress for a holiday party. JCP clothing and merchandise is generally lower quality than more«upscale» department stores, but I guess(for the most part) their prices reflect this. Overall, this JCPenney gets 4 stars for its great location, clean/organized store environment, decent merchandise/clothing, and mini Sephora store. If you’re passing through, you may find something you like among the random gift items scattered throughout the store. Although I don’t live in Buford anymore, I’m sure I’d come back to this JCP if I were to drive up to shop at the Mall of Georgia. [Review 268 of 366]
