I was skeptical going inside because it seemed like there was no body inside. None the less the hubby and I walked in and was pleasantly surprised. Great service. Great food! A nice ambiance is a plus

The worst service ever. The waitress left my meal sitting on the counter till I asked for it. She forgot the dish for the sauce and forgot the condiments for the phở.

Sorry to put two stars but they earned them. My party of 4 had to wait various amounts of time until everyone was served. One rice dish came quickly, while a seafood soup came nearly 17 minutes later. Thanks for that guys. The combination rice dish came with the(now famous in other reviews) 3 shrimp.(It seems 3 is the number of shrimp you always get, no matter what.) The shrimp are always served with tails on. Not so great to have to reach into my meal and remove the tails before eating. The soup folks were particularly miffed. In this way, the limit of 3 shrimp was a merciful reprieve from having to de-tail tons of shrimp. Also I noticed that the two people I observed with noodle soups had to do the same with their shrimp. Also any crab you get is fake.(3 pieces here too) 3 squid as well. 3 is a magic number here I think. Finally, the people with soup had to spend what I felt was an unusual amount of time separating the large ball of noodles from itself to avoid having a solid mass of them in the bowl. Like a few others here, I’ll take the trip into town to get better in the future. Sorry guys, but if I don’t say anything, I have no chance of you doing it better and creating a situation where I don’t have to drive into town.

This restaurant has changed owners and has been renovated a few times. Now it’s a Vietnamese restaurant with most of the classic viet dishes. I waited till I had ordered a few items before writing the review. The service and staff is great but the food has been decent at best. I had been craving congee for forever & I finally satisfied that craving here! It was very flavorful but a bit runny and soup like in my opinion. I prefer it to be thicker. The phở is alright; while it’s not bad, it definitely doesn’t have that hearty, rich flavor that phở needs. It tastes like regular brothy beef soup. I recently had the vermicelli noodles & was disappointed. I got the shrimp with chicken option, which I expected to be mainly shrimp with some chicken on the side. But it was all chicken with THREE pieces of shrimp &WAY too much lettuce. Also, the menu has mostly pork options even though other Viet restaurants I’ve been to have a variety. Example, they do not have tofu banh mi or beef vermicelli noodles. Overall, it’s an ok place but I honestly wouldn’t mind driving into Atlanta for better!

The place had a nice modern feel. Clean restaurant. Great service. Had the quail appetizer which was good yet it was over cooked. Need to work on that a bit. Everything else was very good. Looking forward to trying out other items when I return.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is exactly what the Mall of GA area needed. Took my niece who has never experienced Viet-cuisine. She loved it. I had phở and my niece had a noodle bowl. Spot on. Can’t wait to try more on the menu. To be continued…

I got bun bo hue(spicy noodle soup). Usually Vietnamese restaurants around here are a mixture of multiple Asian cuisines. However, it was strictly Vietnamese. I haven’t had bun bo hue in years. It was delicious and spicy. The service was alright. At first when we were seated they came around frequently to see if we were ready to order. They did come by and refill our drinks. Near the middle to the end of the meal they stopped checking on us because they appeared to be eating their lunch. The ambiance was nice, clean and modern.

I love the modern interior and I’m definitely going back. The menu is laminated and double sided so it’s pretty simple. They offer many things which I have yet to try. The day I went, I ordered a P1 medium and it came out relatively quickly. The broth is pretty good! It was good enough for me to eat without having to add any seasonings except for the veggies and some lemon juice and black pepper.

First time trying out Viet Taste. Beautiful restaurant and nice tv screen and great customer service. I ordered the house sandwich Bahn Mi Dac Biet special and made up a Phở combination — shrimp and well done beef to go. Oh my! The sandwich was soooo good but whew, go easy on the sliced jalapenos! The soup was prepared in take out container with noodles, shrimp, beef slices, sprout, jalapenos, cilantro leaves, and thin onions and a cup of broth. Wow! It was so good! My only complaint is that I was given raw meat, not well done as I requested although you can get it raw form. Waitress did repeat it correctly so I am guessing preparer made a mistake so I had to cook it in skillet. I do like raw beef thin slices in carpaccio, but asked for well done. Docked one star but overall it is very good food. Will definitely come back again.

I’m from North Carolina and stopped by Viet Taste because of the reviews. The phở broth is good but incomparable to other phở restaurants in NC. The spring rolls were pretty good as well and their Vietnamese subs were pretty nice to have. This place is affordable and great to have near by since the Mall of Georgia is right there as well. I came with a big group and luckily, we got there before it started getting busy. They could use a few more staff when situation like this occurs. Overall, the best experience was seeing their attractive employees. :)

I’ve been here for lunch a couple times now and enjoyed both visits. The food is tasty and fresh. Nice atmosphere too, it’s decorated nicely yet still simple. Service is good, the same very polite girl was waiting on tables both times I’ve been. * Chicken Satay Appetizer– You get four skewers for $ 4.95. I’m always weary of ordering chicken because it often comes out dry, but that was not the case here. It was flavorful, tender, and juicy. I liked the peanut sauce, too, and I haven’t been a big fan of most peanut sauces I’ve tried. This is a solid choice for an appetizer. I’m actually a little surprised at how much I liked it! * Grilled Pork, Shrimp, and Eggroll Vermicelli Bowl — $ 9.25. Vermicelli rice noodles served with sliced cucumbers, carrots, bean sprouts, chopped romaine lettuce, and topped with grilled pork, shrimp, and a few cut up eggrolls, and chopped peanuts. Mmmm. The grilled pork was REALLY yummy in this dish! The fish sauce served with it wasn’t lacking either. * Seafood Phở– All of their phở is the same price, regardless of the type you order: Small is $ 7.95, Medium $ 8.95, and Large $ 9.95. The broth was pretty tasty in my seafood phở! While I really like the food, I’m not a big fan of their drinks. I’ve tried their Thai Milk Tea and Vietnamese Ice Coffee and both tasted really watered down. I’d still come back for the food though!

We tried Viet Taste for the first time last night and will definitely go back. The food was fresh and tasty, our waitress was attentive and friendly, and their prices are affordable. I had the Phở with beef, and my husband had the noodles with pork sausage and egg rolls. Delicious.

Great place for dining. The phở was the best ever as well as spring rolls and mango bubble tea. Customer service was stellar, plus they added a free egg roll just for being a customer. I will be back. Clean place with stylish décor!

This Vietnamese restaurant replaced another one(Saigon Flavors). There’s been a lot of renovations to the interior — much more up-to-date, sleek and modern and they offer a bigger variety of Vietnamese food. Viet Taste’s menu is ALL Vietnamese food(minus the chicken satay, which is more Thai in my opinion) in comparison to Saigon Flavors, which offered a lot more Thai options. I like the fact that these guys concentrate on only Vietnamese restaurant and is not a fusion place. I came by with some friends because I was feeling under the weather and wanted some phở. To my surprise, I found that they offer chao(which is a watery rice porridge and is the ultimate Vietnamese comfort food, especially when you’re sick). Needless to say, I ordered that over the phở and was pleased with the big portion. Though it did not taste like Mom’s, it was still delicious. Aside from their noodle soups, vermicelli and stir fried noodle dishes, and rice dishes, they offer items that the previous restaurant(and the one down the street) did/do not — chao and banh mi. On this visit, my friends and I agree — the chao and phở were pretty good but the bun bo hue is a little misleading on how spicy it is. They may have toned it down to cater to the general demographic. Well, I’m sure they did, because they excluded some key elements like congealed pig’s blood, which may not sit well with most people who are unfamiliar with this dish. It’s been a while since I’ve had real, authentic, actually spicy bun bo hue from a restaurant. I can’t wait to return to try more food off their menu! By the way, Unilocal currently has a deal for a free egg roll after you check in.

My family walked in and was pleasantly surprised with the renovation of the restaurant. It looks great! The food was just as great! We had the beef and chicken phở’ soup. The flavor of the soup was so yummy! The fresh shrimp/pork spring rolls was packed full and delicious. The menu prices are very reasonable. And the service and staff we fantastic. Smiles, good attitude, very attentive and friendly. Our family is so happy Viet Taste is in Buford and will be in here often!
