Love when I’m out this way because I get to eat fried chicken at Chicken Express: o) Tenders are juicy inside and crispy outside, tea is great, jalapeño poppers are amazing, cream corn nuggets are insanely addicting, I can never decide between the biscuits or the rolls(they’re both fresh and super soft)… and the staff is always extremely friendly. Oh, the chipotle ranch is a great dipping sauce but you have to ask for it.

We get chicken from here once or twice a month. Most of the time, it’s hot and fresh… Hence four star rating. We like eating in and taking it to go. Their tea always tastes great and we love their biscuits.

My go-to place here in Spring Branch. The fast food here definitely leaves a lot to be bargained for, but I’ve had pretty consistently good food here. Delicious chicken strips and rolls. Mashed potatoes are yummy. Tea is my favorite in town. I’ve never had a problem with slow service times, drive through is always fast and the workers are friendly.

Really good big pieces of fried chicken. Sides are tasty, especially butter beans and the yeast rolls are omg delicious.

Great tea and most of the people working there are great. The food is good when it’s fresh, but therein lies the gamble. I dined in today at 2:30 and I would guess the food I was served was actually cooked sometime around 12:30 — 1:00. I ate two fries and half a chicken tender and returned the rest to them. I explained that I wasn’t looking for a refund but the food had been sitting out so long it wasn’t worth eating. There was no apology or comment, nor was any offer made to get a manager for the complaint. I looked behind the counter to the food prep area and noticed huge piles of cooked food waiting under heating lamps while three employees stood around talking. Perhaps they could try cooking smaller portions more frequently. I wouldn’t bother posting this if it was the first time it had happened.

They’ve got Chicken; but Express is not the case. Been here 4 times now and I’ve had it. Last time I even talked to the mgr. I had been waiting at the drive thru 25 mins since ordering. She said they were short handed and backed up. I asked why she couldn’t tell folks that when ordering. Took almost 50 mins total to get food — and it was wrong and I had another 10 mins to wait to get it right. Around me some folks drove off in frustration. For an hour, I could have bought my own chicken and grilled it and not been frustrated.

Not as good as they could be. The chicken and mashed taters were fine but the biscuits were RAW.

Decent service. I mean some fast food restaurants people look like they are stoned cold or something. Not the case with most of the people here. Pretty good chicken. I like the tenders and the regular chicken. It is overall a goo restaurant.

Has really gone downhill. Rancid mashed potatoes, and dry fried chicken. Great sweet tea. I am local and have avoided writing this, but rancid potatoes today(fourth time in three months) and dry chicken is too much. Service is really spotty _nice kids just not trained — incomplete orders 15% of the time.

Chicken Express? Really? Yes, REALLY. This fast food chicken stop is on the edge of Bulverde and is the ONLY place on town to pick-up some very tasty chicken and sides. My personal fav are the chicken strips… mmm, mmm! Not greasy, not salty, not heavy. A light crispy coating wrapped around hot and moist chicken breasts. Dunk ‘em in their proprietary cream gravy and you’re in comfort food heaven! However, I tried the gizzards and they DEFINITELY leave something to be desired. I’d also pass on the corn-on-the-cob. I’m a sweet corn kinda guy and that’s NOT what they offer.

This is by far the best CE we’ve tasted. The one in SA is not anything compared to this location. We will actually drive from SA to get it when there is one in SA on Thousand Oaks but their chicken is bland. Worth the drive! Friendly staff… super clean and always delicious!

It’s fast food. It’s chicken. It’s in bulverde. ‘Nuff said? Ok… And they’re pretty nice folks too.

There isn’t a better place for chicken tenders in a 30 mile radius! Fries are crisp and salty. Sweet tea is amazing, but not for people watching their sugar intake. Catfish is alright. Make sure to mix the spicy serendipity seasoning with the gravy before you dunk the chicken tenders in!

Was planning on getting an order of chicken to go and when we called to make sure they were open they made a comment asking if we were really going to come by?! They made us feel unwelcome because they didn’t want to make a few extra pieces of chicken 30 minutes before closing! So we went to Wendy’s! Food is always good but this locations night manager doesn’t want anyone to bother them 30 minutes before they close! I would have to say they should close earlier if that’s the case!
