This place is adorable! Brought back some childhood memories. Love the old school look. So glad to see Burbank bring a store that reflects it’s small town charm it once was. Love that it’s fully stocked, clean,& even has the soda pop fridge filled with glass bottles sodas. Best place go when you need groceries, but don’t have time to stand in a huge line at the market.

Now called Retro Dairy Mart, but it still stocks Alta Dena products. Nice guy working there, eggs were a little pricey, but i have a bum leg and can’t get in and out of car easily, so it was worth the extra $$ for convenience. Really handy, good business hours.

I Love this place. The nicest people in town. I go here at least 3 times a week. If you have kids in car it is perfect!

oh so convenient! Frank and Trish the owners are cool as hell and the other girl… I can’t remember her name (damn it! how rude) although I should because she calls me by name every time I go in is very sweet and always has a smile on her face. Not sure what the complaining is about on price by previous posters when you don’t even have to get out of your car.

I’ve been living within walking distance from this place for about 12 years now. I only go out of sheer convenience. The place is very small and just tend to carry the basics. A few times that I’ve been in the store, I’ve noticed that inventory is a bit on the low side. There is a large sign on the west side of the business that staes that the store is open 7 days per week 8AM to 9PM. The 7 day a week is correct and the hours of operation are totally off. 6 days per week I drive by this place between 8:15 — 8:30 in the morning and it is rarely open. There have been many a night that I have walked by with my dog at 8:45 PM and it’s already closed. It seems that there has been at least one ownership change in the past 10 years. The old owners stayed true to the posted hours and allowed patrons of the chinese restaurant next door to park on their lot. The current owners no longer allow any restaurant parking and instead allow a a spray painted Chevy van and black trailer to park there and it kind of brings down the area somewhat.

This place rocks! I had no idea that drive through dairy’s existed anymore. I love this place, and the people that work there are totally nice. See you again, very soon.

It Good for pick up Dairy foods from there!

Its fast and easy, heck you don’t even have to get out of your car. If you want something that they don’t have they will order it for you. I love our neighborhood Drive Thru Dairy and the people who work there!

You’ve earned it.
I guess the couple of times I showed up earlier in the morning and the store was still not open after regular business hours had started was just a case of something gone awry. It happens.
But you are so damn close and convenient. Sure, four and a half dollars for Charles Shaw Merlot is a steep mark up, but everything is relative. I once got charged four bucks for a clear plastic CUP of two buck Chuck at an art show downtown. Besides, if you are so hard up for a bottle of wine of this caliber, you reap what you sew.
You got all the essentials. Milk, sodas, beer, [overpriced] wine, M&Ms for when Miss Paradise (soon to be Missus. Save the date!) wants to partake and full tanks of propane for good grillin.
I’m glad I went back.

Growing up in Florida, we would go on a weekly basis to the «vaquita» to pick up milk, bread and for the holidays, egg nog. Here in California, there’s no Farm Stores (the Floridian dairy/​grocery chain) but there’s Altadena Dairy, which is the same concept. It’s a Qwik-​E mart with a pick up window. They have breakfast items like juice and eggs but they also have soda, ice cream and chips.
If you want to avoid the line at Ralphs, this is your best bet.

First of all, this is a DRIVE-​THROUGH dairy and convenience store!
I love this little place! It’s a blast from the past for me since it’s been there my whole life and my Gramma used to take me there for Hostess Snowballs which they’ve always kept on a rack outside the doors with all the other Hostess goodies tempting me as I drive through to stock up on Alta-​Dena milk which is cheaper here than it is at the grocery store.
It’s been under new management for the last few years and I would love to see them restore the old vintage charm of this spot with some fresh paint and a return to more vintage looking signage.
