I signed up for Unilocal JUSTBECAUSE I felt such a strong need to write this review. Fernando is AWESOME. Let me just start with that. He is professional, kind, knowledgeable, friendly, thorough, fair(we went well overtime, partially because I was LATE, and he didn’t charge me extra!), and has a really gentle and comforting manner. He can definitely get in and work on those tough spots(he says he also does Thai Massage) but he tailors it all to your individual needs. Call him now and you won’t be sorry. Now, the details… I decided to go in for something of an emergency massage at around noon today. I google’d some places in the area, and stumbled upon this one. When I called(around noon) Fernando answered the phone and said he could fit me in at 5. Sweet. Done deal. When I arrived, I was a bit skeptical. The building looks a little scary(by Burbank standards, haha) outside. Still, I took a deep breath and went up the stairs. Once inside, I saw this place was ANYTHINGBUTSCARY! =) It’s a teeny little office, but SO cute, clean, nicely decorated. Just fine. =) Second thing that freaked me out… Here I am, a woman alone(no one else was in the office at the moment), and the massage therapist is a dude. But I had a good feeling about it… and I was right. NO need to be afraid here, ladies. Fernando is as professional as they come. You’ll find your modesty, belongings, etc, to all be very safe here. I felt immediately comfortable with him, and I’m not even always that comfy with male massage therapists to begin with. He rocks. The 90 minutes FLEW by, and he gave me lots of useful tips, stretches, and tricks along the way. Before I left, he even let me try out some toys in the office(they have one of those chiropractic tables that holds you upside down) and handed me an ice cold bottle of water. Awesome! I have two disc herniations in my back and Fernando was able to work on areas that would help me, while avoiding things that would hurt. He really knows his anatomy, quite clearly, and was able to talk with me about my back situation in the same terms my orthopedic surgeon has been using. This place is tucked away on a busy-ish part of Buena Vista and very easy to MISS if you’re not looking VERY closely(I got lost for a good 10 minutes, which is why I was late). They do need a bigger sign, for sure. That’s the only down side. Just don’t let looks deceive you. This is definitely a little Burbank gem. =) At just $ 65 an hour, the PERSONALTIMEANDATTENTION you get(along with the great massage!) makes the whole deal well worth it.
