Budget Rent A Car

It can be a little confusing on the rental return as Budget shares a lane with Avis. Maru at the return area is a gem, friendly and polite. It’s a walk to get to the terminal so give yourself an 20 minutes so as not to be rushed.

This location is easily accessible, in the rental car deck next to the Burbank Airport. It was quick, easy, the counter help was pleasant, the price was good and the vehicle selection was decent.
When they told me which car and lot spot my vehicle was located, I went to it, checked it all around, went to the exit gate and was off.
I would suggest to anyone who rents a car to take photos of any scratches or markings, just to CYA.
I’m guessing that most who receive bad service or selection arrive on the weekend. I got there on a Friday morning. No lines, no problems. Quick in and out.

Absolutely the worst experience. I could not find the location (it is actually inside of the airport. The customer service inside of the airport was good, but when you have to call regarding an issue — when I could not find the location or when I picked up the car and it had scuff marks but no one did a walk a around inspection– it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to anyone. I called several times and they «transfer me to the store location» and then I am immediately transferred back to the automatic response which takes me back to the same call service I was just speaking to.
This was a horrid experience and I warn you against it.

Was helped by Jon. Used a rental for two days.
Jon mentioned the Kia Sorento but I stood with a Chevy Impala.
Jon was attentive and we chatted a bit. Had me on my way in no time.
Insurance was a bit higher then other rentals but the car drove like a dream.
Might use them again in the future.

I highly recommend Budget Rent A Car for being fast, efficient, and very good in customer service. I especially liked Janet because she helped me get the car I wanted. I called and told her I wanted to reserve a specific car. I got there and she had the car, clean, and ready. Janet was extremely courteous and provide my bf and I hassle free car rental. She is very professional in customer service and I would tell all my friends to rent a car from her in the future. Other car rentals were rude and incompetent, but Janet was superb!!!

Not a very good place to rent a car unless you have no other option or choice. They have good variety of cars but either not available or already rented when you ask for one. You may try and experience it.

Do not rent from here. TERRIBLE experience. They ripped us off, and at best it was from total incompetence and unprofessionalism. At worst it was pure fraud.
We rented a car from the Burbank Airport and returned it at LAX. The car came with old, dark stains on the front passenger seat, and we commented on the large stains but didn’t really think much more about it. They were busy when we got the car and they failed to do a walk through pointing out prior damages. We bought insurance and never thought about the «inside» damage.
Upon returning the car to LAX, they again failed to do a car check and told us we could leave. A week later we got a $ 75 bill for steam cleaning the stained seat. I’ve called several times and they keep saying in a monotonous tone «Our records show you’re responsible.» What records?! If they kept accurate records the damage would have been billed to whomever actually stained the seat in the first place.
Thank goodness it’s only a $ 75 charge because my credit card company says when it comes to cleaning charges they can charge you whatever they want and it can’t be disputed. Either it’s horrible record keeping and interior cleaning on Budget’s part or it’s potential fraud and they just keep billing customers for the same old stains over and over because they can get away with it.
Neither is an acceptable way to run a business, and we will NEVER rent from Budget again. Their loss, we rent cars a lot, and we’ve told all our friends to avoid them too.

My very first review on Unilocal and I don’t want to go into much detail.
Just stay away from this place, these guys are criminals.
Criminals because they sent me a bill for damages. No specifics, just a letter asking for $ 500 and how to transfer the money. What a joke. And of course you can’t reach their claim department to get clarification, they keep you in a recording line for 60 minutes and then disconnect the call. Most likely they got the flow down and know how to get their money for bogus damages.
Really the entire experience was a joke. Receiving that letter was just too much and I had to rate these clowns.
You’ve been warned. Go elsewhere
And if you do have to go here make absolutely sure you check the car for prior damages. I was held there for 50 minutes in the office, treated poorly by some monkey interns on their first day and just wanted to get out of there asap and as a result failed to inspect the car. No one reminded me of course, and they probably had me sign in the office in the small print that there was no damage before seeing the car. I can’t verify that, but from the entire experience this would not surprise me

Jeronimo was Awesome! Best customer service, kindness and offered professional information. He gave me such a great quote and had a better car for me than expected. I will recommend this place and go see Jeronimo.

Didn’t have our reserved rental available. Tried to sell us on paying a little more for another car. When we didn’t want to pay more, we had to wait for a car. Was a complete hassle and took forever. Worst car rental experience I’ve had.

Chevy Camaro SS I paid extra because this car was sport luxury!!! (supposedly) Car was dirty while I rented, I took the car like this because I was late for my meeting. The car I booked a Chevy Impala was not available, they offered me a Kia instead they do not have any Impalas. I said but the Kia is a smaller car then impala. The guy offered me the Chevy Camaro instead paying another $ 20.00 + extra fees (about $ 26 more per day) for the sport car. I ending taking the Camaro paying extra because I was wasting my time choosing a car, just because they do not have the car I booked or something similar for the same price. (he tricked me) First thing… No remote control with the Sport luxury Camaro SS (this is how the guy always calls this car) only valet key was provided with this rental. I couldn’t open the trunk only from inside. I was at the mall and the alarm went off making the security guy coming to checked on me. (probably thought I was steeling the car) I couldn’t disarm the alarm with the valet key till the sound stopped it after SEVERAL minutes. Then I could start the engine and leave. The next morning the idle in the car was bad almost stalled on a stop light. While I returned the car I told the representative all these issues. He responded me just about the remote issue. Saying another customer lost the remote, sadly this is the only key we have left for this car. This is the worse location ever I had rented in my life. They don’t care because they know you need to catch a fly and there is not much time for concerns. If you can avoid this location or BUDGET at all… Do it. Just go with Hertz or Enterprise they have best customer service. I paid $ 50.00 per day for this mal functional vehicle not including insurance coverage fees. The impala I booked was only $ 24 per day including extra fees. Beware while you rent in Budget Burbank location. They will trick you. I paid double for a mal functional car because the car I booked was not available for me.

If I could give zero stars I would. This review is in regards to the customer service I received when trying to rent from this branch. I made my reservation online for a 7am pickup on New Years day. I knew most places wouldn’t be open, which is why I chose an airport location. I’ve never been to the Burbank airport (I was visiting) but as those of you who have been there know, there is no signage for renting cars– only rental returns. After driving around a couple times I decided to call the rental office to ask how to get to the office. I got transferred immediately to the national line and was told that, on no uncertain terms, I COULD NOT rent a car from the Burbank location without being a ticketed airline passenger. What?!? The guy said that there was a checkpoint where I would have to present my ticket in order to get to the rental place. He then said he could change my reservation to LAX, where the next closest open rental office was. I agreed to getting transferred to a customer service agent (hoping I could at least get some sort of discount because of the lack of info online as to this policy). This agent basically told me «I’m sorry you misunderstood our online booking, but no, I can’t help you. I can change your reservation to LAX though!»
At this point I decided that I needed to regroup. I went home and realized that trying to get a car from LAX was not feasible, and that I had to just bite the bullet and book a flight to Phoenix. So, instead of paying 150 to drive to Phoenix I was paying $ 500 for 2 airline tickets to Phoenix. Did I mention that I had to get there in time for a wedding rehearsal dinner? It would have taken me an extra 2 hours to get to LAX by which time I would not have time to make the drive in time.
When I got to the Burbank airport I decided to go to the budget counter and find out what the heck this policy was. At that point the counter agent told me that they rented cars to anyone, and that I did not need to be an airline passenger. I was pretty pissed at that point. I asked to speak to a manager and asked why there was no signs anywhere pointing to car rentals. She said that it was because they usually don’t rent to locals. So… That means there should be no indication of what to do if you are a local? I asked if there was anything she could do– give me a voucher perhaps for the cost of the rental had I taken it? Some sort of coupon giving me a good deal in the future? Anything that would make me feel I hadn’t just been COMPLETELY screwed? Nothing. She gave me the number to customer service where I could call and lodge an official complaint (which you can be sure I will do). I have never been so angry with a company.
To sum up once more: I made a rental reservation at Burbank Airport. I could not find rental office. I called Budget. They told me I could not actually rent from Burbank and I should have seen that policy online when I made my reservation. I made a flight reservation. I went to budget office. They told me they DO rent cars. I ask for some sort of compensation for THEIR blatant misinformation. They do nothing.
DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET

So I had a reservation with Fox at the airport. I showed up and Fox didn’t have any cars.
I sat down with my phone, checked Priceline, and thought, okay, where? I had rented from Budget before so I thought: let’s ask.
One of the things I like about Fox is that I can use a debit card with no hassle. I have always used a credit card to rent from Budget but I thought I would ask. It was between flights, I guess, because every car rental agent was watching me, wondering who would get the business. Kind of funny.
I walked up the Budget counter and Arman was waiting for me, a great smile and the comment «Hi! Welcome to Budget. I saw… what do you need?»
First off I explained that I needed an SUV or at least a car that would seat 3 adults COMFORTABLY in the back seat. As he punched his buttons going through his inventory I then asked about the debit card. I said basically, I’m in your system, I always use a credit card but I just got back from vacation and my payment isn’t posted yet, can I use my debit card? «Of course» he smiled and then gave me what I needed to know about deposit, etc. He knew down the the penny exactly what I needed to know. He said he had a car that I would be happy with and gave me the same price that Fox had confirmed, sort of a «thanks for giving us the business!» price.
In less than five minutes I was on my way to the Budget kiosk in the garage to pick up my keys. Arman was fast, friendly and efficient. Within 10 minutes from the time the Fox agent said «oh sorry, I don’t have any cars» I was turning on to Hollywood Way in a Hyundai Santa Fe with an optional third row of seats. Great ride, great agent and a great experience!

Check in and out was verrry easy all staff was extremely friendly!!!

I got a great price a little economy car & the check-​in was fast.
I was running very late for my flight home due to not knowing the area and having trouble locating a gas station to fill up. I had originally wanted to pay for the pre-​fill up but the person who assisted my check-​in recommended filling up on my own. In the end, I couldn’t find a gas station and was running out of time so I just drove it back. Little did I know, the cost to pay for them to fill you up if your bring in an empty tank is $ 7.50 a gallon! Thankfully, the kind person at the check stand when I dropped the car off did me a kindness and charged me the pre-​fill rate. I had to RUN to my gate but I made it! Thank you SO much kind sir!
If anything, I’d say the rental car center at Bob Hope Airport itself needs some work — takes too long to get to the gates from the rental car center and it’s all on foot! Next time I will leave extra-​early for the airport so that I have plenty of time to hunt down the elusive gas stations!

Total miss for me. walked in and wasn’t’ even greeted, was looked at several times, a nod would had been nice, the just one second with your finger move. nope, it wasn’t till a hoard of people came in then we where all told just a minute please and thank you for your patience, the only plus was we where upgraded, the negative was it clearly states to return car by 11:30pm on my rental agreement, so when I arrived at 11: ish — 11:15pm and it is closed I was very confused on what to do with my rental. I parked it in one of the 3 customer service spaces and dropped the keys in the return key slot on the floor by the entrance… will I be charged an extra day?

Okay, so some of you diss this place… but I had a great experience! Matt checked me in and couldn’t be nicer and quick too. Check in was similarly easy and stress free. Just south of the airport. Small. Convenient. No complaints.

At Budget, you get what you pay for, cheap low-​quality service. Go to a more reputable car rental service if you want a hassle-​free experience because this is NOT it.
Flew in to Burbank Airport. After wandering around while being placed on hold with the Budget office, I finally found where the shuttle picks up. When I got to the office, the location was swiftly closing as I entered which makes me wonder what might have happened had my flight been delayed (I have horrible luck with delayed flights). I was given the keys to my car and told to double check the damage that was done to it prior my rental –_​– It looked fine, just a few cosmetic issues. But then I got in the car to find my car was actual a handicap car… I’m not handicapped and there were plenty of other cars I could have been given. Yet, the location had hurriedly closed up shop and the staff already left me in their parking lot. The car itself didn’t give me any issue, at least it ran… But I was definitely embarrassed to go anywhere or meet up with any of my contacts in the area due to the odd car.
Upon returning, they asked if the damage to the car was there before I rented it… –_​– (Yes, you gave it to me like that!) And they asked if I had specifically requested the handicap car due to a handicap renter coming to their facility earlier in the day.

Due to a flight cancellation I had to fly into Burbank Airport and rearrange all my reservations originally made for LAX. Budget in Burbank was accommodating and got me on the way with a car fast. The Budget in Burbank Airport Location is an off airport location located on Hollywood Way. They gave me new Kia. The return was kinda interesting, the person taking in the cars actually took his hand felt around the entire front of the car and took a flash light and inspected the entire car. That was fine since the car was fine but if each renter had to do that before signing the inspection sheet when they rent they would be there all day.

I am a «Fastbreak» member of Budget Rental Cars, so there are benefits to having a registered membership.
THE SETUP
I travel a lot for the State on work trips to Southern California, Burbank is my airport of preference to fly in and out of since I usually will follow a work week by staying in Glendale-​Montrose area with my uncle & cousins. After I turn in my State’s contracted vendor Enterprise rental car, I make the loop on the shuttles again and go to Budget.
I say «loops», because unlike Alamo, Hertz, and Avis, both Enterprise and Budget have «off-​airport» car office-​lots. So this is something whether I am working for the state (Enterprise) or am on a personal junket (Budget) I have to plan more time into my trip calculations.
THE DEALS
I get great 2 and 3-​day deals from Budget. This past weekend was no exception with a 2-​Day base rate of $ 35.71 for a econ class Hyundai. The taxes and the airport fees are about the same between all the car rental agencies.
For me, all I care about is good gas mileage and possibly transporting around maybe 1 – 2 other persons besides myself.
THE LOWDOWN
The lack of selection at this smaller vendor, and the distance from the airport don’t make it a perfect scenario, especially when crunched for time, and the shuttle seems to take forever, but it is a solid operation.
