Hertz Rent A Car

I had planned to write the most horrid review ever BUT I met Joy at Hertz at the Burbank airport and she made my life MUCH better. I had a reservation for 9−26−15 but when I went at the appointed time to pick up my car I was told there were NO more cars. I was told I could wait for 2 – 3 hours or come back the next day. Problem was I was hosting a 50^th birthday party for my younger sister so really could not hang around and needed a sedan to transport my aunt and her caregiver back to Venice, CA on 9−27−15 as I only have 2 seats in my car. Needless to say, Joy said she would honor my reservation for 9−27−15 and to just come back in the morning to obtain a car. I was able to go back early 9−27−15 and get a sedan and all worked out very well and she also gave me a 10% off coupon for my next visit. It was hard to believe that when you have a reservation that a car is not made available. Loved Joy but hated that poor policy at Hertz. I have never had the experience with any other car rental. Kind of scary if you really are depending on the car. Joy gets 5 stars but I am afraid Hertz will have to get 1…

Rented here several times now, great deal and customer service!!! I dealt with Herb, that guys a complete gentleman, so friendly and accommodating, without going in to my personal details I’m telling you the guy went way out of his way to be helpful !!! GIVE HERB A RAISE THAT GUYS GREAT!!!

I flew in on a Wednesday and my car was waiting for me. I’m also a Gold member. I was able to switch to another car. No issues. Flawless and easy service. Everyone was super nice and awesome! Same experience when I returned the car at the airport. This service is the same as other Hertz rentals.

Loved this small satellite location’s convenience less than a mile from my bro-in-law’s new home in Burbank. After not being able to see all rental options clearly on
we stopped in here personally and were impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of Herb to set us straight for a reasonable rental this week. Personal contact always the way to go.

Do not ever rent a car from this place! They are so unprofessional. They ran out of cars so I had to wait hours to get my «reserved» car. And then when it came. They tried to give me this falling apart piece of crap that was so dirty. It had no floor mats and stains all over the seats. I immediately returned it and took my business elsewhere.

This place is a joke. My Insurence company made reservation for us to pick up a car. We showed up and guess what they have no cars available. And the guy at the counter did not want to call other locations for availability. Real piece of work.

The place itself is definitely a shit hole and hertz should really do something about updating the place for their employees and customers. On a brighter note, the staff is professional and accommodating. Always received excellent service. John is my main man!

The front office is really small, and there is only 1 chair for guest, so if there are multiple people, you have to stand and wait.
I only had two cars to choose from, since I had to pay for the rental out of pocket, since I was in a car accident and my car was being fixed.
The rental agent was a pleasure to work with, but the car I rented was a bit dirty. It needed a was and an interior cleaning. Other then that it worked fine for the 5 days I rented it. The prices we a little cheaper by $ 10 dollars a day, compared to enterprise which was down the street.
I returned it a day earlier then expected, but they didn’t overcharge me for the extra day, which I was very happy about. Their computers were done when i was checking it back in/​returning it. But they were able to get the servers working by the time it was my turn.

I got excellent service from Herb, and the rest of the staff here has always been accommodating and friendly as well. The only issues with this place are that it is not open on Sundays, and they don’t let you book a specific car of your choice in advance if you are picky about what kind of car you drive. That said, the great customer service, the reliable cars, and the great prices make up for these things.

They tried to Overcharge me.

John and Herbert were very accommodating. We were looking to rent a car on a busy weekend. After going to 2 other car rental places, we almost lost hope. Luckily, we called this branch and John said there were still a few cars left. Herbert was great, he answered all the different questions we had and showed us all the cars that were available.
We would definitely go back to rent a car.

Honestly I don’t know why every time I go here with a claim number of insurance and I tell them how much I’m covered for they try to charge me more then say «don’t worry about it will be adjusted later» my coverage is only 16 a day they tried to put me in a 20 a day car and I had to insist they call my insurance company. Finally after an hour I made them call my insurance they tried to switch the original car they promised for a cheaper one even though they originally promised me a better one. They play games to try to make money with you. Then finally my car was only 15.25 and my insurance pays 16 and they still wanted me to pay for taxes? I asked him where does the difference in price of 15.25 and 16 go he said «in the shops pocket» what? Remember they picked me up I was told it was «a favor to pick me up» I asked them to take me to enterprise they refused knowing very well I’m hurt from accident they made me walk. Very shady place stay away! I went up the street to Enterprise they gave me a car right away for what insurance pays without any questions or problems at all.

The place isn’t as aesthetically appealing, but ever since the new manager, John, moved to this location, the place has definitely been uplifted. The service is great, never disappointing, at least not when John is around. I stopped going to this location a while back and decided to try it out one more time, and it’s a good thing I did. Will be back.

It’s a small airport, so I can forgive having to go to the counter even though I am Hertz Gold. (Shoot, Orange County Airport was working from a folding table in the basement a couple of months ago when I flew there.)
But I do expect to be given a car that is not defective. In this case I was given a Nissan Altima without a front emblem. I thought no biggie since I am a Gold member. Wrong. The cost of the emblem was $ 38, but I got hit for $ 193 damage bill because Hertz decided that the only way an emblem can fall off a vehicle is if you have a front end collision. thus, they want me to pay for a whole new front grille. After I asked for a statement of itemized damages, they went ahead and added charges for a tire rotation and a tire pressure test. Whatever.
Burbank airport is only responsible for sending me out with a defective car and having an overly attentive attendant on the return. Hertz Corporate is responsible for making sure I never rent with Hertz again.

This weekend I had a bad experience trying to get ahold of someone for nearly 30 minutes. When I finally got the rep she was very helpful and apologetic that they were shirt staffed and busy. She also gave me a discount on my rental. I appreciated the gesture and the recognition that the service wasn’t at the standard they hoped for.

I am a frequent customer at this location! The staff has been wonderful to work with! I always feel welcomed! there are times they are super busy, but staff runs the office smoothly and with utmost professionalism! Staff has always been accommodating and always demonstrate that they care I am happy with my rental. I have not been disappointed with their service or customer service. Very happy customer!

My first impression of this place was 3 stars because I had to wait a bit to get served. However, after having rented here a couple more times, I’ve found that my first experience was an unusual occurrence. This branch is small, but it is usually not that busy inside. And service here so far has always gone smoothly.
I rented here on a Saturday morning for the first time, and it went very well. I had an online reservation and called to get picked up. I was picked up with a short time and the paperwork and keys were all ready for me to go. Since my information was on file, the guy who helped me prepped everything ahead of time. The car had plenty of gas in it, and it was a Chevy Malibu, which was a pretty nice car. He cleaned it off a bit after doing the inspection and then I was on my way.
This is why I prefer Hertz over Enterprise. They have nicer cars, they always have gas in them, and service goes by so much faster and smoother. Instead of trying to hustle me for optional insurance, they make sure everything is ready and get me moving as quickly as possible. Sure, it is a bit more expensive, but I think I definitely get my money’s worth here!

I wish I could review Hertz, instead of just this location. The location is generally efficient, cars clean, etc. What I can’t stand is Hertz the company. I travel a lot, and after more than 6 months of renting from Hertz, my points have accumulated about enough that I can get a free window washing when I leave the lot. I have dealt with their phone reservations folks twice. The first time, I tried to do a drop off in a different location than the pickup. I asked her to tell the difference in prices between two options. She not only booked BOTH simultaneous reservations, but she had them both picking up from a different rental location in Burbank but NOT at the airport. Today, I tried to use my points to add a free weekend onto my existing reservation. She told me that
1. weekend points can’t be combined with a weekday rental, so I’d have to, get this, drive back to the airport Sunday night and rerent the SAME car. How absurd!
2. And then she tells me the weekend is blacked out anyway, so I’m stuck paying more than $ 100 dollars to extend my tiny cheap car. If I can’t use my points when I need them, what’s the *point*?

I rented a mid-​size car with Hertz during a one-​week business trip. Overall, my experience was positive. Pick up and drop off at Bob Hope Airport was very convenient. I would use them again.

This is the most unprofessional group of bumbling clowns I have ever seen.
Being a Hertz Gold Club Member for 10 years you would think Hertz truly cares about valued members… at this location… they just dont.
They all look tired when they come to work, unkept, and basically look like filthy bums. Especially the morning crew.
They act like they want to go home and seem like they are out in space… like they almost need a nap or something.
They just DON’T speak english. It’s very frustrating dealing with them. They are bums and treat customers like criminals.
As a frequent traveler with hundreds of thousands of miles in the air and on the ground… this place SUCKS.
There has to be way to bring these numb nuts to task.
Here’s an idea… get a clue to how valuable your customers are.
POS rental company, POS customer service, POS employees.
If I ran this organization… I would FIRE every single person one by one and revamp the entire staff at this place.
I can not impress how dissatisfied I am with this place.
I spit on it…(spit sound here after clearing throat for 5 secs)
