One of my favorite karaōke spots! The stage is huge! The bartenders are so nice and make great drinks. The food from the hotel is ok, but honestly I would eat before you come.

Can I get a server, please? The service here is slower than at the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Waiting to order a drink was like jury duty. These are not exaggerations. The Casting Call Lounge is a large comfortable looking place with a raised stage, wings, and curtains. The lighting is nice, and the images of Hollywood icons are cute. There are comfortable chairs. The drink tables are too small for food. But why worry about food when the servers are never to be found. I recently celebrated a birthday there on June 20, 2014, a Friday night. There was piano and singing entertainment which was amusing. My friends all wanted to buy me drinks, and I was ready to drink them. However, the waitstaff was never to be found. So my pals went up to the bar to buy and carry their own drinks every time. The waitresses seemed pleasant enough. They smiled. They just didn’t want to work. On the positive side, they did let my friend store a birthday cake in a refrigerator. The bartender was friendly enough. But at one point I asked him for change so I could tip both the waitress and entertainers with cash. He first said no, but then changed his mind, and told me he could give me some fives and ones. Then later, when I asked him to validate my hotel parking, he wasn’t friendly at all. My friends had spent a lot of money buying me cocktails. Our bar tab was probably the biggest in the house, so you think the bartender could be a little more cheerful? This is not the way to run a business. If you treat customers well, and check on them often, they spend more, and become regulars. It’s simple mathematics. Whoever owns this lounge better hire a new manager, ASAP. This place could be a gold mine if you just had some competent waitresses who knew how to work a room and keep the bar and restaurant take high. I’ve got friends in the catering business and could recommend some good servers, if you need them. Seriously.

Casting Call Lounge is located INSIDE the Holiday Inn… And where I first wrote this and put it under the Holiday Inn page… I realized that my star rating had nothing to do with the hotel itself, and to keep Unilocal honest for those wanting to know about rooms or the front desk… Comfortable, loungey, surprisingly good & reasonable… Three times I’ve been here… Seeing shows that friend’s were involved with… Now while I and most people won’t normally eat inside a hotel, unless something’s bringing them there… I can honest say I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity, quality and price. I’m so used to being overcharged for mediocre crap at most hotels I’ve visited in the past. I really wanted to ask the waitress… «They do know they’re serving this at a hotel? Right?» Seriously… It was like $ 20 bucks for two beers and a big ass turkey wrap with a generous side. While I found FREE street parking each time I went… I was also told by the MC that the hotel validated for the parking garage for up to 4 hours(at least on the nights I went).
