The Golden Jackalope

The place is pretty hazardous… Black boards just hanging around without support. People could easily bump into this, spill wine everywhere, & be accused of being a drunk… All in all, pretty classy place… until they bring out the chicken wings & beer.
I’d go back :)

So far so good… I’m right around the corner from this place and find myself stopping by all the time. It’s pretty dead during the day (typical for the area) but things pick up after 6 or so. Friendly staff, decent beverage options with a small selection of rotating craft beers, nothing on tap though, which is a sort of a letdown. It’s more of a serve-​yourself kind of joint so I can’t really comment on the wait staff. The new art gallery they’ve installed should add to the appeal.

I got to say, when I go to places, I like to relax, but at this place it feels like work, like I am surrounded by supervisors.

A little hole-​in-​the-​wall type place near the Rancho district in Burbank. Their soft opening was… OK? They didn’t have a lot on tap and seating is VERY limited, but I did like their esoteric décor and friendly owners. Three stars for now, but hopefully they will fix some of the hiccups in the coming months.

Positioned awkwardly between two peoples’ desk, and narrow region of medium foot traffic, the Golden Jackalope is a thing that exists. The disappointment of It’s limited, yet uncomfortable seating is matched only by the non-​funtional diso ball which resides under the uninspired coffee table.
If by the stroke of misfortune you manage to stumble upon this poorly located venue, you may find yourself confused by the tacky mismatch of style and poor lighting. If you’re thirsty for a delicious cold beverage, you’ve come to the wrong place. Only room temperature drinks are served here.
The Golden Jackalope is one of my favorite hangouts.

A little hard to find, but it adds to the charm. Really cool crowd during the week. Had a lot of fun at the soft opening and it seems to be a great addition to the neighborhood. So far, one of my favorite bars in the Burbank area.
