I stumbled on this place after visiting the Halloween store across the street. I’m not in the movie industry but I was curious and wanted to check out the store. The store is very cool and the guy who showed me around was awesome. I ended up buying a few supplies just to mess around at home and see what I could make. It was a great experience and I recommended it to a friend who makes costumes and creates characters.

I came by here a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to test out the silicone I got from here and can confidently give the store five stars. Their silicone (the generic one, I think there are only two types?) is, of the four or so mold supply/​FX stores in the general Burbank and North Hollywood area, is the MOST reliable and economical, and even much easier to pour than comparable products. I use it to cast resin busts and figures from my oil clay sculpts. It costs half as much as basically the same product from another nearby store, too.
The clerk here was also a thousand times more, by far and away, the friendliest and absolute most helpful of all the moldmaking store clerks I have ever encountered. He made great recommendations and was more than helpful in explaining what products were used for, even the ones I had no intention of buying. When I had a question about a certain clay and solvent he looked it up on the internet to help answer. The store is really clean and welcoming and you can see sample pieces on the wall. Highly recommend, I’ll only be coming here for my silicone! They also have an amazing selection of sculpting tools, particularly rakes and skin texture tools. The rakes (look like a guitar string loop) I have only ever found in one other store but there is a better selection here.

I’ve been shopping here for about 7 years and couldn’t be happier. Their new store is not only in a great location, but well stocked and looks fantastic. Excellent customer service, and product knowledge. Plus their prices are the best in town. Highly recommend them for any FX supply needs! MPFX 4 EVA!!!

Second time here and like the first it was a blast. Very helpful employees and willing to go find what you need. Use to get majority of my stuff from frends and specialty stuff from MPFX, but I think this is my go to place now for everything.

I’ve been coming here for years and I always look forward to the visits. They all know be by name and vice versa. What an informed, helpful and inviting staff they have. They carry a lot of their own products so they always have great prices too. Shop here first for all your FX needs. Huge parking Lot and they will always bend over backwards to please a customer :)

This family run business specializes in reasonably prices products for creating monster & FX for films and tv.
Quick and friendly service.
AMAZing customer service.
Only minor issue is their stock. When they are busy, their stock is not up to par. So call ahead to save yourself a trip.
