I love their chicken, guava drink, plantanos and music. Try both fried and grilled chicken. They are both flavorful and delicious.

I love the food, but the service here is horrible. so I typically only come forgetful of my last experience, only to be quickly reminded why I don’t come here more often. Today, I was the only customer in the store with the employees: one regular and two assistant managers(according to their name badges and NOT by their actions). The female assistant manager takes my order, and I ask for fresh cole slaw(I noticed the lid was not on at ALL), we finish my transaction quickly. I see the arrival of the fresh coleslaw and wait at the counter in front of both managers who are now counting the money drawer. I WAIT10MINUTESFORTHEMTOFINISH!!! So I ask, «What am I waiting for?» She turns around and dips out the coleslaw. When she’s done, she’s all like«Fresh coleslaw, yes?!» So I say, «Yeahhhhhh, but you didn’t wash your hands after counting the money.» She takes off to the sink and hides her face until the regular employee puts my order together. So why the long review? Because I am a restaurant manager. And a chef. For 20+ years, I’ve worked/cooked/managed every type of kitchen there is. The attitude of these two managers are the reasons people talk shit about the restaurant industry. Those of us who take pride in giving every guest a phenomenal experience feel like they’re slapped in the face when the customer service you get is horrible. We know what it takes, and yes we deserve the best dining experience even when we’re too damm lazy after a long hard shift to cook and all we want is a bite to eat.

Wow, Looks like I dodged some serious bullets when I came here for lunch(which is at 11:00AM). Ordered the fried chicken burrito, about $ 5. Service was great, the cashier was super friendly and talkative. Order was out in less than 2 minutes, came with a small bag of tortilla chips. Seriously, a really good burrito, the rice, beans, sour cream, and salsa really go well with the fried chicken. Maybe the early time and my particular order were the two keys to a good meal here. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back for the same bite anytime.

If your looking to try a new type of chicken style you should definite try the citrus grilled chicken here. I always pass by pollo campero so one day I decided to surprise my girl with something new. I went in and ordered the citrus grilled chicken with corn tortillas and salsa verde. It came with a side of limes, rice and black beans, and cole slaw. I tried both types of empanadas as well and I said to myself«I should of came here long time ago»! Little did I expect it my girl loved it That a couple of nights later she requested more? The citrus grilled chicken is so flavorful and when you bite it there’s actually flavor coming out and your taste buds are exploding with flavor. I make chicken tacos with salsa verde and cilantro with onion and it’s off the chain. I eat here at least 3 times a month. My family always ends up finishing the whole chicken. I think ima go before they close it’s my day off Tomorow finally !

Never going back to this restaurant again! Their chicken is not as good as it used to be and is too expensive! They are so shady, today we went for their Wednesday special, the only day it’s worth it to go. The cashier said if we want to buy the special then we need to pay cash. The debit or credit card function only worked if you were buying something more expensive. What is so funny is that even when the card machine is working, you can only buy one special at a time. So yes they do take credit cards, but if you want the special you need to pay cash. She said it would be 10 – 15 minutes to fix the machine, as I was leaving. I think it’s a lie, they just want to discourage people from buying the special.

First off the location on the site is wrong. This is the actual location of this awful place. 10960 Sherman Way Sun Valley, CA91352 There needs to be negative stars on here. This place is horrible. I was told not to eat here and I should have listened to that piece of advice. I came here when they first had opened. It use to be lively and smelled good when you walked in. I came in for the second time in a long while and found it to be dead. The smell was not as pleasant as I had remembered. I was greeted by an older lady with tart makeup and her manager gustapo uniform. I had gone through the menu and had not seen anything regarding half a fried chicken. I asked and the lady said it was a different price than what they had. They only had the grilled chicken for the ½ chicken option on the menu. So I asked if I could get just a half fried chicken several times after she kept insisting me to get the combo. Then she mentioned that it came with two sides regardless of combo or not. This confused the hell out of me so I said ok and I got the fries and yuca fries. She had mentioned that the yuca fries would take about 4 minutes to prepare. I was thinking ok nice they are going to make those fresh. So after waiting for a while I see her putting in fries in a paper bag then she physically takes some out. I mean really she shorted me on a portion of fries. Not using a glove, nope she didn’t care about my health, and she had just handled money with those hands. So I got the order, asked for napkins because of course they always remember to give you some yea right, and left. Once I opened the contents of the ordered I had gotten I found a moldy«dinner roll» as she called it. The fries were stale and I had some deeply fried fries to that were charcoal black. These I tossed out. The yuca fries were soggy. So these were not freshly made they were microwaved. The chicken was bland and had an odd flavor to it. To my surprise some pieces were pink and under cooked. I sighted and felt very sad to have gotten such an awful meal. I don’t think I will ever look at chicken the same way. So I preceded to place these in a dish and leave em outside for the cats to eat. I don’t know where this place went bad but it is no good anymore. Guess they only had the good stuff when they opened. Avoid an unpleasant experience, over priced half made chicken, and go some where else. This place blows.

I loved this spot. I’m always looking for some quality fried chicken. Some coworkers of mine mentioned this spot and I decided to try it out. OMG!!! Fried chicken deliciousness. And their empanadas are to die for !!! The rice and beans were a bit too salty for my taste but other than that I was in clogged artery heaven. Can’t wait to come back.

Best place ever when the chicken master is cooking, Edwin is the chicken master and will all ways be the chicken master. I do not advise you to eat there UNLESS the chicken master is cooking. Do not eat, and drive, you may get pulled over, and get booked with a dwec(Driving While Eating Chicken).

What happened to that great tasting chicken that made me think of my home country whenever I took that first bite? Campero has lost its flavor, someone needs to go on a special quest and find it. I can get TWICE the amount of chicken and MORE flavor from Ralph’s. Bye Campero.

Good chicken, but the service is the worst. U ask for a mixed piece order and a FEW times now they’ve just given me leg n thighs. Today they got that right but shorted a piece… SMH…

Wow, how does this place have 3 ½ stars? I was craving the crazy chicken, but Pollo Campero was closer and I decided to give it a shot. BIGMISTAKE! First of all it was hands down the worst chicken I have ever had in my life. It was dry, and I mean really dry. Good thing there are free refills on the soda. Maybe the fried chicken is better than the grilled chicken, but it was really horrible chicken. They gave me the choice of a dinner roll or a tortilla. I chose the roll which was old and stale. The meal came with two sides. I took fries and mashed potatoes. Yes, that is two potato sides, but the other options were only beans(3 kinds) and rice. No corn, no mac and cheese, no other options. The fries and potatoes were okay, but nothing special. The counter girl was friendly and all, so I guess the service was decent, but when the chicken at a chicken place is this bad they are lucky to get one star. Avoid this place at all costs.

Pollo Campero had some of the best service I’ve gotten from a fast food location. The man behind the counter was nice, guided me through the menu, and helped me choose what would be best with patience. His co-workers were also very friendly asking me «how are you doing» «everything ok» throughout my meal. The food selection is a mix of South American comfort food with a good selection of healthier choices. I had the grilled chicken bowl with black beans, Rice, and cilantro onions. Their salsas even though it says mild was still pretty spicy. Good all around experience from the farthest chicken joint in Burbank.

Tastes like chicken… the breasts were kinda dry, but ok nonetheless. The thighs are small and puny, the fried plantains(yes fuckers… this is not El Pollo Loco, which by the way I dig) were pretty good and the yucca fries were tasty. The other drawback to this joint is that it’s a bit pricey for what you get… dry ass chicken and some tasty sides. :(I’m sticking to EPL.

I heard about this place from my coworkers. They were telling me stories about how before Pollo Campero came to the U.S. people who would visit relatives back in Guatemala would smuggle Pollo Campero back in their suitcases. I finally tried it today and like it! It really is all about the crispy seasoned skin. For those of you who don’t eat skin, stay away from this place. They only had two types of house salsa and both were HOT!!! But then again, I can’t handle too much heat in my food. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and provided awesome customer service. He offered me samples of the agua fresca and a 15% good neighbor discount when I told him it was my first time trying Pollo Campero. I’m surprised anyone would have anything negative to say about their service. Lastly, the guy told me the beans are really good and that the Yucca fries were a little bit bitter so I got the sweet plantains instead… but now I’m wishing I tried the yucca fries. Next time I will try the beans and the yucca fries! I will be back for sure!
