Rafo’s Cafe

Never dissatisfied! Food is always prepared fresh and take out is always on time. We are big fans of the the large pizza special and Rafos cooking in general. If you haven’t checked it out. you must! It’s right at the corner of Olive and Victory in the same shopping center as subway.

I’ve eaten at this place many times, I love love love the grill lamb shack! it comes in very good portion which would probably cost around $ 30 at a normal restaurant but here is less than $ 15. The guys are always nice and friendly.

I heard through NextDoor that Rafo’s Café makes great pizza, so I tried it out tonight on my way home. I got 2 slices, one just cheese and one with pepperoni. The slices were so big, they cut them in two, so it was like I got 4 slices! The owners were nice and quick. The place is clean, though it could use a decorator. Just feels like a bachelor-​pad type place.
So, on to the pizza! It was fabulous! I lived in New York for 5 years and got to love their pizza and their pizza can definitely compete! Crisp but not rock hard crust, perfect sauce to cheese ratio, baked in a hot oven that makes little char marks on the crusty edge. Pepperoni was not too greasy, turned up on the edges from the heat and oh so good! They really should put pizza in their description under the café name so people can find this place!
So, two pieces (which were actually 4 regular sized pieces), came out to about $ 8.50 total… what a deal! I’ll be back to try all of their different styles (from Hawaiian to Armenian to Meat Lovers, etc.).
If you’re looking for a good slice or full pie, this is a great place, especially for takeout!

I’ve been here a few times now! The pizza is amazing and so are the kabobs! Not only is the food Delish, but the gentleman that work here are so friendly and inviting. This is my new favorite spot! You won’t be disappointed!!!

We’ve come here a few times and have had a variety of food, all of which have been great. We’re big fans of the pizza and each order is always delicious. The folks there are very nice to boot. Order out or eat in, you won’t be disappointed!

I order from this place all the time. The donor sandwich is delicious.

I went here for lunch while my truck was getting serviced at the Chevy dealership up the street. This place has regulars and they swear by it. I, however, will never go back. I ordered the donair plate, which is actually the lunch special. But the unfriendly dude behind the counter charged me full price because I didn’t know better at the time. It came with one half of a stale pita and the meat was bland, dry and probably old. Try the burger place a few doors down. They’re way happier to have your business.

I ordered a Mediterranean Salad with grilled chicken and it was delicious. Big portions too. I’ll be back next time I can swing through the area. Eat up!

I decided to grab a quick donor sandwich on my lunch break and was unfortunately disappointed.
Pros:
–Portion was pretty big and was a sufficient amount to fill you up.
Cons:
–The condiments were limited.
–Sauce was not enough
–MOST IMPORTANTLY, meat seemed to be old. My first bite consisted of crunchy and dry pieces, which are signs of old meat. I believe they simply warmed up some leftover meat from the day before and wrapped it in the sandwich.
Overall, it filled me up and I ate it ONLY because I was very hungry and did not have enough time to commute to a different restaurant. I would STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND this place to anybody unless you are present during the entire process of fulfilling your order. MAKE SURE YOU SEE THEM MAKE THE MEAT FRESH OR I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Lulekabob Plate and Chicken Plate were seasoned and grilled to perfection and served with white rice and a side salad. Pita bread and a savory garlic sauce were also provided.

Omfg!!! This place is the shizznit!!! These guys really know how to whip some chit up. The food is so damn gooooooooood!!! I would suggest calling your order in if your short on time. Nice people btw it’s all good in the hood.

This place is AMAZING! The food is delicious and fresh. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. They stay open late and even deliver. We love this place.

Excellent local restaurant, the place is clean, the service is very friendly and the food is spot on. Prices are on par or lower then most similar restaurants. The only down side is that hummus does not come included with the kabob plates.
Try the Armenian pizza, was the highlight of the meal.

Needed a quick sandwich to pick up on the way from work to a concert — chose Rafo’s because it wasn’t fast food, and the reviews looked good!
Ordered 2 sandwiches/​wraps — Beef Kabob and Pork Kabob. The wraps are foot longs! They were tasty, but pretty basic. Meat, Lettuce, Onion, and Picked veggies of some sort (I asked for no pickes on mine.) There’s no rice, or much sauce really… so it was kind of dry. Other than that, I enjoyed it, and I was pretty full afterwards.
Price point is fantastic, $ 6.99 for each of our sandwiches.
I gave it 2 stars because while it was «decent» — probably not a place I’d go back to again.

I have been here three times since I got those burnt veggies for my girlfriend and the last three times the food has been great! The service has always been prompt and the guys inside are nice.
Last night I picked up takeout again. I ordered the chicken wrap sandwich without jalapenos or pickles. The wrap was great and the chicken is always moist, never overcooked. The sauce inside is also very tasty.
My girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken plate with all greens and no rice. She said that her chicken tasted great and it wasn’t dry. The veggies were also fresh, not overcooked. She has been hesitant to order the veggie skewer plate again because of the burnt veggies the last time she ordered it, but she’s content getting their grilled chicken.
So, I had to update because I really do like this food now that the orders aren’t overcooked. Thanks for the great service and good meals, Rafo’s! We plan to be back more frequently again.

Rafo’s is great. I went there for lunch because of a recommendation and it definitely did not disappoint. I had the pork chop plate. It came with more than enough meat, rice and salad. The workers were very nice and explained the different dish options.
I would definitely go back there!

We just survived school finals in this household and I had been collecting take-​out menus from various restaurants so we can have something other than pizza delivered to our door while studying. Rafo’s café won the vote out of 20 other places.
We ordered a couple of sandwiches, a Lule plate, and a Donner plate. I asked if hummus was included or extra, the guy said he would throw some in for free, nice! He was very patient as he took my order, he said 40 minutes for delivery. It was closer to 50 minutes, but he managed to find the apartment without calling me a bunch of times, so…
The food was great, even better than last time. The donner (shwarma) was delicious, the lule was juicy. Not everyone likes jalapenos, but they work with the food. But the dressing, hummus, and tzatziki sauce were freshly made. They even served a grilled tomato, mint, and persian cucumbers on the salad, fresh veggies just compliment the meat so well! My boys could barely finish their sandwiches (wraps), they were so full of meat!
It was a really good quantity of really good food. And I take back my previous comment, it was certainly a great value! We are hooked!

So delicious and authentic. Rafo even makes his own salad dressing. The main ingredient must be crack because I find myself eating it with a spoon. My favorites are Lule plate, doner kabob sandwich, and the chicken Breast plate.

I was out with my brother, trying to find somewhere to eat (the Burbank Poquito Mas was way too crowded), and Rafo’s Café popped up on Unilocal,so we gave it a shot. I’m glad we did because it was really good! If it were closer to me, I would go there often.
I ordered the Vegetarian Plate, a very generous portion of grilled vegetables, rice, salad, corn, etc. My brother got the Grilled Chicken Breast Plate. We pretty much sat there in awe at the quantity of food after being so used to getting ripped off. It was all really good. The hummus, which was served first with pita to soften the wait, was probably the best hummus I’ve had. I’m never super impressed by hummus, but I would have bought that stuff in a jar if I could have!
It’s a tiny place, nothing fancy, but it’s clear they care a lot about their food, and that makes it an awesome little restaurant hidden in plain sight. I definitely want to go back!

This place is the best! The guy I order from over the phone is always so nice and he even put all salad with my salmon plate dinner instead of salad and rice. I didn’t want rice so having more salad was great! The salmon was so big and delicious too! I’ve ordered from similar places around town but think I’ll stick with Rafo’s when I’m feeling like Mediterranean food. Thank you, great cooks and nice delivery person!
