Okay, so I returned today for Super Bowl Sunday with my Meetup group. Once again, we had a great time. The food is fantastic… portions are huge and prices so reasonable. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Thanks to our wonderful waitress Alex! I’m sure our group will return again… and again.

Loved everything I’ve tried here so far. Their daily specials are awesome and great portions. Also their happy hour is good. I enjoy the late night happy hour the most. My favorite dish has to be the nachos so far. Looking forward to going again and finally try the burgers. Slowly. It surely bringing a regular there.

Disappointed with my recent visit. The quality has gone down. When it first opened I had the most delicious shrimp and grits. I went back again just to order that very same dish. I went yesterday and was sad to see it was no longer on the menu. The waitress suggested the shrimp appetizer and she allowed me to order a side dish to go with it; I chose the Mac n’cheese. Both arrived and looked dismal. The shrimp: 6 sad looking pieces on a plate with lots of lemon slices and shredded ice berg lettuce. Didn’t taste like anything amazing nor did it replicate any use for the lemon slices that were bigger than the shrimp itself. Overall, a very steep price of $ 13 for what was delivered. Mac and cheese: cooked pasta swimming in a cheesy roux sauce. The sauce was runny and didn’t even stick to the pasta. It just dripped off. More like«pasta in a sauce» vs Mac and cheese. The entire point to this dish is for the sauce to be baked together with the noodles. Poor execution. Overall, overpriced for what was delivered. There needs to be a revaluation of quality in the food.

If you love bbq, go here. Now. The pulled pork was delicious and the portions are so big I’m taking half of it home. Great food, beer, and service. Everyone was very friendly. We came on a Tuesday so it was pretty tame, but the atmosphere was still energetic and fun.

I had been a fan since they opened. I was so happy that someone took over a dying location and revitalized it. I was even happier that they smoked their baby back ribs and brisket until they were tender and juicy and that the thick burgers were cooked beautifully and big and delicious. Now, I am done. I took a friend for lunch one Saturday and raved about the burger. I was horrified when it arrived thinner than I was used to and, WELLDONE(dry) instead of the medium rare. I have tried the burger several times since and it more often than not arrives over cooked. About nine months ago I went in and ordered the brisket sandwich expecting the melt in my mouth sandwich that I had had many times before. Tough, dry and chewy is what I got. Disappointed. Within the last six month I have gone to order the baby back ribs and the first time I considered it a fluke when the ribs were overcooked. Yes, they fell off the bone but were not juicy, They were dry. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give it another try. Again, the ribs were dry and not luscious and juicy as I had hoped for. I so yearned for the way they used to be. This time I ate 3 ribs and when the server came to ask how was everything, I told her. I said, «the ribs are dry». She very sweetly offered to get me some sauce although I already had a bottle on the table. I replied, «thank you but sauce is not going to help these. They are dry because they are overcooked.» She got and uncomfortable look on her face and then did a little knee dip, smiled and said, «I am so sorry». Then she quickly walked away. I guess when a place has multiple big screen TVs and beer, it isn’t really necessary to cook the food properly or, offer to replace over cooked food. Sadness, I really liked the food here for a while.

I usually come for beer, but I decided to come in one night for a drink. I ordered an Old-fashioned and the girl didn’t know how to make it, so she asked one of her co-workers. Really? That’s like saying you don’t know how to make a Martini. Apparently her coworker didn’t know the right way to make it either. When I got my drink, it was basically a watered down shot of Whiskey. If I wanted a Whiskey & Soda, I would’ve asked for one. I decided to give them another try and came here on a Thursday for Happy Hour thinking it would be a different/better experience. On Thursdays they promote $ 3 Stellas and you can keep the glass. I order one and they tell me that they no longer give away the glassware. I understand, but at the same time they shouldn’t falsely advertise it. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here anytime soon.

Look, I feel like an imposter reviewing a BBQ place since I am a vegetarian. But if you read my past reviews, I don’t like for my diet to interfere with where I can go with my friends. My roommate and I were looking for a place in the neighborhood to watch a USC vs Colorado game(thank goodness we won that game) and thanks to Unilocal stumbled on this place. Ambiance is like a western bar. All wood everything. Had tons of TV everywhere, which was nice as we were parked right in front of a TV during our meal. Has a great bar area. I, of course, had the veggie burger(aka Garden burger). I thought it was cute the waitress asked me how I wanted done and she even acknowledged the silliness. I got it «medium». My roommate and I also split a side of mac and cheese instead of getting fries. Once I received the burger, oh man. I was kind of regretting getting the mac and cheese because this burger was HUGE. The patty was pretty dense, and thick, but pretty flavorful. It was much better than those Boca’s Veggie Burger patties. Adding the aioli provided a nice creamy bright flavor to offset the patty, and the brioche oh man. Melt in your mouth buttery richness. The mac and cheese eh. I wasn’t that impressed. I prefer my mac and cheese with a bubbly crust and seeing the strings of cheese come up when I dig my first forkful in. I just felt this mac and cheese was drowning in cheese sauce, rather than actual cheese. Parking: FREE Parking as it has its own lot. Also plenty of FREE parking on the street if the parking lot is full.

Had the Hollywood bbq platter, with baby back ribs & hot-links. Being a bbq snob, I really didn’t expect much, seeing that the valley seems to be the breeding ground of over priced and horrendous bbq. But, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasteful the ribs & links were. I had Texas toast, a side salad, mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese as sides. The mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese were ok. The portions were large, and unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my stomach(for once) and I had enough leftovers for another meal. For a grand total of about $ 35, I got two meals out of one platter and fried pickles(I can never think badly of fried pickles, key to my heart gentlemen!). Overall good meal and experience, just wish the two sides had more flavor.

I’ve been coming here off and on since they took over ownership and became what they are now and given time the time they’ve really become a destination spot for Sports viewing and a good night out. What I hadn’t done was consider them a lunchtime spot, but we were over that way and my buddy wanted BBQ so I said«lets hit Hollywood Way, it’ll be dead, but they’ve got good BBQ». BOYWAS I WRONG! The place was nearly packed and continued to fill as we ate. The staff was lovely and attentive and the food was hot and tasty as always. I had the BBQ Stacker sandwich and it was RIDICULOUS. It was so heavy I really had to cut it in half to eat it. Check my pix of it, but it’s got Tri-Tip, Hot Link AND Pulled Pork on the same sandwich! It was good and I didn’t eat another thing the rest of the day. I hadn’t been here for awhile and if lunch is this busy now I’d get there early for the big game! Treat your sever well, because they treat you well.

Beer, Sports, BBQ… What more can you really ask for? Well I’m not really a beer gal but they did carry Angry Orchard, one of my favorite ciders so SCORE! When you first walk in you will notice there’s not a bad seat in sight. The bar has big screens galore and the open dining area with booths and high tops also have a matching amount of television sets. Each TV showed a different sport and even some comedy shows. It’s truly a place to come enjoy some ribs and watch the tube. I didn’t get ribs but I did get one of the house favorites, the BBQCHOPPEDSALAD with pulled chicken. The salad featured mixed greens, diced tomato, grilled corn, cucumbers, black beans, avocado and Jack cheese topped with tortilla strips and served with bbq ranch dressing. It was a HUGE salad that was tasty on many levels. There was plenty of chicken which was succulent and my salad was drenched in dressing(just how I like it!). The avocado was a nice addition along with the crispy tortilla strips, great textural juxtaposition. The service was amazing. Our waitress was a peach, super nice and attentive. She checked in multiple times to make sure everything was ok and she was even kind enough to change the TV to a sports game my boyfriend wanted to watch. This place seems like it has a lot of regulars and on Saturday nights they offer live music. Certainly worth a visit!
Stopped by today on my way to the airport — it’s my second trip to the Hollywood BBQ. I ordered the baby back ribs w/potato salad, baked beans & a side salad! This trip I was disappointed — the food was good — the service was great! But the food wasn’t as good as the first time around — the potato salad had good flavor but the potatoes were undercooked & the ribs, although tasty m, were dry! The side salad w/ranch dressing was excellent, very fresh! I was here for an early dinner so maybe they chef wasn’t ready yet! I’ll be back next time I’m In Burbank, hoping for an experience like my first! SherrybFoodie

Matt, I hear the burgers are awesome, I normally have your Rib Teaser or your BBQ Chicken Chop Salad… both are so good. I also love your pull pork, tri-tip. or chicken sliders. Great place… no bar food here.
