No contact whatsoever from these thieves… they’ve had $ 105 since Dec 22nd by running my card THREE times without my knowledge OR permission and REFUSING to reimburse. It you take something that doesn’t belong to you and refuse to return then that’s THEFT. BEWARNED !!!

This shop is fine. The people are nice and it has an interesting selection, but it’s not particularly big. The place I’ve found that is what I would call a proper«shop» is the continental shop in Santa Monica. Everything else basically has like 2 aisles of stuff and that’s really just slightly more that World Market. But anyway, it has all the essentials, mostly.(Except everyone keeps carrying Taverner’s Jelly Babies instead of Bassett’s. WHY?) Monster munch, Walker’s crisps, gravy mixes, a small frozen section with pies and sausages, and lots of teas and Digestives and Walker’s shortbreads. Id’ say most of this shop is condiment or sweets-related, besides teas, that is. People are always very friendly, I just wish they had even more stuff!

I little taste of England for me and my British gal! It’s about as close as you can get to tasting the British culture without actually going there.

Monster Munch! Pretty good crisps section and lots of chocolate… lots. Frozen cornish pasties, bangers, sausage rolls, and more in the freezer. Lots more. Good selection. Some things were a little cheaper than Friar Tuck Shoppe(Sherman Oaks), but not by much. I have yet to try the pub this shop’s attached to.

Came in here today on my recent mission to find some Jelly Babies(Yes, I’m a Whovian AKA Doctor? fan). I walked in through the Restaurant/Pub next door. Once inside I asked the lady working there if they carried Jelly Babies, and her first reaction was«Doctor Who Fan?» I told her«Yes I am». She mentioned that they no longer carry the Bassett’s brand as most places no longer do but pointed me to Taverns brand. Once she showed me the box I thought to myself this was probably going to be somewhere in the range of $ 15 – 20. I asked her how much and she replied only $ 7. I thought to myself«Score» and bought the box. Not bad when you consider a small Bassett’s is about $ 5 at most places. For $ 2 more I’m sold! As this is my first time, she also mentioned that one of the Cast Members from the show comes in from time to time but wasn’t sure who. All she could think was he’s a military character from the show. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to find out who it is next time I come over as she said he likes to meet and chat with fans of the show.

There were more things at this location than at Friar Tuck Shoppe and we had to go through the pub to get to the shop. It was definitely British & Irish. We even found some Australian flags lingering around this place. They had the staple sauces, pantry items, teas, cookies and chocolates; there is a refrigerator at the back of the shop where you can pickup the frozen and cold imported foods. It’s a decent place that’s worth a look around. There were some souvenirs and tchotchke’s that were interesting so if you’re an anglophile this place might have something for you.

This little shop is attached to the Buchanan Arms Restaurant and worth a stop after a pint and some nibbles. They import specialty items from the UK that you can’t get other places: PG Tips, Ribena, Duers jam, Yorkie, Flake, clotted cream, Irish bacon and bangers… be still my heart! And its very reasonably priced. Every time I’m there i just can’t resist some real chocolate. Making a date now for a little shopping and a pint.

Neat little shop. There’s a restaurant right next door. The shop sells candies, chocolates, Indian sauces among others, british pastries, beef pastry, pies, bacon, and souvenirs from Britain.

Great little shop providing exactly what it promises, all the hard to find British products not widely available in America. A no frills place, run by experts(real life English people!), and stocked with %100 authentic cross-the-pond foods, with a few kick knacks here and there. The woman at the counter was as nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive as a shop owner can be. A 6th star for her alone! Most importantly, they stock real British chocolate. Not the US licensed stuff, but the real deal. You might expect it to be kitchy; you know, British-y in an Epcot like way to lure tourists in. But its what a typical corner shop in London would be: shelves… stuff on the shelves… a nice lady to put the stuff on the shelves. Its attached to a pub, so I don’t think they need a gimmick to attract customers. Anyhow, I left with an Irn Bru, a Dairy Milk and a smile on my face. And I’ll be going back often!

The ultimate source for my favorite chocolate bars of all time: Cadbury’s PICNIC This place is also attached to a pub/restaurant. Decent looking menu. Fish and Chips baby! Can’t say I’ve ever tried their food or their grog. They get 5 stars for merely carrying my perfect chocolate bar. Caramel, peanuts, crispy cereal, and raisins covered in milk chocolate. $ 1.75 a bar… well worth it! All over Europe and Australia but oh so hard to find in the U.S.
