I’ve been here three times for breakfast and lunch, and the food has always been great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. This is an excellent place for a couple or the whole family.

I had a very nice experience there today. Here comes me with the big old doublewide stroller lol… we had put the car in the shop near by and I was trying to make the time pass by until it was done so breakfast was perfect. American style breakfast food/menu. Good sized portions. Kids menu(and crayons and coloring sheets). Pricing was perfectly on point for what I was served. They get the ‘fan’ star for a few little things they did to make the day special. 1) brought my kid drinks with a lid on it… thank you! you saved me a laundry trip lol. 2) the extra coffee… can never have too much! 3) pancake kids menu says 4 dollar size pancakes or 1 large mickey mouse pancake… and since it was made for my daughter, the cooks(or someone) took the time to put a whip cream bow on it and boy was she excited to see minnie :) Also, our waitress was very nice. And thank you fellow food folk for not judging the mom with the double wide stroller walking along past you as you ate your beautiful breakfast :) friendly faces are equally as important to me as friendly business. Don’t go there expecting the gourmet downtown Seattle Skillet style food. Go there, for a clean, friendly, family style American meal where people treat you well and price your service correctly. I was expecting a boring couple of hours waiting for the car and ended up having a great morning with the kids.

Great breakfast spot with personal service and big portions. Ashley was a perfect server. Friendly fast and new when to fill my coffee cup. My daughter ordered their hot chocolate and it was brougt in a glass mug topped with whip cream. A rich treat. Her Mickey Mouse pancake was fun. The bacon was perfectly crisped and the pieces were very big. The spot opens at 6:30 so earlier than most places. I highly recommend this as your local breakfast haunt.

I came and ate Sunday breakfast here and have to say I really like this place for reasonably priced breakfast. There atmosphere here is very calming and there’s a high ceiling and live plants in the window that just make this place a very calming place, at least for me. We had a couple of plates with me getting the chicken fried steak and eggs that came with hash browns and a English muffin and we got pancakes with an egg and bacon with coffee for $ 22.00. And it was good and filling where you get just the right amount of food. There’s no frills here and this is basic American food, nothing French about this place expect maybe French Toast. This place is a solid bet for having a great breakfast and the menu is HUGE, it will take 5 years for me to check out all the menu, but I’ll be back to check out the Saturday Prime Rib night to see how that works.

I’ve visited twice and had the same quality. It’s basic, nothing fancy, but prices were fair for what we received. The coffee was good(and in most diner-type places like IHOP and Denny’s it’s not, IME), the omelettes were huge, and on both visits we had great servers. Both times, the downside was the cashier/hostess. First time, somewhat rude and it wasn’t busy. Second visit, she ran my card, dropped the copies in front of me for my sig and walked away to chat. Do. Not. Run my card, walk away, and expect me to sign off and leave the receipt unattended on the counter for you.(They’re hiring.)

Holiday craft fairs brought us down here for a quick early morning breakfast. We parked in the miniature lot out front and were seated pretty quickly. The place is bigger than it looks and they offer almost their whole menu during the breakfast hour. Ordered a burger dip and fries and my friend got a basic breakfast so we could try the coffee cake. The roll for the burger dip was nicely griddled, but the patty seemed a little pre-formed and had a weird texture. Fries were piping hot. The coffee cake was a giant muffin with berries and nice streusel topping. I guess this wasn’t the place my friend was originally thinking of, but it was still okay if you’re in the area.

Went from a #10 last time in service to a #1 if that today. Asked for crispy bacon, it came raw. She said is everything ok I said bacon is raw maybe I need a box so can take home and cook. She walked by our table few minutes later and literally tossed a box on our table without saying anything. If your in the mood for a mean cranky waitress ask for Judy T. Last time I came I voted them #1 breakfast in Seattle.

I had the pancakes, eggs and hashbrowns. And it came with a Huckleberry streussal which I had to get to go because I was so full from breakfast. Service was amazing. And the manager had heard it was my first time and came to say and shake my hand after the meal while I was in the lobby! Highly recommend. I will definitely be back!

Excellent! Google maps directed us here under«where the locals go» … and boy are we glad! Fresh off an early morning flight into Seattle from California we were hungry for a REAL breakfast. Huckelberry Square delivered! The chicken fried steak is absolute perfection, I’ve honestly never had better served in a restaurant. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the French Toast special, and the bacon was delish. Service was friendly and impressively fast. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting(but we are not stuffy Californians). We enjoyed it so much, it literally set the breakfast standard for our visit to Washington … a standard that all else fell short of meeting, sadly. Hence, we returned for a final meal(dinner) before our flight back home. Dinner was good. We both had steak. Outstanding steak is something we know exceptionally well … these steaks were good, we ate every bite, but dinner wasn’t as amazing as breakfast to us(one star deducted). Next time I will stick with the chicken fried steak! I can’t wait!

I didn’t want to eat big tonight and knew exactly what I wanted, so I went to Huckleberry and ordered up a BLT on toasted wheat with tater salad, Iced tea. It came just as expected, not a large sandwich but plenty of good tasty bacon! Yum! Tater salad was ok… probably scooped from a larger container bought from Food Services of America, or whoever they get their supplies from. Iced tea was of a good size and they would have refilled it as much as I wanted. I didn’t need refills tho. I’m pleased. Out the door for under 10 bucks + gratuity.

I come here all the time. Ever since I was a little girl. It does get busy here but people are always leaving and coming in. I usually come here before lunchtime and dinnertime. The atmosphere is casual. A lot of people come here for brunch or a small snack with coffee. It’s a relaxing place to come catch up. The waitresses are always filling up your water or coffee. They serve you the food and don’t bother you afterwards. But they’re always around to help when needed. The food here is delicious. I ordered a chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns came out crispy and the chicken is soft and tender. The gravy sauce got the right flavor so I added a bit more black pepper for my liking. The plate filled me just right. Not the mention, I get a side of streusel cake. You can choose toast or other options. Overall the food was really fresh! And under $ 10.00. I stayed for an hour talking to my friends.

I really liked the food and atmosphere there. But i really wasnt digging the server to much. They seemed kinda short and spacey whenever we asked her a question she sounded like, are these people really asking this and just seemed like she wanted to get us in and out as quick as possible. i also noticed the silverware was not polished at all, they had very bad water stains all over it, as well as there tap water tastes terribly bad they need to get a water filter really bad.

Such a disappointment. I ordered a Denver omelet hoping to get grilled onion and mushrooms and delicious ham only to get served what looked and tasted like the prison special. No flavor and my veggies weren’t even cooked. The toast looked all warped and lopsided. On top of that the coffee was watered down and gross. You know it’s bad when you’re daydreaming about the food at Denny’s,

I been here couple times. My experience was good. But one morning, its Thurs. Our server is friendly and nice however it feel like she’s rushing us and her customer. One incident her regular customer come and ask if there’s any good deal and she blur out that ur only getting 5 $ oatmeal. The customer said I can get a better deal and she ask where and embarrass the customer and the server went to one of the customer and tell her basically this is what u get for that price. First of all, the server should just explain to the customer that they don’t have those kinda deal. So when the server left me and the customer look at each other and shrug his shoulder. Beside that’s ur regular customer. U should know already what the customer will say or think. Not very professional … The food was ok but not satisfying that I would keep coming back maybe for a quick bite or if I’m in the Neigborhood… PS. The customer is older person.

This is located in Burien Ambuam blvd road, it has ample parking assuming you’re not coming when it’s super busy like during breakfast. Anyway if you come, come for breakfast just expect to wait. There was just the two of us, so we didn’t wait long, about 15 minutes, the bigger group had to wait longer because it was so busy. I gave this place a 4 stars because it truly has the old nostalgic breakfast, diner old school feeling including the excellent service. I ordered the 2 meat 2 eggs it comes with hash brown & a choice of toast or English muffin. My food was good, not too salty & the eggs were cooked properly(over medium). The one less star is for the«not so stuffed» French toast that they advertised as «stuffed» on their menu. It was more like this: two French toast, in the middle was the cream or filling. So really it was more of a «French toast sand which» it wasn’t too sweet and everything came on time. I’ve been here for lunch long ago but wasn’t too happy about it, that was prior to having« Unilocal» though. Not sure about other times eating here but I prefer breakfast. If you get a chance to be near Burien downtown come try this place, on the way back try the big Starbucks too… that’s another review though.

My family loves Huckleberry Square. We come here for breakfast mostly, but we enjoy lunch and dinner here too. My daughter loves to order breakfast at all hours of the day and they can accommodate that here since they serve breakfast all day long. The restaurant is air conditioned which is much appreciated this time of year. No one seems to have noticed however since it’s pretty quiet here at 7 pm after the dinner rush. I would heartily recommend that you take your family here to eat or just come here on your own since they have an old fashioned lunch counter as well as tables and booths. The centerpiece of Huckleberry Square is the pie display case which we order from anytime we’re here for lunch or dinner. Just now after my hearty pot roast and AP’s rich and thick Mickey Mouse pancake we split a piece of chocolate cream pie and it was delicious.

Incredible breakfast. Amazing cinnamon rolls(I don’t even like cinnamon rolls but these are to die for and ENORMOUS). Packed every single weekend from about 10am-noon but we have never had to wait more than 15 minutes(2 adults and an infant). Service can be a little slow at times during peak hours but their staff more than make up for it in hospitality, and almost every time I’m surprised by how quickly our food comes. Food is delicious, homestyle comfort dishes that will probably ruin your diet for the rest of the day(or week?) but it’s totally worth it! They do have some great salads and lighter options too, but I’d rather eat the really yummy stuff :) Great for to-go orders too! We live a few blocks away and often I’ll order up a side dish or chicken for a salad, etc. It’s always hot and ready to go when I get there! Also highly recommend their coconut cream pie and huckleberry pie. They do orders for holidays etc. but make sure you pre-order EARLY!

FIrst off I’d like to say how disappointing it is to go out to eat these days. For instance, I went to South center’s Outback Steakhouse last month and the steaks were horrible fatty cuts, hard to saw through and even worse to chew. My wife and I had two different steaks and they were both bad. Same for the Claim Jumper down the road. So many restaurants are making money by cutting back where it counts these days. Back in the 1970’s and early 1980’s you almost never ran into so much cheapy tactics. Apparently they care more about drawing in walk in’s based on their old reputation than keeping repeat. It’s the new penny pinching corporate agenda. I dropped into Huckleberry Square just by chance because there were so many cars in the parking lot when I drove by. Wow was I shocked to find since that first day, every single meal was grade A. Even the steak in the eggs or the New York strip were juicy and perfectly cooked! I had to stop and talk to the owner on my way out and tell him the quality of the food and service were so good it was like I stepped out of a time machine back to 1975! He explained his family history in the restaurant business and their ethical creed to make every meal the best it can be by not cutting corners. And you know it really shows! This is an honest business owner who cares about repeat business and happy customers. I highly recommend this place. Beats the hell out of places that are priced three times as high. Hope he doesn’t raise his prices because I let the cat out of the bag here.

This place was packed!!! No parking spots available. We got lucky and saw people leaving. Waiting time was 20 – 30 min, it wasn’t so bad actually. This is my first time coming here and it was pretty good. Service was nice. They had bathrooms. I would describe it as a hidden gem or hole in the wall place? I would go here again for breakfast!!! It was delicious. I ate all of it!!! I uploaded a picture of my food… It looked delicious and tasted delicious just like the food. My aunt and uncle take their kids here often though, they are huge breakfast fans. When we left, there were still A LOT of people waiting and sitting down and even waiting outside. To me that means this place is that good. However… Since its a hole in the wall, you can’t expect much… There was a baby ant crawling and that made me cringe. But other than that I think this place is good.
